IIRC, the volume pot is a 25 kOhms linear type, so not fantastic in passive mode. My guess is that the pot is simply dead...

I would love a proper Aria SB. Or for them to do their modern ones in left handed which they weirdly don't.

It’s amazing! What on earth was I thinking putting this up?? 🤣.Been re acquainting myself with this beauty over the last couple of weeks and just back from a funk/soul band rehearsal and wow, with a bit of mid boost this thing cuts like a knife through a mix . So I’m going to withdraw this please, I’m not ever gonna get something better than this! Cheers x -

Hi all. I have just recently had a new set of pick ups and a bartolini preamp(active/passive) installed in my bass. I've noticed however, that the volume pot doesn't kick in, until at least 90%.. And also when switched to passive mode, the volume is almost completely lost. I've tried different trim pot settings, but still no improvement. I'm just asking if anyone has any ideas as to why. Thanks

Squier Sonic Bronco Bass in Ultra Violet in excellent condition. I swapped the weak pickup out for a Sire D5 single coil and popped in a Varitone tone pot I had laying about, just for something a bit different. This was me looking at short-scale basses as I'd never had one but hardly used so time to move it on. Frets levelled and and all set-up with rounds, plus put some Tru-Oil on the lifeless bare maple neck. Happy to post.

I had an Aeron, changed it for a Humanscale Freedom Headrest in black leather, very comfortable, looks great and the armrest fold flat to the seat so it's great in the studio when playing bass. https://uk.humanscale.com/products/seating/freedom-headrest-executive-chair They're not cheap new, but I paid £250 for mine off eBay from an office clearance.

Squier Sonic Precision in Lime Green (Ltd colour apparently) and all very shiny! Bought new direct from Fender but part of the bass herd thinning and in excellent condition as it was my lounge bass just used at home for noodling on. Frets levelled, nut-groove height sorted and all fully setup with rounds and good to go. I popped a better quality loom in there and Tru-Oiled the neck as the bare maple was just a bit characterless, plus oiled up the fretboard which is rosewood. Happy to post.

Yeah that's true. It's like some people rate TI's and LaBella Flats and to me, those aren't in my top 5 flats. IMO/IME, I reckon it's how the strings mate to your pickup. I've tried the same string on several basses (p-bass and jazz) and they sound garbage. Then I put them on my Warwick and they sound perfect. So on my Warwick I have GHS Flats, my parts p-bass with MEC actives I have Dunlop Flats and my daughters p-bass with DiMarzio Relentless Middle pickups has the Fender 9050L strings. But yeah, definitely horses for courses 😊👍🏽

I bought a US jazz off a guy in clacton on sea one Saturday about 7 years ago, and he gave me an old HH VS bassamp and an Ashdown 15 cab he no longer wanted, I think he was moving out of his flat, I’ve still got the amp, a few of the knob’s have a slight crackle but it’s still going and sounds quite good . a few years later an elderly gentleman came round to see my Ashdown mag amp I had advertised, he hadn’t played for years and wanted to get back into it, he bought the amp and I gave him the cab for free

Dakota Red Squier Precision 40th Anniversary Vintage Edition in excellent as new condition and fitted with a series/parallel pull/push volume knob. I've recently moved house and realised I have too many Precisions so I need to thin the herd. Bought new on a whim and only left the house when I moved 🙂 The series/parallel is a subtle thing but noticeable, which is probably why they never really caught on with p-basses. All fully set-up with rounds on and good to go. Price includes postage, or collection and I'll knock a bit off. If I can find a basic gig-bag I'll throw it in.
