Dood started following TC Electronic Nova Dynamics - Tri Band Compressors / Noise Gates

Will upload pictures in a bit, one of the best compressor pedals on the market for features! It hasn’t been on a pedal board for a little while now and has Velcro on the bottom ready for its new home. https://www.tcelectronic.com/product.html?modelCode=HE123 https://images.app.goo.gl/63gJJkCtEDRHVFio6 S/H one here for £120+p&p: https://www.absolutemusic.co.uk/tc-electronic-ndy-1-nova-dynamics-dual-compressor-and-noise-gate-effects-pedal-pre-owned.html NDY-1 Nova Dynamics Features FOUR compressor pedals and TWO Noisegate pedals in one unit, infinitely configureable! Dual Mono, Stereo, 4+ cable method, Serial mode. MANUAL: - https://service-tcgroup.tcelectronic.com/media/Nova_Dynamics_US.pdf [*]2 compressor modes: studio (multi-band 3 way) & stomp (full range) [*]Noise gates (frequency dependent) [*]Dual engine design [*]Dry blend – parallel compression (Perfect for bass players) [*]Flexible routing [*]Auto input gain adjustment [*]Precise gain reduction meter High quality dual engine compression and noise gate made stompbox simple. Packed with never before seen functionalities Nova Dynamics sets new standards to floor-based dynamics control. Its dual engine design offers a variety of setup and control options that allow you to tailor Nova Dynamics to fit your rig. Use the two engines for different compression settings or switch between stomp compression for that classic "squash" and TC's advanced multiband compression for subtle, studio-style dynamics control. You can even split the two engines in Nova Dynamics and have a compressor in front of your amp and noise gate in your amp effects loop for true noise reduction of high gain signals. The Dry Blend feature lets you blend your dry signal in with the compressed signal for optimized attack with no eating into the dynamics while the automatic input gain adjustment on both engines brings perfect settings for e.g. both a Strat and a Les Paul at the flick of a switch. £100 + £5 towards insured mainland shipping. Bank Transfer. Tracked, Insured and Signed for / Private Sale / Not Responsible for loss or damage in post.

Uhm… 3 things left though…

I’m going to be out , just waiting to get the shipping costs and final bill. These have been on my radar for quite some time. This is the Korean reissue , improved tuners and set neck. Thumpy as all heck. I have too much stuff , but I’ve been looking at these for years. Finally will be getting one.

Must have been a very proud moment

Back in the 70’s I did 6/7 nights a week in pubs that were absolutely rammed with punters. Admittedly this was mostly in and round London and playing in a country band.

A two piece Swamp Ash body from a really nice straight grain length. This is one of two I shaped a while back but don’t think I’ll get around to working on both for a while. Another fretted bass I’ve made from the same wood stock sounds really good and sustains very well. £75 plus U.K. post The pictures also show the weight/dimensions and a mock up of a neck (not mine!) to give some representation of a final look.

I’ve seen a few guitarists using these K&M stands. I’m sure they could handle a bass… https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/KandM-17581-Heli-2-Electric-Guitar-Stand-Black/1YZ5?origin=product-ads&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22290702940&gbraid=0AAAAAD_kjLRlsHmsJiER70uSV0b6kZVO_&gclid=Cj0KCQjwnovFBhDnARIsAO4V7mC-U_GJ_w_DSSP58fTh0Q0ZFaAaMmQ0rX9uyswijgE3b_9k59j6gQ0aAtu7EALw_wcB- 1 reply

Hate to say it, but don't be surprised if your collection ends up in a heap on the floor with a wall mount like that. The distance from the wall will add much more pressure on the screws holding the thing up. Get a few second hand Hercules wall mounts. I have 30 or so of them, some mounted to dry wall (with the right rawl plugs) and they've not let me down carrying heavy loads (some 7 string basses) for years. They're not a foot proud of the wall either! You can normally pick them up for a tenner second hand, maybe less if you get someone selling a batch.

I agree with Phil on this. I'd never recommend having a bass cab in a corner. In this scenario, assuming the cab's 30cm from both the back and side wall, you'll something like a 15dB boost between 40 and 100Hz, which is too much boom. I usually recommend positioning the Monaco between 15 to 30cm from the back wall to reinforce the very low frequencies (depending on taste). Lifting the cab isn't going to deal with this, as you will get cancellation, but at a higher frequency than you need. If you lift the cab 30cm, for example, and it's positioned 30cm from the back and side walls, you'll get boom plus a nasty suckout at 300Hz, which will be audible. So, you have to be careful, although the low ceiling won't have much effect on the frequency response. My advice would be to keep the cab on the floor, position it 12" from the back wall and well away from the side wall. As @Phil Starr says, put it where the guitar amp is. Then drastically cut between 40 and 100Hz on your amp. Also, try not to have the cab directly behind any object that blocks the sound because that can reduce the level of higher frequencies reaching the audience. Good luck!

Yeah at that price it's almost certain to be a useful thing to have around purely due to the size, power options and bluetooth. If I didn't have the Double Four I'd definitely be getting one as I've always kept a mini practice rig around and £78 is nothing if it's something you use regularly, not sure if I prefer it in black or white:

Hi there, thanks for the kind words! I used the pearl hold backed Paisley paper from Rothko and Frost https://rothkoandfrost.com/products/pearl-gold-backed-pink-paisley-paper-guitar-body-decal-690x480mm?variant=44344246337823 There was no problem applying the paper on the forearm chamfer. The most difficult part is smoothing the paper to blend into the body edge contours, especially when applying the nitrocellulose lacquer. I'm about to start on a Jazz bass next (flamed maple neck with rosewood board). I'll ne using silver backed Paisley paper this time. https://rothkoandfrost.com/products/silver-backed-pink-paisley-paper-guitar-body-decal-690x480mm?variant=44344252891423 I'll post pics of the various build stages as the work progresses.

Handbox WB-100 (120w of valve power) in great condition, not used that much and never cranked up. Just can't justify it sat about doing nothing most of the the time so hopefully of better use to someone else (hence the price). Happy to post at buyers risk using a Next Day service..... I'm sure it'd be fine using courier, after all it's how it was sent to the UK from Poland in the first place 🙂 It'd be packaged well using my other half's business packaging warehouse and packaging stuff. Also happy to drop off if nearby, halfway swap if a reasonable distance or can be collected.
