They should do a Peter Frampton / Richie Sambora version that lets you do talkbox effects.

Just make it compulsory for everyone in the country to go and see a band at least once a week.
-
How? How can the history of the genre not include these?

I am selling this well-known power amplifier, 500 (really big) watts. 8-4-2 ohms. In very good cosmetic condition and works perfectly. What’s special about is the implementation of an output transformer which would not have been needed in a conventional solid state amp. Top quality. Shipped carefully packaged (and can declare at a lower value)

There is a lot more information here. Bass Strings — Country Joe & The Fish
-
Does anyone in or around Edinburgh have one of these yet, now that my Sandberg is finally sold I can start to think a bit about a new one. I definitely don't like the longer scale Dingwalls, but I think the 35"-32" (ish) 5 string sounds ideal for me, but I would like to try one first. Happy to provide coffee and cake if anyone would let me noodle on one for a few minutes.

So thats this measurement on the right hand side, I would have thought so as well, but always good to check

That's correct. Looks like its all going well When the glue thickens I put the container in a bowl of hot water or just stand it on a radiator and the glue softens and flows more easily. I did that in the video. I've got all sorts of woodworking gear including a table saw circular saws, jigsaw etc but last year I bought a plunge saw with an aluminium track. It's a revelation for cutting panels, so much easier than manuvering an 8'x4' sheet of ply through the table saw even with the sliding table on the saw. It's a great tool for cutting speaker panels. It's what I used for the prototype 8.

I've finally accepted that the fine people at Fender are never going to call and offer me a signature model, so I've taken matters into my own hands: I've gone for a "what if Jim Root played bass?" kind of vibe. Allparts body EMG JX pickups LHZ preamp (just a fun experiment as they usually go in Spectors with PJ pickups. Sounds pretty good though. Way more natural and "woody" than I was expecting. The bass and treble controls are on the stacked pot in between the two volumes. It's in that position because I accidentally enlarged the wrong hole, but I quite like how it looks and have convinced myself that it's a logical place for it! Hipshot Kickass bridge and ultralite tuners. The neck is a Fender Player 2 neck. Lovely rolled edges, but came with lacquer all over the frets. I've done a level crown and polish, so it's all gone now. Tuned to BEAD. Discovering tapered B strings has been a revelation to me. It sounds and feels great, even at the standard 34 inch scale length. It's bothering me a bit that the pickup screws, jack nut and saddle strings are not black - might have to sort that out in due course!

My understanding is it would be 87mm total lenght of the tube so from the front of the flange.

I've just noticed that the tuners and serial number decal on these is remarkably similar to my Sire V6. Does anyone know if they are made by the same manufacturer in Indonesia?

And a second pair with maple fretboards. And a fretless one. Maybe cram in a 5-string as well…

This is clearly pre-refin, the dark tone in a b&w is right for a deep red. Great to have such a record and his wife seems pleased it's gone to someone who cares.

I’ve got that book, I haven’t read it all yet but it’s a really great read

Here is another one for a bit of laugh... I enquired about a replacement black jack plate from Ernie Ball with Andertons and they told me that EB have opened up their online shop to international orders. Perfect! Can now order direct. So this is what I wanted: Taxes and duties would take it to around £10 - £11. All set to order one - until I saw the delivery costs: For something that could fit in a envelope? REALLY!?! Or am I deluded?

Hi The plans for the 8" talk about a port length of 64mm inside diameter and 87mm length. I've printed the port and the flange as one piece. Do I include the flange height in the port length OR is it 87mm from inside the baffle board OR 87mm from the front of the baffle board OR is it 87mm from the front of the flange? My assumption is that it's 87mm from the front of the flange, so if the flange is 10mm and the plywood is 12mm then the port inside the cabinet is 87-10-12 = 55mm. Sorry for the dumb question. Thanks Rob
