Repeats, Sine, Codas etc. It's the accepted way of reducing the repetition in the chart itself but, with my approach, I am writing EXACTLY what is being played so repetition is often not exact so, unless it is identical, I don't use repeats/sines/Codas etc. Sometimes I do, if the repeats are exactly the same but, with Jazz tunes, this is rarely the case. As for notes, key signatures can be as much as a hindrance as a help when there are loads of chromatic phrases and changing keys. I just got out of the habit of alloting key signatures. It's something I need to think about more carefully.

Duff's intro bass part on Sweet Child Of Mine. Loads on that. Everything Type O Negative ever did. I swear Pete Steel played Chorus as the instrument and just used a bass to do it. It's a funny effect. Used badly and it just makes everything sound like crap Jaco or generic rock from 1985.

This thread reminded me of my own garage conversion project last year. I struggled with that same hollow echo until I tried the acoustic slat wood wall panels from Decor & Decor. I started with just a few samples in walnut on the long wall and was amazed at how much it cut down on the noise and even made the room feel a bit cozier. Once I saw the difference, I added matching panels on the opposite side and it really transformed the space into a liveable studio, and it helped keep the room warmer, too. If you’re after a straightforward solution that looks great and works well, those panels might be worth a try

Welcome CF. -
I like a lot of their pedals. Never had any trouble with them. I had that amp too, no problems for me but I didn't like the Tube Tone drive sound. Was neither tube sounding or more modern and it needed a completely different EQ setting for the drive being on or off. I liked the concept though. It just needed doing properly!

Competition prize! Nice. I never win anything! Just a tip though - It's a "Sterling" with an E. I'm not being spelling police it's just that if someone is using the forum search function to see if there is one on sale the incorrect spelling might not show your post in the search results. I know this from experience - I once got a set of very expensive Lollar pickups on ebay for about a third of their value and I suspect the wrong spelling of the item helped hide it from other bidders - I was the only bidder.

Man, chorus live is like magic when it hits right. Adds that dreamy wobble and spacey vibe, especially killer on moody tunes or when you’re doing melodic fills

Sold a 3Leaf pedal to Dan this week. A real pleasure to deal with. Many thanks

I'd take either 🤦♂️

I was watching a YT review of a Bass Fly Rig and the reviewer said he could not do without chorus. I lovr the sound of chorus but how well does it work live, and on what type of song?

A reasonable note. Therefore you write B flats (Bb), because of the jazz background. Geography, what do you mean by that?

Yeah, Rob Mullarkey feels like he’s playing through the bass, not just on it. Like the instrument disappears and it’s just pure expression. That combo of freedom, groove, and taste is so rare it’s technical mastery but never for show. Always in service of the music -
Hello everyone, Having upgraded both my touring and backup boards to Cioks power supplies, this is now surplus to requirements. It has recently been serviced and re-capped, and everything works well. It comes with a useful amount of standard 2.1mm pedal leads in both short & long lengths, including the Voodoo Labs 18V adaptor lead, and a pair of mounting brackets. Also included, but not photographed, is a brand-new Thomann UK kettle/IEC lead. Everything is in used, but good overall condition, and ready to go to work! EDIT: Now just £65 for the lot, which includes mainland UK postage. No offers or trades please. Please message me if interested, and thanks for looking! Etienne

Hofner 500/1 Violin Bass ‘63 Artist Series Classic reissue of the famous Violin bass. Top: selected spruce wood Back and sides: flamed maple Neck: 2-Piece maple/beech Fretboard: Rosewood 22 Frets Nut width 42 mm Scale: 760mm (30") Pickups: 2 Staple humbuckers Electronics: Höfner HA2-B: control panel with 2 volume controls, 2 on/off switches, rhythm/solo switch for volume boost Finish: Poly lacquer, high-gloss Includes Höfner case Made in Germany The bass is in excellent condition and is currently strung with Pyramid nylon flats. It has all the tools, stickers, hang tag, inspection tag and manual. See pictures for condition. Action is low and intonation good. It’s a beautiful bass but I tend to play my Hofner ‘Cavern’ bass more because of the ergonomics of the pickup position. This model is based on the 1963 version of the bass. I have owned several of the reissues and original models of all eras and origins. This plays the best and sounds as good as any. It comes with the original Hofner case that has some minor cosmetic wear. Pickup preferred but I can post in the UK at buyer’s expense.
