Sushi Box FX Grand Slampegg with NOS Valve - £350Delivered in UK. Purchased direct from Sushi Box at the beginning of the year. Boxed and in mint condition. I replaced the valve with a JAN TUNG SOL Black Glass NOS valve which was highly recommended by B15 enthusiasts at an additional cost of £75. https://www.sushiboxfx.com/product/grand-slampegg/ https://www.langrex.co.uk/products/6sl7gt-vt229-jan-tung-sol-black-glass-nos-valve-tube-lc30/ It is a beautiful pedal but I don't have room for it on my pedalboard so it has seen little use as my main preamp is a Caveman Audio BP1. Potential buyers are welcome to demo in Glasgow.

Just got a EBS MB3, need a cheap IR loader for headphone practice.

I canceled the order for the IR loader, as I realised i dont really need it. Loving the EBS Microbass 3 just as it is. I cant see me ever going back to Sansamp now. It's not perfect, but it's as close as I can get with one box. -

I bought my new WAL custom fretless in 80's for £740 and kept it less than a year because of a dead note on G string. WAL didn't want to know so i just traded it in for i think it was a Ric. Took a huge drop and now on hindsight i reckon it was possibly something silly like an unseated saddle that could have caused it but being fairly young and no great knowledge of setting basses up i just moved it on. Oh the silliness of those years. I reckon i would still have had that bass as i loved the tone and feel of it. Dave

In case it is not obvious, the only Toneprints that work with the bass amps are the ones under TonePrints Bass Amps. And also, because it is not obvious, you can not create or edit any TonePrints for the bass amps, you can only use the ones provided. The editor feature is not available.

Measure up your Ashown box. Find the volume of your new box. One of these experts will cheerfully work out what port length is required to emulate the original design tuning in the half size boxes.

As you point out there is only one place where the fundamental makes the greatest string movement and that is the antinode. That's at the 12th fret for an open string but as you point out the middle of the string is different for each fretted note. (I realise you know this of course but others may not have looked at it this way) That made me ask the question: are there any notes where the fundamental sits directly over the pickups so I took a ruler to my bass. The answer was interesting: the 22nd fret on my Jazz bass is 28cm fom my bridge so the bit of vibrating string fretted there has the antinode/loudest point 14cm from the bridge and that is exactly where the neck pickup sits. It's more or less where the pickup is on my P-bass too. Coincidence or did Leo know something?t Anyway for any point along the sting we can work out how far the stiring will move for the fundamental and all the harmonics and you can work out a 'frequency plot' for every pickup position. We all know that there's less bass from the bridge pickup and you can get a bassier tone by picking strings further away from the bridge. To save anyone doing the maths there are bits of software on the web which will allow you to slide the pickups closer to the bridge or away from it and they will calculate and print out the signal. https://till.com/articles/PickupResponseDemo/index.html

Yeah it’s not something I’d take out, despite them saying it’ll slip into a gig bag, it’s quite heavy

How was your open mic or jam night last night?
Stub Mandrel replied to tauzero's topic in General Discussion
Went to an OM after my rehearsal last night. Our guitarist was on bass. Played four songs on an MM Stingray, first time ever, and it was nice. Grapevine, Paddy, McGinty's Goat(!), Crazy Little Thing and something that I can't remember. -

The Openhagen is beautiful, but I think a large part of the high price is due to the fold flat capability that isn't really a requirement if it stays permanently in a living room. It makes postage and transportation to other locations cheaper/easier, but I think a beautiful non collapsible design could be a lot simpler and therefore cheaper. A non collapsible design could still be shipped as a flat pack to be assembled in situ.
