  1. Past hour
  2. I wanted to hear the sound of the 5 strings, but they are all 6 strings
  3. I've shown this before. That's more the price, I reckon.
  4. A matching pair of grey bobbin 1978 fender Jazz bass pickups with grounding plates. Originally bought for a project that never got fully finished. The output values are shown in the pictures, any questions please drop me a dm.
  5. Shocking colour.
  6. Ah .. a sight for sore eyes 😜
  7. I have exactly the same, for the same reason, but using little black dots of the sort usually used to cover cameras on laptops. These can only be seen close up.
  8. In general I am not a fan of passive tone stacks, much prefering active EQ sections. However, much like the AD200, the TB sounds so good at close to flat settings, the EQ can stay where it is almost all the time.
  9. Yes I think I read it’s closer to 625W approx under test.
  10. I'm eating my previous words as the SP 404 MK2 is currently on its way back to Amazon for a refund. It's not that it's a bad bit of kit, just that at £420 it is hard to justify when things like an iPad (or even a phone) are so good for a lot of this stuff nowadays. The 404 feels a bit like a throwback to hardware from 30 years ago. My iPad with Gagageband (free), Patterns 3 drum machine (£20), Koala sampler (£5), Synth One J6 (free), together have so many more features even just for sampling - like stems separation and ease of visualising and cropping samples, and is so much better for stuff like visualising and moving about drum patterns or full song structures or adding well featured synths etc. and is more portable. It's quite telling that a £5 app like Koala is includeded as a sort of partner product with the 404 as it basically mirrors almost all of the features via an app but then has additional things like stems separation and instant access to however big your phone/iPad storage of samples is (instead of the 16GB workably accessible on the 404 which you end up moving from your iPad or Laptop anyway if you want to do stuff like stems separation and file management). The obvious caveats are if you need to buy a Laptop or iPad and audio interface specifically for this then that is at least the same cost as a 404 (and some say if you are using these things for live music then you should exclusively use them for music for reliability etc. so that then is quite a cost if you are considering >£1.5k macbook pro sort of stuff...can get a lot of music hardware for that) . And there are limitations to iPad/Laptop/Phone like not being able to finger-drum velocity sensitive pads or twiddle knobs - at a minimum something like a small Akai midi interface can do that for another £100....so the costs can potentially add up to a lot more than just a few apps. As far as using stuff like the 404 as a multi-fx though, I think I need to conclude that the best tool for Bass multi-fx are Bass multi-fx pedals! Even something as cheap as a Zoom B1-4 is much better suited to the job than things like a MPC or 404. ........Although saying that, I am now a bit 'iPad curious' as a live effects unit, I have it set up with my usb audio interface at home and am hearing no noticable latency playing Bass Guitar > Interface > iPad > Garageband set to monitoring (with effects) > interface > mixer (and it works well as synth controlled by my keyboard). Is this perhaps a new rabbit hole of trying to use this iPad setup as my Bass multi-fx?!? I think it could work well for 'always on' type effects with it sat on my amp at rehearsals but the faff and cost of making it 'gig proof' and adding midi footswitches for live use probably makes it a no-go.
  11. I also wonder if the Orange 500 watt class D is perhaps under specified and delivers more than some other amps advertised as 500 watts? It wouldn't surprise me as Orange designed this unit specifically for bass amps.
  12. Absolutely fantastic amps. Wanted one for years after playing through one at a multi band line up gig years ago, but they always came up at the wrong time. When I did finally get my hands on one, it was even better than I remembered. Glwts
  13. Both are great amps in their own right and sound similar although the TB goes one step further in the drive sound. LBT has active EQ with parametric mids and the optical compressor which drives the amp harder too. TB EQ control catches many out as 12 o clock isn’t flat, far from it
  14. I think the Terror bass case has a lot of free space under the hood and has two tubes part of the pre amp and fx loop circuits.
  15. I was unsure because the LBT looks much smaller in photos.
  16. Just been confirmed that the LBT and the Terror v2 share the same output stage. Both equally loud amps for 500w heads
  17. I wonder if the 500 watt class D power amps are the same in these two heads? The Terror Bass v2 is Orange proprietary design using through hole ( i.e., no SMT) technology. I was surprised to see that when I opened mine (top photo), but it may make repairs slightly easier for techs without SMT capabilities.
  18. Was an interesting one that. It was sold in the previous auction and then relisted 3 months later. Wouldn’t buy it either!
  19. I saw this on Instagram and gave it a rating of "quite nice" Very 80s Ibanez Musician if you get my drift.
  20. Where in Durham are you? I’ll have this - I’m in Chester le St
  21. Must be wrong time of year.
  22. Today
  23. My Monaco was awesome and if I had £895 I would invest in one I think the OBC112 probably aren’t for me as I still think they suffer from vibration. My MarkBass MB58R 122 Pure cab is a nice cab and weighs 17kg and is rated 800w. I get nice sounds out of it and it’s loud enough for a single use cab too
  24. Nice! I love my regular sized one.
  25. Email this morning (he’s been on hols) my cab should be ready to collect in the next week - so when I’m back from my hols 😁
  26. Can't get enough of that band. I always say they are the one band I would play in a tribute band for 😆
  27. And English isn't even Nicco's first language. We should all read and learn.
