  1. Past hour
  2. I’ve been noticing on many forums and classified sites that things are not selling as quickly as they used to. Facebook advertising can be annoying , and yet in the local marketplace section deals can be found. It seems that things are unusually slow right now.
  3. Rereading your original post, I think there is still some confusion here. In imperial measurements, the common headphone jack diameters are 1/4 inches and 1/8 inches. In metric, that would be 6.35mm and 3.5mm. When you talk about 1/2 inch jacks, and buying a convertor 'from 4.4mm to 3.5mm (1/4")', I wonder if you are confusing the imperial and metric equivalents and searching for the wrong adaptor? David
  4. I don't know about streaming Big Ben but you've got to use them as the intro into AC/DCs Hells Bells. 👌
  5. YouTube live stream audio of sky news perhaps?
  6. The club we are playing tonight wants the Big Ben bells at midnight. Any recommendations on the best way to do this. Maybe use a radio app and stream into the PA and hope the WiFi holds up?
  7. Not even if you Caine them! 😄
  8. It's now December 31st. I might order a bass in a minute, as a year without buying anything music related just doesn't feel right. My left eye keeps twitching and I've developed stammer. 😁
  9. Soviet Suprem feat. Flavia Coelho - FASHION FACHO
  10. For as long as I have been designing with class D modules, over 50% of the claims of a bad module have proven to be incorrect diagnostics… sometimes running as high as 80% incorrect diagnostics.
  11. Which means that at some point the band will need to do a full technical rehearsal with all the equipment including the PA that they intend to use at gigs so you can definitely see if there are any problems.
  12. Surfin' Bird! - The Cramps
  13. The D4 will be far superior sounding, but I think it might lack the weight you need in situations where there is no PA support. I'm a PJB user and love them, but I'm under no illusions about their abilities. The volume they produce is remarkable for their size, but two 4" drivers aren't going to blow the bloody doors off, although they will sound lovely.
  14. Fender 4-bolt neck plate with the black plastic backing. bought for a 70s Precision rebuild but not used. £6.50 delivered.
  15. No idea! But I did replace the 15" in my Yamaha folded horn 1x15 with a Precision Devices 600w unit, which was quite an upgrade!
  16. As a PJB user, I can assure you it's simple. Unbolt the grille and you can remove the bolts that hold the drivers in place. Just make sure you note the way connections are made to the drivers (the C8, like my C4s, has them wired series/parallel). There is stuffing in the cab, which will have absorbed the smoke and will not respond to leaving vinegar nearby or similar.
  17. Yeah I will once again be taking on the role of soundman in this group and when we do it will be with my nice digital mixer that has a lot of control, through nice speakers, in nice rooms. Unfortunately the rehearsal rooms we use tend to have crummy analogue mixers with '3 band at best' eq per channel and nothing else. It's not that I don't know how to use a DI, it's that I don't know if the lackluster sound we've had over the past few weeks has been because the DI solution inherently isn't working for us, or if it's actually a perfectly fine solution being hampered by the crummy pa in a crummy room.
  18. Got a gk cable from seller, well packed and fast shipments:) good lad to deal with.
  19. A few more bits from my now much tidier box of stuff, £25 inc uk postage for the whole bundle or prices as below. 2no Diago brand 18v adaptors (£15 +p&p new) £15 inc uk postage for the pair. 4no PedalSnake brand 9v right angle power extenders £10 inc uk postage for the 4. 1no 5way daisy chain, no name on it but it could be Diago, it was a while ago and I can't remember, £5 inc uk postage They're all in Hope Valley if you're passing but uk postage is easily sorted for these.
  20. I know that's why I did it. I'm starting a small business of guitar repair, electronic repair, Auto repair, and really anything just broke Denise fixed. Bring it up Bubba Lee owner of Evil Genius Creations. I do things to guitars and basses. That people tell me they can't be done like that it has to be this way or has to be that way you got to use this value capacitor with that value potentiometer. I asked if they could show me where it says it has to be done exactly like this it cannot be done like that. I've gotten into a 9 hour conversation on Reddit. For installing 100K potentiometers with a 6800 uF capacitor. I posted it Reddit just to see what I can stir up. The next thing I know I'm in a conversation at last 9 freaking hours. So you figure out how to put the battery in a p Bass without having to cut too much off the body to install the battery cover.
  21. Try the ones from Home Bargains. Excellent value for money and decent quality. I think of them as the incontinence equivalent of Elites bass strings or Sire basses.
  22. Hi all, I have this mint condition fender acoustic bass for sale. I bought it for an unplugged project which never got off the ground. It has never been used, never been gigged. I bought this lovely TGI case to protect it which is thrown in free of charge, I can post it for 20 quid. 👍
  23. Volume, pickups pan, mids, and the big one highs and lows
  24. Gigging tonight, so before I forget...

Wishing the Basschat community a very Happy New Year and all the best for 2026!

  25. I got a g Larry generic {P bass}. That I bought from Temu a little over a year ago for $75. A few months back I bought a blended two band active preamp from Temu."I was planning on installing it in my jazz bass. Since it came on the [Jazz]control plate." Where would I put the battery in my P bass? Is what you are asking me. The battery will sit underneath the pickguard. I done routed out part of the body underneath the pickguard. Everything fits under there like it was meant to be there. I figured out why I keep getting the hissing sound. Even though I seen it many times online. When I was looking for ideas on different wiring for guitars and basses. Active preamps or pickups the ground wire goes in to the ground on the upper Jack right? Then you got another ground that comes off that output Jack straight to the ground right? I removed the original output Jack. Because I believe that it was actually a little bit too long for my generic p-bass. So I replaced it with the mono output Jack. When I read or watch the video about preamps and action pickups and all that. You need a stereo output Jack to run active preamps and pickups right? That is why I was getting the hissing sound. I learned one big thing though. It had a 500K pot for the volume. (I actually do not like 500K potentiometers!)Well I replaced the mono TS pot for I switched mono output Jack. That is what I was holding in my hand took a picture of. I also had to replace the MN 250k blend pot. I put the same value potentiometer in place of the blend pot that came out. The only reason why I did that. Is because the blend pot that came with the preamp. Had a little small circuit board attached to it. Diodes capacitors resistors semiconductors conductors attach ed to the circuit board that was attached to the blend pot. I hope that me summarizing of what I said last night or early this morning. Kind of clear things up for y'all. If not I'm sorry I apologize. This s*** I've been through in my entire 48 years on this planet.
