  1. Past hour
  2. Neck arrived. Looks lovely. Bit of Birdseye in the wood. No sharp fret ends. There's an ever so slight backbow. Beyond this I can't comment as it arrived about ten minutes before we were off out. More later.
  3. Thanks for that, never seen it and thought it was hilarious 😂
  4. I'm still using my iGig case. I must have had it for getting on for 15 years and it still looks relatively new. Such a shame you can't get them anymore. It is a bulky case however - I'm considering getting something slimmer when I fon't need all that extra storage space the iGig offer. A Mono would be great, but they're a lot of money. But fender's FB620 look's like very good value https://www.andertons.co.uk/fender-fb620-electric-bass-guitar-gig-bag/
  5. For sale are my used but not abused EMS 500 19" rack cases. The 2 racks are available separately or together. Both racks are set up the same and currently assembled as 6U but can be reconfigured as 3U, 6U, 9U or 12U with removable top. The lower rack is currently assembled to a board with castors which isn't included in the sale and will be removed before shipping.........unless you really, really want it and then it would be an extra £20 and whatever the increased postage is. These are quite special cases as they are modular construction where you can increase or decrease the number of rack spaces by easily adding or removing side and end panels. All you need is an allen key! You can also use them with a mixer installed in the top and the top panel can be easily removed! See the photo of how I had the units set up for my band PA. (None of the rack equipment is included.) All catches etc are in good condition. Rack to rack depth is 48cm. Weight per 6U assembly is 18lbs / 8.2kg. See the attached brochure for more details. The 6U Gator version of this case weighs 13lbs so slightly lighter but is NOT as rigid, road resilient or has the flexiblity options. As these are modular I would propose they are dismantled and flat packed for shipping to reduce the cost. I'll give details on how to re-assemble if you need but its quite straight forward. I've estimated UK postage to be £15 per unit. 6U Rack Unit 1 - the upper 6U rack unit in the photos on its own - £90 6U Rack Unit 2 - the lower 6U rack unit in the photos on its own - £90 Both 6U rack cases - £160 Board with castors - £20 EMS.pdf
  6. I have just gone through a lot of my studio / PA gear and removed the excess insert and patch cables etc. and have gathered together quite a collection of connectors. Some of the items are brand new never been used but all are in great condition and fully functional. I could be persueded to a bulk buy reduction. Postage would be based on how many and destination. The table below gives as much info on model / style as I know.
  7. For sale is my Smooth Hound wireless system in great condition complete with power supply / adaptors and instructions. This was a backup to my other Smooth Hound unit so hasn't had much use. Postage for the UK would be £5. Website is here.
  8. For sale is my Tech21 MidiMoose pedal. I have had 2 of these in the past and this one is now surplus to requirements. In great, fully functional condition with only slight scuffing on a couple of corners. The pedal is robust and great for sending midi messages to other midi equipment / synths / DAW / effects etc. I used it with my TC G-Major. Powered by either a wall wart (supplied) or more usually a single 9v battery. Here a link to the Tech21 website and operating manual - Tech21. The pedal is simple to use and integrates into any midi system. It has been superceded by the Midi Mongoose a slightly smaller unit with less function switches (usually £150-ish). Shipping in the UK £5.
  9. For sale is my TC Electronic GMajor-2 multi effects unit in fully working condition and updated to the latest firmware. Pictures show it in its usual rack home (rack not included). Although most of the standard effects are aimed at the guitarist I have found the compressor, gate, flanger, phaser and octaver (up and down) etc. to be very useable for bass. I can either factory reset before shipping or leave the presets I have created intalled. It has built in EQ, noise gate, compressor, reverbs, delays, wahs, octaver, tremolo, phaser, flanger etc each of which can be switched in / out from the front panel as required. I have been using this via my amps effects loop and found the compressor (and all the effects) just add their effect without changing the fundamental sound of the bass. Comes with original box and operating manual. You can use the unit in your DAW as well as with your bass / guitar etc. Patches can be easily selected from the front panel or attach a midi-pedal (I used a MidiMoose which is for sale seperately on here). There is also some Vyzor software you can download from the net which allows you to interface your PC with the GMajor-2 to edit and backup your user patches. I have also attached the GMajor-2 and Vyzor manuals below. tc_electronic_g-major_2_manual_english.pdfVyzor_G-Major2_Quick-Start.pdf I estimate UK shipping about £10 to £15.
  10. Yeah, I messaged him yesterday to put an order in - thanks Andy!
  11. Ah, ok I get it 👍 I was thinking 3 options for the coils. Keen to see how the series configuration works out.
  12. Very good condition. Excellent playable short scale bass. Comes with fender case. Would suit a junior player or someone who enjoys short scale. Located in Ilkley, West Yorkshire but also work in Leicester every week.

  13. I'm afraid the neck sold in the interim (there was already quite a lot of interest), sorry
  14. A chum’s wife couldn’t make it to Postmodern Jukebox at G-Live so he offered me her ticket. I do love PMJ’s videos where they mash up modern hits with older musical styles. However, live they took it to another level. Such a fun, fun night out. Not bad seats, either!!!
  15. My Squier Bass VI has a business card shim as described above on it. Works perfectly well. Only thing to watch is that on mine the fit of the neck in the pocket was very snug and removing it popped off a small piece of the body finish. Pity there's no equivalently easy way to make the neck wider...

  18. Agree, plus the way we buy is different now. When I bought my first couple of basses it was go to the local shop and buy what you could afford. No thought of specs, just what was within affordability. Now there’s so much info online all the research as to what spec is desired can be done at home including the purchase.
  19. "Ouch" - The Rutles
  20. Thought I'd add a gratuitous rig picture only because I was playing it last night and it does sound awesome. The amp is a GP7 SM300 running into 2x10 and 4x10 cabs, although I would say these (the cabs) make a bigger difference to the sound than the different trace amps I have tried. I would suggest to the OP that going into the same cab many of the Trace amps will sound similar, but if you start changing the cab as well as the amp you will get a much bigger variation.
  21. Are you going to need to walk any distance with the gig bag on your back? If so you are going to need to try it out yourself. No matter what anyone else says, what suits some people might not suit yourself depending on your height and build. Loads of people like the Mono bags but my M80 is massively uncomfortable for me to walk any distance with it on, as the bottom of the case slaps against the backs of my legs. It's fine for over one shoulder going from the band transport into the venue, but no use for the 30 minute walk to the rehearsal room, which for me was one of the reasons to have a gig bag rather than a hard case. I'd also be wary about the "advantages" of lots of pockets space to carry other items. IME they tend to make what is an already heavy gig bag unwieldy. Whatever you choose, your best bet is to buy on line and then you can return it if it isn't right for you
  22. Bought a ZVEX Mammoth. Excellent comms, well packed and fast shipping. Recommended
  23. I absolutely love the remix, the whole vibe, magic
