  1. Past hour
  2. I actually prefer a direct sale, but it always depends. Maybe you can send me your ideas via pm.
  3. Yeah, but I bet you feel just a little bit dirty though, don’t you?
  4. Man. About a month ago this was on my radar. None in London came up so when a genzler Magellan 350 combo came up I bought it. Always the way man 🙄. This amp has such a sweet tone. Don’t think the misses would appreciate me having two rigs for the house. GLWTS mate.
  5. I recently went to spend a sunny afternoon in a pub garden watching a bass playing mate of mine’s band. Bunch of 60+ Essex geezers all pleasant enough, helped them set up etc( all fine so far. One of them was wearing white shirt, white slacks and white shoes. There was some banter about him being in Miami Vice, and whether he was Crockett or Tubbs. He replied “so long as I ain’t that black C***t!” Being half Mauritian, so of mixed race and little bit brown I answered in a dead-pan humourless tone “No, I expect that’d be me.” I think that it went straight over their numb-skulled heads. I couldn’t leave as Steve was driving. Suffice to say I won’t be offering my services if they ever require a dep.
  6. It's pure bullshít, that's his left and right hands combined technique, nothing else. I can achieve a fretless tone on a fretted bass too. 😉
  7. There's a very nice Lady Godiva...
  8. I Believe In A Thing Called Love - The Darkness
  9. Being on the Oi circuit we have to research gigs we’re offered to make sure no far right or far left bands on the bill, once you’ve played with them - even if unknowingly - you’re forever tarnished with the same brush so to speak.
  10. I can't be around people with views that are hurtful or marginalise others. Happy to have differences and others present their opinion in an informed way. If you're uninformed and following the herd, I'm not interested. I also can't work with people who are so angry and bitter that their view of 'others' can't be shifted.
  11. Your mate is James Oliver and I claim my £5….
  12. I think people should be free to hold whatever opinions they want. But I won’t work in a band with someone who I find to be an objectionable d..khead, for whatever reason that may be.
  13. I played this bass the day Paddy picked it up as he did a round trip to drop a bass off with me straight after getting the OW. I was super impressed with it, it's a quality bit of kit. Deal in confidence with Paddy as well, he's a top chap and seller!
  14. Yo! Warhead mit Purzelbaum i'd love to hear the unplugged version
  15. Basschat first got interested in these over 10 years ago - I blame @Clarky It was that thread that led to me ordering a matching Crazy 88 from Guy Trigg (who seems to be no longer a Member here): https://www.facebook.com/trickyaudio/?locale=en_GB He was/is building them under licence from Greenboy in the USA: https://www.greenboy.us/ https://www.greenboy.us/cabs/view.php?model=Crazy88 Just to confirm those dimensions in metric: H 57cm x W 27cm x D 35cm, Weight 12.5Kg The cab is 4 Ohms.
  16. This cab isn't just for DB but it's enough of a boutique DB item that it's worth posting the link to the sale thread here too.
  17. Trying to wean myself off preamps for use at doubling gigs, so I'm listing a couple today. First up is this one: https://www.bassgearmag.com/radial-tonebone-bassbone-v2-pedal/ Famously built like a tank, it's a classic Swiss Army Knife of a pedal which does pretty much everything you're likely to need at a gig. The tone-sculpting allows either seamless switching between DB and electric or two different tones from a single bass, it has no problems handling piezo pickups, it's a great DI box, etc. etc. etc. Original power supply but - to my annoyance - I can't find the original packaging, even though I'm sure that I have it somewhere. 🙁 Condition is flawless & functional, very nearly pristine. That's why it's "very nearly" pristine ... four little patches of removable velcro on the bottom. Apart from that velcro, it's perfect. Everything works exactly as it should.
  18. Gregor form BassTheWorld is a big fan!
  19. Happy Jack's Great Exotic Sale continues with this quite remarkable pedal. How to describe what it does? Best read this: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/audio-sprockets-tonedexter That review is for the original ToneDexter which is what I am selling. Original packaging, power supply & manual, as you can see. By its very nature, this isn't a pedal that gets chucked into gig bags and knocked about at gigs, so this is in pristine condition. If there's a mark on it, then I can't find it. Smaller than you'd think, too. You can't buy these new any more, but the V2 replacement is this one: https://www.andertons.co.uk/audio-sprockets-tonedexter-2-acoustic-guitar-preamp/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20736322037&gbraid=0AAAAADujoUrZPlhasp7Z7MDPcIjO7Cnyt&gclid=Cj0KCQjwh5vFBhCyARIsAHBx2wzoSIwW07QUzI0kxlO4PRfLLAuySRBXjVY8ZKQoc6XWvrMM3LVfcRcaArDKEALw_wcB I used this a lot when I was gigging a Zeller ply bass and a Kolstein Busetto, both of those with utterly gorgeous tone, alongside my custom-built Ali-Kat aluminium bass ... which looks astonishing but can't even begin to compete on tone. These days, I no longer actually own a traditional DB of any sort () so the ToneDexter is getting very little use.
  20. Oscar Schmidt by Washburn Guitars. https://www.oscarschmidt.com/instrument-type/autoharps/ 😎
  21. I should probably have mentioned that it comes with the original Owner's Manual.
  22. That's a great sound!
  23. I don’t know about you, but I’m enjoying the descriptions as much as the fascinating collection…
  24. I should probably have mentioned that it comes with the original Owner's Manual.
  25. Very little used since Covid, time to move it on. Comes with all the little bits of cabling etc. Condition is as near pristine as you're likely to find. Full specs are here: https://philjonesbass.net/cms/product-ha-1/
