Funnily enough, I had this at a gig last weekend; a chap came up to me to say he was enjoying the band and then said 'I'm a bassist, too; I play a Fender Jazz...a US Elite Fender Jazz' My complete lack of reaction to this* seemed to nonplus him, and he walked away. * I may have said 'Oh.', just because there was a gap in the conversation...

Odd that the ad doesn't mention new strings and a "pro setup'. That normally add's a lot to the value....apparently 😂

New Birkins start around £23K, and head North, very, very quickly... Bass prices don't compete... Be careful what you wish for gents.

Ah that’s good to hear. Thank you. Yeah, it’s definitely quite a middle of the road, un offensive kind of tone. But, it works for what i need. I was looking for something like that, that I can eq to fit in a variety of things, and it does that well I think. There’s also a wide variety of Pickups/preamp options down the line if i want to make it sing a little more.

Mistaken, rather than misleading perhaps? We also don't know how old his hardware is

Bought a preamp from John. Nice easy, straightforward transaction with great communication. Recommended

Slightly misleading info here. Only the early cv, the pino version had tonerider pups, everything since have been fender designed.

WOW!!! I'm speechless,£7m??? 😧

For sale is my Tone Hammer 500. This is a great amp with a warm, tube-like tone. I bought it new about 8 years ago and it's had regular, though not heavy use - approx. one gig a month - and always been well looked after. In great condition, with one minor scratch on the top, seen in the photos. Packed in the original box, with mains lead and instructions. Complete with the Aguilar carrying bag in very good condition. £500 including UK postage.

yeah £7,000,000 for the original Birkin bag If you can afford £20k for a bass, why would you deny your wife the same for something that makes her happy? Sorry, this was supposed to be funny, getting a bit philosophical now.
-
Does this apply in reverse? Hypothetically, if one had a collection of Sadowsky, Valenti, AC, Lull etc basses, would one still take the Fender? I mean, Joe Blow doesn't know the difference between a Jack & Danny's and and an Alleva Coppolo, they're both obscure, niche brand FSOs. My Jap Yamahas have been the victims of Fender-snobbery many times.

I played your bass in Rose Morris on Denmark Street when they first got it in,maybe 3 months ago give or take. I really liked the fit finish and general feel, and I mean a LOT! Sound is subjective but it did at least sound like a Jazz to my ear. Job well done Cort. Visually I don't get on with clear pickguards but ignore that as that's only my personal taste speaking. The maple fingerboard and matched headstock look great in person however to me. Enjoy your new bass ☺️

Nice find. Well done.

Very kind, but I don't read music, am self taught and just play familiar patterns when writing my own lines....

Looks great. Where did you get it from? Provenance is a big thing, of course. -
I think you’re underselling yourself a bit there mate.

I changed out the CV pups and controls in an old Squier Jazz that I owned, but really didn't need to. It sounded perfectly lovely from factory. I'm now lead to believe that the CV's use Tonerider pickups, of which I use in my American Jazz. They're absolutely beautiful sounding. I like them so much that im fitting a set to my own Bitsa Precision

I say this with some trepidation (and yes I can hear all of the sniggering, calm down at the back please) I think this may be a keeper................ I put it together from parts left unsold after a recent bitsa sell-off. Late 70's Daion body, Warmoth full-fat Precision neck, with maple cap/slab. A big surprise is the Squier CV PUP and circuit, which frankly sounds as decent as any I've owned (I am going to test some alternatives at some stage just in case they sound even better). Currently rehearsing a Pixies show, this is doing the job rather nicely 👍

Purchased one a couple of weeks ago ..it was backup for my GK550 …it’s a solid amp ..very loud ..quiet fan and weighs next to nothing compared to my GK ..can’t really fault it for the money 🤟 - Today

Whoops. Sorry! I should say great to hear more demos of people playing the FI on keys…for over two hours.
