Fun is mostly for when I'm playing with other musicians, though that's been off recently. When it's just me I like to go into the zone. It's like running or going to the gym - those have never been fun but I've been doing it consistently for the last 25 years because it's satisfying and I miss it when I don't do it.

AJ was quite involved in the early days of Bass Player USA He had some forceful opinions I was able to read and contemplate his thoughts and apply or try them in various musical situations He was a Principled Ideas man

What are your irrational prejudices? I have some bonkers ones...

Must take a moment to say how good the team are in GuitaGuitar in Camden. Really helpful, not pushy. Also, in my experience, Andertons have been great and so have The Bass Gallery and Bass Direct. Been very happy to put money their way over the years. -

Just swap the saddles - but make sure they are the correct thread - Fender USA likely Imperial, others Metric. I swapped out the Chrome for Brass on my HB50 Modder.

Yeah just change the saddles, I’ve done it on a few of my jazzes as I like the threaded ones, I got the fender ones a long time back maybe from allparts, they were quite expensive though, or maybe get a hosco bridge and just take the saddles off, like this

This is now up FS on eBay but I would much rather it stayed in the BC community. Its a beautiful, chock-full-of-mojo, vintage rock monster and - for most people - comes in at a good weight. The work SiBob had done on the neck means it has lovely low action and plays slickly (he said, avoiding mention of a popular dairy product). Would £2100 tempt anyone here?
