  3. Me neither, looks to be a bit like triggers broom
  4. Hi I bought this at the start of the year through this forum, but try as I have, I’m a 4 string kinda guy….so this has to go. That said, this bass plays and sounds so, so good. It’s a 1st generation RSD ME, which has had some changes. The preamp has been changed to a 2 band Glockenlang which allows the bass to also retain a tone control if switched to passive mode. ( sounds killer) The original logo has been switched for the newer Sadowsky Metro Express one (far nicer IMHO). The scratchplate has a carbon wrap on, which could easily be removed and returned to the original white if required. This is a seriously good bass that defies its RSD pedigree, it’s plays so well, the fretwork is great, the build quality is far better than you may expect. If this was a 4 string, it would be going nowhere. On which note, I would welcome a trade for a 4 string version of this, either 1st or second gen, with a cash adjustment if required. Or a Spector Legend Neck Thru. Collection or meet within 1hr of Milton Keynes. Any questions, fire away.
  5. I’d be more worried about the proximity of a bishop to young children…😈
  6. Well the seller of the 5 did contact me and it would have been possible etc . However after a lot of thought , I’ve decided not to go ahead with getting a 5 string . I’m too used to 4’s . I’m going to keep my warwick for now . I’m torn between getting my Jack Daniels bass set to BEAD or the Warwick .🤔 @Mottlefeeder how was the experience with detuning your Warwick ?
  7. The 'I can't hear myself at all - so will turn everything up full and then muck about with cables and power/mute switches etc' deserves severe punishment (or at least needing to buy the band a round of drinks). It's a pet hate of mine, I know it is easily done but is real amateur hour stuff that sounds terrible if there are punters within earshot, potentially breaks equipment, and is really dangerous for hearing. .....that's not to say I haven't done it myself though!
  8. The notching at the neck heel would suggest to me that it’s had work done on the truss rod or been replaced, which would put me off, and is there any routing under the pickguard from when an extra pickup was added?, it’s not one for me personally
  9. Oh my 😍
  10. Anybody got a tab for the bassline, please?
  11. Perfect transaction with Stew (as expected!) Really easy and friction free - fantastic comms and friendly throughout. As it should be and Stew is an absolute pillar of our community!
  12. My 2003 CAR Bongo has the full-size tuners (the other ones I owned had the smaller, lightweight tuners). Even compared to that, the Sterling ones look wrong, like the tuner shafts are too long.
  13. I'll PM you my therapist's contact details 👍
  14. It'd get us out of the "tariff trap" - almost all the wood that's used in the construction of the guitars comes from either Canada (spruce, maple) or South America (mahogany, rosewood). We might have to stop making guitars with Brazilian rosewood entirely because of the tariffs (we also use East Indian rosewood on some of the cheaper instruments). The stuff from Canada is partly covered by the existing USMCA deal (the updated NAFTA deal from Tangerine Palpatine's first term) but not entirely. Having another facility in Europe or the Far East would bypass all of this crap for rest-of-the-world sales. We used to have the old Sigma range made in the Far East (various places, mostly Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia and Korea), but we sold those off back in 2007 to some German company who now make cheap, Temu-level sh*t using the same brand name, which is a travesty. One of the best acoustic guitars I ever played was a Japanese Sigma DM-5 (basically a D-28) - every bit as good as the US-made instrument.
  15. The Bongos had full sized tuners for the first 20 years in production. Not sure why it's a weird look as it was the only look all that time.
  16. Seasoned musicians but mentally is a whole different ball game. 😂 Serious nice guys who have kept in touch with me for a few yrs now after i sold them my lighting rig during Covid. Basschat is great for making good friends. At some point i'm gonna see that band. Dave
  17. £110 posted for the daddy Octave.
  18. Hi guys, I spotted this on Bass Directs website, it’s a pretty thing but going from the description it strikes me that this bass is a bit of a basket case bitsa - https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/fender-precision-bass-1962-sherwood-green-refinish-pre-owned/ I’m in now way affiliated with them just seems a lot of money for what it is? ” 1962 Fender Precision Bass for sale, this bass plays beautifully but is made up of a few different parts. Replacement alder body, originally had a bridge pickup too (filled and refinished in Sherwood Green) 1962 Fender neck, had an ebony fretless fingerboard fitted at some point, but now wears a rosewood fingerboard, there is evidence of the fretless side dots on the neck now. Non original pots, non original pickguard.” What do you guys think?
  19. Well, thats not how it is supposed to work!
  20. I met someone called Ged for the first time after a couple of years on a bikers' email list. "Hi Ged" I said. "It's bloody Jed!" he replied. As there were several of us meeting up, "it's bloody Jed" got deployed a few times. I wonder if Geddy Lee has the reverse problem.
