Very rare medium scale JV Squier. Very recently traded for this from BassBros but wonโt get used much by me I donโt think. Sounds exactly how youโd want a P to sound, scale doesnโt seem to make it any different tone wise to my other Pโs. this was listed at ยฃ1200 by BassBros so thinking this is a fair enough price. Comes with flats. Iโve included photos from BB along with my own Iโve just taken now.

Nope i'm the same. Never used it. 6 now. Dave

just a heads up for Beyerdynamic users. Been testing this out for a couple of days. It seems to do what it says and is free. It makes quite a difference with my 700 pro X. It smooths the high end quite a bit. I didnt realsie how harsh they are until i tried this. Great for general listening but not as flat as i had hoped.

Nigel Sleaford started following Atilla Balogh Odyssey Basses and Guitars

Just to refresh this thread, given that there are currently two Odyssey basses in the for sale section, and I was looking forwards to reading more about them. The ads seem to have been overlooked.

Sad day (well, week). After a year of no use and increasing pressure to free up some space, I carted my wonderful SVT and Fender Bassman Neo 8x10 off to BassBros. I donโt normally think twice about trading gear in, but I really winced at this one. If I could have kept it, and believe me, much man-maths went into it, I almost certainly wouldโve. Very glad I started this thread a few years ago and got to tour a massive, over-powered rig. Nothing comes close. Time to join the other wedding band warriors with a Markbass set up! ๐ (Joking. I love my Markbass rig, just in a different way.)
-
So what's the main benefits from them. ? Why spend that much more than a good quality set of nickel strings. I'm just curious. I did have a mate that used them because he was allergic to SS and nickel strings so his reasons were understandable. Dave

If that new Doug Wimbish bass is only available in that relic finish then I won't be buying one after all. The relic finish they offered on the old new Doug Wimbish last year cost an extra thousand quid, and I don't like relic finishes anyway. I'm certainly not going to pay a premium for one. I don't mind the aged white colour, but the rest they can keep.

That looks fantastic. Congrats! Looks pretty much like my American Original Fender, but probably at about a third of the price! What's not to like?

Sparky Mark started following Snakeskin Fernandes P bass - any ideas what on earth this is ?!

If the top end is reduced too much, you could remove an area of leather under the bridge and insert a metal block/shim to ensure direct bridge to body contact. (As long as the neck joint is tight and stable, that isn't really any different to the plastic under-plate used on plenty of F shapes basses).

RE: just marketing and such, I don't know about the Daves etc, but they mention that this is designed for small clubs, churches and pit bands etc, where there's not much space. In churches/pit bands at least the amp never really gets moved, it's more of an install. I reckon this fits the bill. It's small enough to sneak on some stage noise, the rear connections open up a bunch of options for in-ear monitoring, and having some simple impulse responses available on the DI outputs is actually pretty handy. As an aside their new Octamizer / TLC pedals have some genuinely nifty features too. The new Ashdown series looks ace but it just has one plain DI out - it's a different thing. It's a shame you can't connect another cab to the Aguilar, but that'd kind of defeat the point anyway. Maybe it's a bit pricey but my experience with my Tone Hammer head is that it's a 'buy well, buy once' thing. Re: Eco-mode, maybe it's similar to some modern active PA speakers. We use a big HK Audio system with an eco-mode. If it doesn't receive any audio signal for a while, it powers itself down, and automatically turns itself back on as soon as it gets a signal again. This could be pretty handy for the target venues.

Would totally own that mug, you goit.

I sold eight basses to finance this one, now in the making. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime build for me by my luthier of choice: Christian Olsson at Unicorn Bass. Here is a close-up of the headstock just to show the incredibly grained 3000 years old redwood face. The body of the bass will have the same top and backside, so it will be just gorgeous. It will be an unlined fretless five string with one pickup in wooden housing. No controls , pots or switches, just plain wood. Except for the bridge and tuning machines. Long wait, but within reach... โค๏ธ https://www.unicornbass.se/

For sale, a TE Elf C110 combo in excellent condition. Reduced to ยฃ340. This really is immaculate, as is its cover. All you'd excect from the Elf range and surprisingly powerful and loud (if needed). Functioning perfectly and supplied with original TE documentation. I've ended-up with two (silly stereo experiment) so this - almost unused one - is no longer needed. I don't have the original box but can locate a carton for shipping if any prospective buyer wishes to organise a courier. No trades thanks. Collection would be preferable (just to the East of Manchester), though as above, courier arrangements are possible. Any questions, please just ask. Basic specs are: POWER: 130 watts @ 8 ohms, 200 watts @4 ohms (with an additional 8 ohm cabinet) FEATURES: Gain, level indicator, bass (center @ 80Hz), middle (center @ 400Hz), treble (center @ 4.2kHz), power indicator, volume, speaker/headphone selector switch, ground lift switch) SPEAKERS: 1x10โ Neo 8-ohm driver DIMENSIONS: 324mm (H) x 305mm (W) x 355mm (D) CONNECTIONS: Input, headphone/line out, speaker output, balanced DI XLR (direct out) WEIGHT: 18.5 lbs

Choose a 5 string bass for ยฃ500 (ish)

It looks very nice. The 5 string Space is definitely a strong contender (I've never owned a headless before and always fancied one) -
Up for sale is this passive Sterling by Music Man Pete Wentz signature StingRay bass in a very eye catching Fiesta Red finish. I had a change of heart and withdrew my 40th anniversary Squier Jazz ad recently, so have put this up for sale as although I love it, it's the bass getting used least with my band and I've recently bought another bass. This is a very cool, passive StingRay in fantastic condition (small scratch on the back of the headstock pictured in the only sign of wear), with one of my favourite necks I've ever had on any bass. Roasted maple, stays straight throughout all seasons and feels great in the hand for those who like a chunkier bass neck. This also comes fitted with Dunlop Straploks and crucially; high quality Schaller BM tuners to replace the stock tuners which were to be blunt, utter garbage. As a passive bass with a single humbucker with just volume and tone controls it's less versatile than a regular StingRay, but it sounds great and it's a snarling rock beast that you can also get a lot of mellower tones out of. You will get most tonal variety from how and where in relation to the pickup you play it, rather than the tone control to bring out the dynamics of the fat sounding pickup. Also comes with a good quality Ritter gig bag; has a broken handle (as pictured) but all other straps and handles are in good working order. I would much prefer collection in person or half-way meet if you're reasonably close to Brighton in the South East. However, I do have a sturdy cardboard box to send this in so could look into sending at an additional cost to the buyer, and at their own risk (as it's not in a hard case so can't be insured by courier services). Please see my feedback for assurance of past honest dealings on the forum: Any questions, send me a message. Thanks.
