  1. Past hour
  2. Ohhh that's a bit gorgeous. GLWTS
  3. Here is a link to a very Handy Mustang Bass guide from Talkbass Forum! May be useful for you Stang owners. Will. https://www.talkbass.com/wiki/mustang-bass-strings-links-tips-tricks-things/
  4. Well, the fact it was being pulled across by the tuner wouldn't have helped - taking the A string off the tuner so you could get a straighter run would help, or even putting it onto the D tuner to get a true representation. And if you get a B string, by whatever means, before taking it anywhere, you could see if the B fits in the nut as well which would save you 25 euros plus postage.
  5. The latest bit of wood is bought and drying in preparation for a future build; a lovely bit of Lebanese Cedar that smells gorgeous.
  6. I don't think you have a legal leg to stand on - see https://johnpye.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/John_Pye_Auctions_TC.pdf section 7. Although unlike Gardiner Houlgate, they don't give you an option to request a condition report. Gardiner Houlgate say for any mains-powered electrical item "*Please note: Gardiner Houlgate do not guarantee the full working order of any electrical items. Do not assume that this lot or any other electrical item is fully working. Please ask for a condition report before placing any kind of bid", which I have done for various items - a typical report for an amp is "This item is in good working condition. No pot noise or crackles."
  7. Also a Subsequent 25. Modulation into delay into reverb. Nothing else that beast needs. The Canvas line injector serves some good utility - the effects here are stereo, so it gives me a steroid out to the desk, but also lets me sum to mono via the thru so on stage monitoring or if I just need to rehearse with a bass amp. I use this on the tabletop next to the synth, not on the floor.
  8. Looks absolutely stunning. Always love the look of these modern iterations, burny/esp, indie, retrovibe etc I get all the spiel about protecting his brand and all that but an import ric would sell like crack. I guess he just doesn't like money! And cue the flames
  9. It's about bass guitar players specifically, thanks for your help!
  10. These are £131 on Thomann at the moment. Rude to say no really!
  11. You are retaining the tension of the E A and D and losing the tension of the G BUT most B strings are of a similar tension to a G string; ergo the overall tension remains relatively similar.
  12. If this thing had block inlays I don't think I'd be able to resist for even a second... So close to my perfect bass! Will be keeping an eye on it for sure. GLWTS!
  13. The Charcoal Frost for me, although maybe not - there's no Jazz. 😢
  14. Today
  15. Done. @BassslapperMy only question is whether this is aimed at bass guitar or double bass players as the musculoskeletal demands are different! Good luck with your thesis.
  16. Empire Music first out of the gate as always. 😊
  17. I've got a Levy's 4" with rawhide on the inside on a Yam that I can transfer. I shall check out Harvest.
  18. I’m not sure it looks stock to me. I know that there were a few hardware options open. The control plate is apparently a different size from the standard StingRay so not an easy replacement part to source.
  19. I would say, get a better strap. Mine is fine with a wide Hofner leather strap and it barely moves more than an inch or so. As a side note, I used Hofner straps on quite a few basses as an ironic joke about how awful their basses are and why McCartney isn't my favourite bass player. Playing a Status Buzzard with a Hofner strap? Next level irony awards to me please. Since then, I've moved to Harvest and they're brilliant, but the irony meter has been substantially reduced.
  20. Hi, I’m not sure what the gear ratio is - I’ll try to find out. Each tuner weighs 61g and the bushing outside diameter is 12mm. Cheers
  21. Oddly enough John Pye auctions have just come back and as expected have washed their hands of the situation. Distance selling regs do not apply, so I'll be in touch with their local trading standards for selling dangerous goods. Doubt anything will come of it but if nothing more I can make a fuss. If anybody has any other suggestions that might make their life legally difficult please pipe up. Lesson learnt never to use them again Rob
