  1. Past hour
  2. There was a massive site update on 22/7/21 to the current version.
  3. Well Woody gets the tick, it seems.
  4. Monster Mash - Bobby Pickett
  5. After watching a YouTube video I managed to open the pickup up. The wires from the coils are attached to the tags. Still reads open circuit. Off for a rewind.
  6. Sei flamboyant 42"
  7. If you get the Tobias I hope you will like it better than this 😉 (looks am.....! 🔥
  8. Bump for added sale option. Would consider trades for Fender P / PJ 5 string or Sandberg Basic Ken Taylor 5.
  9. Wanted to say the same
  10. Not in the near future. Meet halfway?
  11. If I was not worried that I would have to do eons of sanding to clear the grain of the black paint, I would. There is also the problem that I am inherently lazy.
  12. Two pizzas?
  13. I tried this when I last popped in there. Lovely bass but wasn't for me personally. Somebody else will love it.
  14. I used to gig one of those. I made quite a few sound engineers's eybrows go up and then smile
  15. Wow! Not in the market now unfortunately but I'd snap this up if funds were available. Super interesting bass and great specs.
  16. Beautiful fodi.
  17. Sadly, the small developer/company, 'Naroth Audio', are closing their Internet doors. There are few good bargains to have, and this particular one below is excellent. It's a collection of unusual Percussion instruments (and sequencers) called 'RHYTHMUS'. Well worth the £19.00: Rhythmus by Naroth Audio: Unique Found Percussion & Dynamic Sequencers
  18. Don't suppose a trip to surrey is planned?
  19. Today
  20. 20 forums in 2 posts?
  21. I did indeed paid for them. I’m just in the fortunate position of being able to pay trade pricing instead of retail. I was trying to be helpful and provide context of what I had previously tried and a light hearted reference to what is an expensive pursuit of finding the right string in the Flatwound world. 😕
  22. Does the current bridge not allow you to set the string heights or intonation ? Do the current tuning pegs slip, even after basic maintenance of a daub of grease and a wee tighten ? Does the bass neck dive in all positions or can you find the balance point by adjusting the strap ? £130 for a bit more output but lose the mids which give the P-bass it distinct sound. Not an ideal situation. Could try an Entwistle Neo, PBXN, at £40. Massive boost in output while retaining the P-bass mids. Screenshot of the SPB-3 signal vs the Entwistle PBXN. Tested using identical basses with same strings, pickup heights and settings.
  23. strip it- strip it- strip it!
  24. Around five years ago we had a guitarist who was a habitual drink-driver. His average intake on gig nights was four pints of beer, after which he’d drive home. Looking back, we cut him too much slack. He was younger than the rest of us and we tried advice and persuasion on him, to no avail. Eventually we sacked him, but in his eyes we were the bad guys.
  25. Hm I’ve gone from graphite necked midi equipped basses to vintage wooden short scales. Probably about as opposite as you can get!
