petecarlton started following Feedback for noirpunk

I've just sold a Höfner gigbag to Jarrad, and the transaction was a delight from start to finish. Very happy, and very happy to recommend him to Basschatters who might be dealing with him in the future.

MacDaddy started following Behringer Vamp2

I had the bass version, because it also had guitar amp sims. The Marshall sim was particularly good. I thought some of the FX were excellent, the chorus, delay, and the simple but effective compressor.

Dood started following Bass amp for acoustic band setups
-
And if you're looking for an amplifer with a suitable feature set then I recommend the Bergantino B|Amp (second time I've mentioned it today!) as it has high pass and low pass filters along withe a feedback destoryer (handy for acoustic instruments) and an fulllly parametric 4 band EQ rather than being forced to use what a manufacturer says you should have for your EQ. Oh and there was one for sale recenty in the ads section too.

Thanks. I did try that but it didn't produce the desired results.

Leftbass started following Fender Jazz 2007 Electron Blue
-
Very nice bass but surplus to requirements. An unusual colour for us leftys', Electron Blue. 2007, Alder body, Rosewood on Maple neck. Original pickups but the bridge gave way so I replaced it with a high mass one. I have a white pearloid scratchplate that came with it included. Not my cuppa! Great sounding, I used it mainly for a Paul Rodgers Trib and the bridge pickup is smooth and tight for those lines. All in all it's a rare thing and hope someone wants to look after it. I will include a Hiscox case for safe travels. Had it on ebay and I thought I'd sold it but the guy was very strange and hasn't followed through on the bid. Beware the 0 feedback rating! I would consider a trade for a Fender Precision (only) of equal quality , ie Player models or Mexican (If thats allowed) Thanks, Paul

King Tut started following Wireless Distorting with High Output Basses
-
Ive used four different wireless systems over the years and they've all seemed to suffer from some distortion (not the nice kind) particularly when digging in with high output basses. I was gigging last night with a passive jazz (quarter pounder pups) and even with that I noticed it a couple of times when playing hard over the bridge pickup. I'm wondering if this a 'thing' with wireless systems that we just have to live with or whether it's just the systems that I've used and need to splash out a bit of dosh on something better. So far I've used a Senheiser Freeport, Line6 G30, Xvive and currently on Lekato WS50. I'd be interested to hear your opinions and learn from your experience. Cheers.

I think Ric's plasticware (and shinyware in general) is the best in the business.

A JazzRay! No, er... A StingJazz... Aha! A JazzMan! That's better. Something to do with Flea, perhaps..? Interesting how several of us are going down the same route and creating something unique. 😎 Mine is a sort of Vintage & Modern theme - taking the things I like best from my walnut Status S2-Classic and my workhorse American Original 60's Jazz. Typically, you can't get the Fender Pure Vintage 64 pickups anymore, but I've already got a set of the 66's (from the current Am.Vintage II) in another bass. So in keeping with the '66 theme, I've ordered some Gotoh lollipop tuners in black, like the rest of the hardware.

That would be great, but we're talking places like Cheltenham if we go south, which is only tangentially Midlands. Then there's Warwick / Leamington Spa etc. Again, we're a bit on the western fringe. I realise that Nottingham, where we had the one I organised back in - 2021, was it? Or 2022. Anyway, it didn't suit everyone, by any means. Google says Meriden! Or Fenny Drayton. Not much help. Sorry.

What are your irrational prejudices? I have some bonkers ones...
Terry M. replied to kwmlondon's topic in General Discussion
This was on my list but somehow I tried this in Bass Direct over the weekend and it followed me home. I'm really not a fan of white pickguards but this bass was all sorts of shades of amazing in both feel and sound palette. I even liked the price. I had to do it. There are options to configure a darker colour on the Public Peace website but not sure I can be bothered 🙂 Shout out to Adam their newest staff member. Really cool guy. -

Bassassin started following Possible to ID a Rickenfaker?
-
Chushin Gakki, Japan, mid 70s. Pickups may have date codes. On the whole these are very, very good copies. Might have been branded Shaftesbury but these turned up with a bunch of names, and if the bass is in Sweden it probably had a local importer or retailer's brand. Odd comment about the 'cheapest possible quality' parts. The pickguard's a bit of plastic, not sure the bits of plastic Rickenbacker use are made of superior material! The closed-back, cast button tuners are Gotohs, and should be perfectly serviceable. Shergold used them back in the 80s. Eko never made a 4001 type but Italian manufacturer Gherson made some nice ones.

What can I say? Pete is an absolute legend, the Höfner gig bag I bought arrived quickly and well packed. We had a great conversation over the transaction too. Thank you Pete!
