  4. Welcome from across the country in Lincolnshire! It would be interesting to hear how you're served by music shops where you are - it's always a massive advantage to try before you buy - especially with amps.
  5. Wow! 😍 That's an absolute corker of a bass @karlfer! Red, black, mojo and everything... 😁 If I didn't have 576,000 too many basses already (according to a recent survey commissioned by Mrs Silverfoxnik), I'd be on the A1 to Darlington already... GLWTS 👍😊

  8. I'm trying to get my hands on a Yamaha BB425X or 1025X but they seem as rare as a five legged horse, though there is the occasional overpriced one often in some remote corner of the country 'collection only', or from overseas with shipping costs half the price of the bass! 😂 Rigby Music in Stockport are advertising a red BB424X for £350 if anyone is interested however whether it's still for sale I couldn't say (what is it with music shops and dealers who persist in advertising guitar stock they sold six months ago ?🤔)interested Cheers, Steve
  9. Hi there I am looking for an NTMB L preamp, the one found stock in Laklands 55-02 or 55-94 if you have a spare one you want to sell please contact me! thanks

  14. Hi all I'm hoping to get some expert opinions here. If so I would be most grateful. The bass guitar in question is a Hofner Club bass from their entry level Ignition range. Although these are entry level Hofner's, do fakes/copies of these exist? The logo/script on the headstock of this one seems suspicious in that the font looks thicker than others that I've seen, the dots above the "O" seem odd (less defined and almost non existent) and would the logo wear away so easily? I have attached a photo of this along with a few others detailing other aspects of the bass. Any input would be much appreciated.
  15. Welcome! I recommend Ashdown Studio Head, which costs around £200-300. Block Blast
  16. Any of you all still playing these? I bought my first one years ago from YJ and customs was not a problem. Something about these basses just stuck with me over the years and now I have 3 and have sold about everything else. They really scratch that vintage bass itch, my jazz sounds and looks exactly like a 65 I played many times in the past. The difference is the neck is better. Vintage necks can be quite hit or miss. Some people call that character, but I don’t want to pay a ton of money for that. And that’s where the moollons really deliver. I know olinto is making some good stuff, but at double the pricing. At that point I’d probably just go vintage. they really hit on something special with these basses, I am curious who is on the same level besides olinto. I have heard sus bass is up and coming. Also have a Nash that I think is better than most fenders, but it’s not on the level of Moollon -imo.
  17. I’m looking for an older model Hadrien Feraud Signature with a top wood, but it seems impossible to find one anywhere in the world. I even contacted Sleek Elite, and they told me the earliest they could build one would be in 2028. This whole thing has started to feel a bit surreal for me. If you happen to come across a used HF Signature for sale anytime soon, I’d really appreciate it if you could send me a message. Much love,
  18. I have a similar bass (1975) albeit with maple fretboard - yours looks all original to me and in very nice condition. Would be a very good deal at the price you've set in my opinion. Good luck with it!
  19. Thank you
  20. You only need half of those If you got rid of everything fret wise above the octave and every part of a fret on the two treble strings, you could make it a hybrid fretted/fretless and do all the pointless noodling on the bits real bass players don’t use 👍 #joking
  21. The necks on these are very nice
  22. The maximum output of many modern amplifiers is stated at 1% (sometimes 10%) THD (total harmonic distortion). Trace Elliot used a 0.02% level at maximum output. I wonder if this means the TE amps were capable of higher outputs but with increased THD?

  24. Wow! And a fine job you did sir (as indeed did you all) 🙂
  25. Hi all, I have just bought one of the fretless epiphone jack casadys and it is absolutely incredible, my first fretless bass and I have fallen in love! I have decided that I want to use it as my main bass creatively (at least for a little while) and will do some mods to it to make it more fitting to the music I play. I am thinking of adding a bridge pickup but have no idea where to start. I think I know how I would go about installing it but I am unsure what pickups to consider. does anyone have any advice? Also if their are any luthiers based in Suffolk/Cambs/Norfolk/London who would be interested in taking on this sort if project please reach out! Cheers, Harry
