  1. Past hour
  2. Thank you. I could claim I did it to make people pay attention… but apart from you it didn’t work😂
  3. I'm not able to comment at the moment unfortunately. Maybe someone else on here might be able to chip in?
  4. I've just spent nearly an hour searching for a very specific  three way toggle switch online.  Cheapest ebay sellers in the US were asking 7 quid.  UK sellers online were asking twenty quid.  I found a seller here in China offering them for 40p each.  I'm speechless.

    1. Al Nico

      Al Nico

If the mission is to find the best price you've done well. Is that an LP type switch?

  5. Currently in the process of downsizing my live setup so this is next on the block! Temple audio duo 17 with red sides - a couple of the holes have been widened for previous configurations, in the end if switched to 3m dual lock so there's foamy leftovers on the top but this will scrub off! Included is the Harley Benton AC power supply with the temple audio switched AC mod for easy access Also included is the temple audio di mod I will leave on the led strip lights, just cheapo Amazon job but they do the trick And lastly it comes with a well fitted abs case For the whole package I've put £200 but make me an offer 😊
  6. U.K. postage is around 70 on Shiply so would let this go for £400 delivered Thanks
  7. I don't get the urge to make amps look pristine but make guitars look relic'd. I love the look of a relic"d amp. Amps have a far harder life than guitars on the road. This one looks superb. I'd leave as is. GLWTS
  8. Tempting, but too far away. GLWTS.
  9. I’m almost certain I owned this bass some moons ago. It was an absolute beauty. Someone will be getting a great instrument.
  10. Re fretless playing, it's all horses for courses of course, but for me, I play fretless and fretted very similarly as opposed to seeing each as needing a specific style/technique/genre - I often use fretless at rehearsal and gigs playing ostensible 'standard' bass parts, and always enjoy when someone says "I didn't realise you were playing fretless" (our keys player being a great example, I'd been playing fretless every week for three months before he noticed), which to my mind is far more of a compliment than producing lots of slides and double stops etc and having people say "I love the sound of fretless bass".
  11. Stuff arrived! However, the paint isn't quite as smooth as I'd like it, so there's a little more sanding/painting to do first.
  12. Hi, do you know if the classic 5 measurements match to a SR5? Do they have the same number of frets? Thanks
  13. MXR M85 bass distortion. Great distortion pedal in good condition. Velcro on the bottom. £90 delivered. Any questions just ask 👍
  14. Today
  15. To paraphrase Sir Bob: You gaze into the doorway Of temptation's angry flame And every time you pass that way You'll always hear your name... (and I could be in Manchester some time soon...)
  16. Agree- they were up for it and climbing up to get to the stage, whereas the lady captain was taken by surprise and didn’t look exactly willing plus unhappy after. He probably spoiled a fine moment for her
  17. this was done by tiny tone ...definitely send in the original to copy and for vinterra vi guards you need to ask for the screw holes to be added above and below the control plate because fender in their wisidom copied custom shop which has also got it wrong and missed them off from the original... squire has actually got it correct in this regard. I still need to add the screws themselves.
  18. They're of retirement age themselves so its safe to assume wish to enjoy the fruits of their labour while they can. But its sad for all, especially the workforce.
  19. Yes Linda and Dennis are family. Linda is John Skewes's daughter and she married Dennis J Drumm who was - I believe - at the time JHS Sales Director. He went on to become MD with John Skewes being chairman until he retired due to ill health. Now that he has passed away the Linda and Dennis (themselves now old enough to retire) will have likely sought a buyer but, as the right deal obviously not been found, they will "close" JHS and sell off its intellectual property (such as Vintage, Fret King, Odyssey etc....) in pieces which is perhaps more likely attractive to potential buyers. Its a double-edged situation. The current owners have the absolute right to "cash in their chips" and enjoy a - likely - very comfortable retirement. But if JHS cannot be sold (as seems to be the case) in its entirety then redundancies, with some employees working there many decades, are inevitable. The fact that the company is solvent will allow them time to seek alternative empoyment and will be paid in full whilst still employed. Its a sad situation though and not good for the UK or international music industry.
  20. OK, do you have neck pocket length? My Classic 5 is: Nut width: 44.1mm Neck depth at nut: 20.5mm 12th fret width: 60.9mm Neck depth at 12th fret: 23.8mm Heel thickness: 28.3mm Width at 21st fret: 69mm <- this might be incompatible with your SUB5 neck if it has a 22 fret neck heel. Neck pocket length: 72.5mm FWIW the Steinberger 5 string neck for comparison is: Nut width: 44.1mm Neck depth at nut: 19.3mm 12th fret width: 60.4mm Neck depth at 12th fret: 22mm Heel thickness: 26.6mm Width at 24th fret: 69.1mm Neck pocket length: 77.5mm (estimated)
  21. Yes. To get a firm price, I'll need to weigh the package and enter the measurements. I don't have that information to hand because I don't have the necks yet. I will supply an educated guess based on some assumptions about the weight of the neck but it will be subject to confirmation. Initial enquiries for UPS/DHL express shipping (3-5 days) are eyewatering and I've asked if there are cheaper 'priority' options. I don't know what the shipping companies are smoking but I will look into insured rail and sea as well but the shipping times will be significantly longer. Options for every neck are fingerboard focussed. Options beyond that, e.g. nut widths, number of strings etc. are going to be subject to MoQ, or the custom route is an option.
  22. Nut width 45mm. Width at 12th fret 61.5mm. Width at 22nd fret 69mm. Depth at 1st fret 21.8mm. Depth at 12th fret 23.6. Heel thickness c 27.8mm.
  23. Sounds great. Looks like a fun gig. Daryl
