  2. Yes, I've been pleased with the mic quality on both my Zoom H8 and the Tascam DR-40X I bought previously. I bought my Sennheiser e385 online, purely from on reading reviews, but I liked it. Lately I've been using a Sennheiser ME3 headset, like an aerobics instructor. It's great for keeping a set distance, but does seem to suffer more from feedback. Being condenser I suppose that's unavoidable. Oh for a music shop locally where I could go and try a half dozen mics before buying!
  3. I can still recollect that lovely Trace smell thinking about the 3 amps I've had over the years. Top quality gear indeed.
  4. What? Get paid to pursue a "hobby"?
  5. I know it exists in France and in other places. Just imagine. https://www.bigissue.com/news/ireland-basic-income-scheme-artists/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwY2xjawNxok9leHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETBtWTREamlHeXRnSEFpUGdEAR78RHRdvuSVagV9jVXJMOWNsYvbbd12fayeUuStFL0rbLQvJoHNz0oRyj3QnA_aem_lbdeRpo0P1km6wVd0wQ_Eg#Echobox=1761385832
  6. There's a copy of that very book, up for sale on the site right now - nothing to do with me btw. Info only.
  7. I had some covers made by them a few years back for my Roland JC120 and also PJB Briefcase and they look exactly the same design and quality as the barefaced cabs. That said, who knows if the spec for BF ones is slightly different in some way. If they are it's pretty minor.
  8. Before it slips what is left of my mind, best wishes to all those attending for an absolutely spiffing day. (NB That was 'spiffing', in case anyone thought my 'L' tab wasn't working there. 'Tab' - oh God, here we go again ...) Have a great one folks.
  9. Hi Mods, is it possible in notifications settings to put in search terms when hoping to hear if a particular item goes on sale in the marketplace? I do fairly regular searches, but still have FOMO on stuff.
  10. *REDUCED-NOW £90* Phil Jones Bass Bighead HA-1 Headphone Amp for sale. Excellent condition. Includes all cables and original box (couple of small tears on the box) Price includes UK postage.
  11. D'Addario Pro Steels - £26 on Amazon EPS165-5
  12. Not had this long but it’s a surprising little amp. Lots of tonal variety and duct power for rehearsals and reasonable gigs into 4 Ohms Good condition and comes in a little laptop bag which does the job. Few marks on the bottom of the case. Here’s a link to the manual https://medias.audiofanzine.com/files/manuel-taurus-qube-300-480830.pdf
  13. Raspberry Beret - Prince
  14. Fabulous looking body...
  15. My collection of "big iron" amplifiers. All still working perfectly. The Hartke was my gigging amp throughout the 90's and if my circumstances changed, I'd happily use it again, until death do us part.
  16. Saw them live once, 15 years or so ago. They were polished, but played so like the original tracks that you might as well have listened to the CD (youngsters - ask your parents). When I see someone live I hope for soemthing a bit extra.

  18. Lovely! 😍 GLWYS.
  19. QSC CP12 Active PA Speaker 1000 Watts One of two - priced individually or for a small discount if sold as a pair. This speaker is as new and has not been used since purchase. It comes with additional QSC waterproof cover for outdoor use. Very powerful speakers however I’m downsizing and selling my larger portable PA gear. Street price is £579 cheapest I can find so this is a good saving. The covers cost an extra £67. The user manual is included. I have two of these for sale. I can knock off £40 if you buy the pair. Pickup definitely preferred but talk to me if this is impossible. UK only. Postage would be at buyer’s cost and I’d need to source packaging as the boxes have been recycled. These speakers get glowing reviews in Sound on Sound magazine - https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/qsc-cp-series I own a pair of QSC CP8s which are perfectly fine for keyboard monitoring and rehearsal PA so these aren’t needed now for personal use. 20. As I've only had a digital mixer for a relatively short time, EQing "the Room" hasn't been an option without the complexity of additional Graphic equalisers (and for pub gigs they're just impractical). Until now I've been trying to get the channel EQ's and Monitor EQ's sorted and have only had a basic EQ on the "Mains" to deal with the two things that are always an issue (harsh peak at 1.8kHz and HPF low end). Now I need to move forward and concentrate on the "room" ....... which should irritate the band less and be relatively simple (🤣).
  21. Very few mics are flat and the mics in those Zooms are better than many. Most vocal mics have restricted frequency responses (no point in frequencies absent from human voices anyway) but most have some lift in the upper end to bring in some brightness. The result is that not all mics suit the same person and it's probably even more personal than your choice of bass. My duo partner and I have tries swapping his Shure Beta for my Sennheiser, we swapped back after one song. They are similar prices and both from good makers but wow do I prefer mine. It might be familiarity of course but if you can borrow other peoples mics it's really worth experimenting before you buy.
  22. Today
  23. @Serginhobass - excellent demo, thanks!
  24. i've had good experiences with B&Q too and once they start I've never been charged any extra.
  25. Deceptive Bends, tho.. what an album. Band name source has since been debunked 🙂
  26. Doh! I hit return too soon, so here are some pictures. The first post is just manufacturer's blurb. Whoever wrote it obviously never played a bass. The value of this is that its completely linear - just plug in and play, no Eq or anything so that what you get is what's coming from your bass, no more, no less I've taken this on holiday before now to enable a bit of silent noodling on headphones whilst the rest of the family scream at each other... (good, closed back headphones are recommended)
