  1. Past hour
  2. Interesting, P meets J meets S.
  3. Where we play, each artiste has three songs. They are free to come back round at the end of the list. That makes the assumption that they aren't doing Freebird, Bohemian Rhapsody and Moby Dick (live version). This is across a few open mike clubs.
  4. Bullet With Butterfly Wings - Smashing Pumpkins
  5. Ben bought some hefty bass pedals off me - quick payment and he seemed to enjoy the packaging too! 🤣🌨️⛄️
  6. Heh heh - Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
  7. I have played at one several times and it always bugged me those that went home after they had played. How long do you give each artiste? I have 5 mics but need to get more mic stands. I have several DIs and lots of guitar cables. I am not thinking that there will be bands but can accommodate them if I take my subs. Now new strings for the acoustic and some real practice, fingers all soft from playing bass.
  8. *PRICE INCLUDES UK POSTAGE * Wicked pedal! Tracks beautifully. Only selling as I’m now using multi-effect unit. In great condition (I may even have original box…can’t find at the moment m). Does an octave below and/or above. Also has an independent boost effect. Blurb here: Octavius tri-tone generator has 4 controls LO OCT, HIGH OCT, MASTER MIX and BOOST. LO OCT knob lets you set the volume of the lower octave signal produced by the pedal. HIGH OCT knob controls the volume of the higher octave signal produced by the pedal. The balance between the levels of these 2 knobs is what creates your particular octave-divided sound. Experiment with your mix, and you’ll be amazed at the variety of effects you’ll get. MASTER MIX knob lets you set the overall volume of your low and high octaves compared to your direct signal. Use the BOOST knob to control the output of your octave-divided sound. The boost function lets you dial in a solo level, whether the overdrive circuit is activated or not.
  9. I bloody love these. They sound and play great. Really versatile and aggressive, really good with a pick.
  10. Today
  11. I used to have trouble with both hands so I need to have both wrists as straight as possible. It gives me the fear when I see YouTube videos of guys with that really crooked right hand playing position
  12. I replied too so you might be third in line but I haven’t had any reply yet.
  13. My experience is not exhaustive. But I had an NS which was beautiful. But it sounded a bit fretless-y with original NS strings. I loaded it up with proper DB strings, raised the action and, voila, there was the DB-alike tone.
  14. A little solo arrangement (still rough around the edges) that I've been working on over the last few days. Wishing you all a happy Christmas!
  15. Also applies to the Cort Space and Ibanez EHB.
  16. Gimme A Bullet To Bite On - AC/DC
  17. Phew, it did fit (just). All wired up and yes, series sounds much better (to me anyway) than parallel. Success! After I had to swap the top and bottom terminals because I got the fifty fifty decision wrong and got my north and south the wrong way round. Typical!
  18. I have a 2016 version. Sounds and plays excellent.
  19. F4-10M Thrust Bearings on my B2 (4 for about £5 on the bay)
  20. I have a related Squier, a MVM Jazz 5 which has been defretted, and I do rather like it. I had a play on a Harley Benton 5-string Jazz at a bass bash in Derby a few years ago (can't remember who brought it) and was also impressed by that, though it was a tad heavy. So I'm not being in the slightest bit helpful. Still, everyone will tell you you need a Precision, and a PJ means you can have one without the horrible Precision neck, and with the possibility of making a bit of difference to the P sound, so the HB might be the one to go for. Unless, of course, it's got the horrible Precision neck.
  21. Just loving Adrian Shaw's walking line on this.
  22. The RM800 unexpectedly arrived early today, so I've tried it out at very low home levels. I'm liking what I'm hearing so far through a Barefaced One10. The Compressor and drive are OK actually, but on low settings. Not sure about the sub yet! I'm looking forward to trying it out through my LFSys Monaco in the new year.
  23. Now that Sub Zero has finally moved out, it's taken weeks of airing and spraying to remove the smell of teenage-then-20s youth from his former bedroom. And yes, he was a Lynx abuser.
  24. Well, Steve Parrish did once relate the story of when he was team mates with Bazza, he came into the garage one day to find a young lady (not Mrs Bazza) kneeling in front of Bazza checking how far down his zip would go. Must have been fresh enough then.
  25. I've not had an Ashdown amp with a built in compressor The Sub is ok IMO but an OC-2 is better The Drive is ok as well but again there's a plethora of Bass OD pedals available now In the late 90's I would sometimes boost the drive ( and mid eq) if I was jamming using a plectrum
  26. And the different things that they like cost different amounts of money!
