But if a real big gap, double foam can be wobbly, so maybe a small block of wood, then single foam.

As a bass guitar driver, it’s very limited. Some of this can be overcome by using multiples of this driver (410 and 810 for example)

Collected the DB today, I decided to go for Innovation super silver strings. I reckon the guy did a decent job on the bridge and it is what it is. Labour charge £50, I made sure he was good for a few beers 👍 Just need to hone my mediocre skills now 😁

Grant bought a cab from me. Met up with just before he was going on stage to support the legendary Hawkwind. Top bloke and I hope you had a cracking gig. Lovely GP12 too. 🙂

Bill, according to the Eminence web site these were "Recommended for professional audio and bass guitar applications as a woofer/mid-bass or midrange in vented monitors, satellites and multi-way enclosures." I'm guessing that they were trying to cover all the bases (no pun intended) by implying they could be employed for a wide range of purposes.

Played for my Neice’s and nephew-in-law’s (is that a thing) wedding yesterday at the beautiful Creeksea Manor in Burnham-on-Crouch. Keen readers who may recall I had a particularly painful experience at last week’s gig will be pleased to to know this one went much, much better. You may also recall that last week was challenging due to personal reasons, that I have taken steps to address. As I was party of the wedding party for the day, I had to leave the other load in and do the majority of the setup. This massively helped me, not just my time being involved in the wedding celebrations, but also relieved some of the pressure I’ve been feeling lately with band stuff. So by the time the band had to make themselves scarce whilst the guest sat down for the wedding breakfast, most of the work was done. Just a case of plugging in my gear and a couple of mics afterwards and a quick sound check. Everything was still dialled in from last week, so soundcheck was quick and easy. The reception was a in a huge marquee, with a permanent DJ booth at the head of the dance floor, meaning the band were somewhat crammed in the corner, but still more space than we’ve had in some places. Usefully it also ment the soft drapes caught errant reflections and sounded great “straight out of the box”. Although it was quite a warm evening - somehow the thunderstorm the weather reports promised amounted to no more than a rumble and a couple of minutes of drizzle - but you could feel the mugginess in the air! Hazel, our dep co-lead singer for the night did a fantastic job, and worked the crowd well with Liam, our other singer. At one point they both got into the crowded dancefloor getting people to join in on Parklife which was a particular highlight. Another highlight was the bride’s brother sang Teenage Dirtbag (with my wife doing the girls bit in the middle). When the bride first asked us if he could do it ages ago I didn’t even know if he could sing. Turns out he can’t, but he’s very enthusiastic. Thankfully he was in time and more on less in key, but moreover, he love every minute of it and the crowd lapped it up. Two hours of rock, pop, party and cheese later we were done and knackered. I received a number of compliments from guests, including people who hadn’t seen us play before but had heard good things. So I’m glad we didn’t disappoint. A couple of people even said they were glad they had a good band as the DJ was rather lacklustre. Most importantly my Neice and new Nephew were over the moon with their day and evening, and I went to bed feeling a lot lighter in mood!

Maybe not described it properly. When i unscrew it the pick up only comes up a little but nowhere near as much as i expected. Looks like i have enough screw length but i need to add deeper or more foam packing below the pick up but was wondering what people use. ? Dave

Thanks, that makes perfect sense. Hopefully when I speak with Ashdown they can confirm a few things that will make it clearer. So much help and assistance from everyone, I'm quite humbled.

I unashamedly love Reverend as a brand. Both their basses and guitars just look so cool and and great twists on classic silhouettes. Plus the build quality and pickups are great. Even though I don't own one, I reckon it was time to start a fan thread so people can post their basses (and guitars) if they want But the colours, man the colours. Just always doing something a bit different. Today is no different. A few new releases and I'm a fan of all 3 of the basses.

Longer screws?

Like it or not, it's Ozzy's time as a reality TV star which made him the odd cultural icon he became. His life & passing would still have been massively celebrated within the metal community, but there would have been very little of this blanket coverage if he hadn't been all over the telly with his catchphrases.
