  1. Past hour
  2. That's the place I bought the 1965 P I had for a while from. Good experience, good people to deal with.
  3. Sometimes it's just easier to go with the flow. I've definitely plugged a 1/4" patch cable between my Sansamp and a Behringer DI box before. Leaving a perfectly good (probably better) xlr on the Sansamp unused. I'll pick my battles.
  4. Have you tried booking under the guise of a pothead that wants to have a mini rave and damage all the equipment? I believe they are welcomed
  5. That's what the security guard said when I tried to leave Tesco without paying. He was wrong.
  6. Are you telling us to like it or asking us if we like it?
  7. 4 decades of life = a cover for 4 basses!
  8. Lol....ya just can't help yourselves..
  9. I went back to check my invoice Rob and I should apologise to Evri as it was Parcelforce 48 that I booked and the dimensions were 110 x 48 x 13
  10. Headless Bass String adapter to convert from double ball to standard string fitting i have two of these both brand new and never used. one is in a chrome finish and the other is a gloss black finish both come with fitting screws and allen keys. £9 each price includes uk mainland postage.
  11. Blimey chaps. I can’t imagine the difficulties you have faced but this really illustrates the importance of our hobby and the pleasure it can bring. For me, playing, talking about gear and buying stuff has always been an escape from far less pressing concerns. All the best to you both. I love that amp, beautiful looking thing. Enjoy
  12. I input the dimensions of the outer packaging (short scale bass) and Interparcel gave me the option of Evri. If they have mis sold me their service it'll be interesting to see where they go with this one. We'll see what they say.
  13. From one Sean to another, thanks for a fantastic Basschat deal. Great comms, rapid responses. Enjoy the bass, I'm glad she's with someone who appreciates her for what she is.
  14. Good call on the lighting stand. I've got some painting to do soon and it's given me an idea. I don't have a lighting stand but I do have a similarly sturdy and be-tripodded bike maintenance stand. I've always used the W S Jenkins grain filler that Tonetech sell. Not sure if it's good or not really as I don't have much to compare it to, but it's another option if you need one.
  15. I can lend you a butter knife and you could go at it like Jaco, if you like.
  16. Please don’t make me go to the Bay 😉
  17. Hey Pete, I have some inkling of what you are going through and I wish You all the strength you'll need to get through it. In 1988 when he was sixteen my younger son was involved in a car acccident that left him with a broken neck a paralised from the shoulders down. Our lives changed drastically. We had to find a new house that could be renovated to suit his needs. After a search involving 75 houses we found this one. The changes, like adding an elevator, cost $187K which we had to find! Cut to present day and he bought himself a Condo and went out with his attendant one day and never came back! But that's enough of my story. I no longer play out and haven't picked up a bass since the time of Covid. That said I do have a lot of knowledge and try to pass it on to help my fellows.
  18. Today
  19. My Aria Pro II CSB-300 Cardinal Series, made on the legendary Matsumoku factory in Japan, sometime in the early 80's, that I bought recently: 32" scale length, Ash body, 3 piece Maple neck, with a Rosewood fretboard. After a thorough setup it plays non less than amazing, and sounds great! Definitely pleased with this buy! I did have to lower the bridge saddles as low as they go to get them to my preferred just about 2mm string action low E string 12th fret, but it is perfect as is now, so not really an issue. The pickup is a bit noisy when not touching any metal parts, so might need to shield it properly at some point, but as said, it does sound great, and is quiet, as long as touching metal parts or strings. Being used to playing 28.6" scale basses for the last past 10 years or so I am surprised how effortlessly this bass is to play. It does have a pretty chunky neck, but it is pretty narrow, with a string spacing of just 16.5mm, like my main 5 string Ibanez GSRM25 Mikro Bass. Nice to finally have a bass again that can be tuned in regular E standard tuning, without compromising the tone. I am also positively surprised with how little fret wear it got, practically non. I have given it the name "Dud Bottomfeeder Sr.", after my 4 string Mikro, which is named "Dud Bottomfeeder II".
  20. So can someone else from your group book it? Its not like they are checking
  21. I thought basses in boxes were too big for EVRI? It's one of the reasons I don't use them, but not the main reason. "Evri (formerly Hermes) has a maximum parcel length of 120cm for most services. Additionally, the combined length and girth (circumference) of a parcel cannot exceed 245cm." I suspect Interparcel disregarded EVRI's rules and mis-sold you the service. Parcelforce 24 has been good for me for a while now, I say that, because at some point, they are bound to f**k up too. Rob
  22. If I were still playing live, I'd have bought this in a heartbeat. Best of luck with the sale. Ill be very jealous of the lucky person who buys this! Have a free bump on me sir.
  23. When my charred corpse is identified using dental records?
