bassjim started following New to IEMs question. Tone

Hello all that are experienced in IEMs Making the move to IEMs I have had some UE 5s made for me , custom moulds. Main bass is a passive Jazz. Sadowsky Pre Amp pedal. EBS amp and cab. If the room is good I tend to get a consistent sound and have used this set up for over 10 years. Main band is mostly IEMs except for me so its time to join in. Its the boomy reflective rooms that are one of the main reasons I'm now going down this route. So far I have found if I roll the passive tone either almost down or off depending on pickup choice the sound in my IEMs is not bad. Very doable. Thing is when I hear live recordings out front and I'm happy with the sound, my passive tone control tends to be well up. The IEMs sound terrible if my passive tone is well up so have I now compromised my happy place sound wise? The monitor gizmo on the tablet lets me eq my own IEM channel and remove the top end but its seems its just not enough roll off Any advice , tips would be greatly appreciated x

2009 SX 70’s Jazz Bass Fretless Project Sale / Exchange
basslondon replied to basslondon's topic in Basses For Sale
I’ve just uploaded additional shots of the fret slots on the neck. As you can see the lower side binding has virtually no interference from the fret removal process. The top side wasn’t quite so lucky …..not totally dreadful by any means but the lower side of the neck is where you would fell any disruption to the surface more so that’s good. Hopefully these additional photos help. -

The things that caught my eye after the ‘tie’, are the leopard print DM’s being worn by the chap on the right (I’m guessing guitarist, drummers are more about practicality when it comes to footwear), I’m liking those.

Fantastic evening at the pasadero lounge in Redhill last night. Funk/soul covers, but we do have a 3 piece brass section that really adds some power! Not done many gigs together yet so there are certain bits that need tightening up a bit, but hey! the audience loved it and were up from the word go . Used my smithy 5 through my trusty puma 900 and a single LFsys Monza and it ate it! Very confidence inspiring little rig. Bar manager seemed well happy and wants us back . Job done! X😊 Also included, a nice picture of our drummers crouch ! 🤣

I don’t know. It’s a valid question. I don’t think we need to reach for elasticated trousers and cagoules, but as we get older our body shape changes and a couple of minor tweaks can work wonders.

I remember my mum sewing me a fluffy, leopard skin print sleeve for the strap of my very first bass. -
Hi' i own a 3 Leaf GR2 & a VFE Mini Mu the GR2 is modelled on the Lovetone Meatball Circuit' & the Mini Mu after the Mutron.. both are discontinued & to my ears cover just about all of the classic filter sounds' the GR2 for up & the Mini Mu for down sweeps... The GR2 is way better than both of the Wonderloves that came after it... I.M.H.O.

For sale. Tonex amp mod pedal. Pretty awesome collection of amp models and basic effects in one little pedal. Bought this as a back up for my Quad Cortex and I was surprised (and slightly horrified if truth be told considering it was about a grand cheaper 🤦🏻♀️) by how good the amp models and sounds are on this thing. Since then it's basically sat in a box and I've been trying to stick to my new year's resolution of offloading gear I don't use. Condition is very good. Stuck with Dual Lock tape underneath.
