Cool little phaser pedal from the JHS budget line, was on my board for the last 8 months or so but I just prefer the more simple Phase 90 for my use, the less knobs the less chance of me fiddling during gigs! It can pull off the Phase 90 vibe and also do much more extreme sounds with the feedback knob switched on. Pretty much as new except having Velcro on the bottom, with the original box and bits and pieces. Price includes UK postage, will knock £5 off for local collection

Stub Mandrel started following Do we think about Rhythm enough?
-
In the past I've found it useful to play along to drum rudiments. I also trg to vary my rhythm when playing certain songs. Perhaps most of us don't think about naming rhythms or consciously learning them, perhaps shuffles and bo diddley... or just play along to different drum machine rhythms without actually breakingthem down. I was listening to 'Add to Playlist' earlier and they mentioned Samba rhythm. It made me think 'how is a samba constructed?' I found this short video interesting: Spoiler: it does not mention samba...

I'm kinda with you. I never really saw the point of it and usually just ignored it hoping it would go away but thought i should ask the question just in case i need it. 😂 Dave

I watched the Nathan East interview earlier this week, along with the Freddie Washington video, and both very enjoyable. Scott Devine did a good job with both. Personally, I found them far more interesting than the three part series on Sky Arts in the other thread. I think I will give the Flea interview a watch as well. Thanks for the upload...👍

LFSys and Barefaced Questions - Super Compact, Monaco and Monza?
Sean replied to Linus27's topic in Amps and Cabs
I can't ever see me having anything to replace the Monacos. They are one of the best products (of any kind) I've ever used. It exceeds my expectations and most importantly of all, it can be heard all the time from wherever I am, or wherever the drummer is in relation to it. That is what made me an evangelist for LFSys. I'm very interested in the baby 8" LFSys cabs of the future for home use and rehearsals. I think these will be something that I'll use in parallel. -
I must admit, setting up the chocolate plus with the Valeton was an absolute doddle!!

I dont see the point of the whole Status malarky. A waste of real estate IMO Want to message someone - we have a messaging system. Want it to be read by other members - we have off topic

That's why you are a BC legend. 😂 Dave

Virtually new Fender Bassman 100 cover from Roqsolid, i got it to use while my flightcase was being manufactured so was only used briefly. Its a little dusty but will wipe. They're about £65 new + shipping Cover is in Hope Valley, happy to post within UK, probably gonna cost a tenner just for how small it doesn't fold up.

Today, I went to each of those three shops. I took with me my AKG headphones, and some sheet music Rose Morris had the Kawai ES60, and the Kawai ES120. I preferred the ES60 - great feel, strong and boldly realistic sounds. There was an immediate and lively response to my playing. The keyboard felt a little tiring on my fingers, but I put that down to fact that I rarely play a proper weighted piano, and because the device was mounted quite high up. Slim form, good speakers, entry-level pricing: if that was the only option available to me, I would be entirely satisfied. The ES120? On paper, the specifications were better. But under my fingers, it didn't work as well, for me. It was somehow more polite, more sophisticated, and it lost the energy of the ES-60. The sales guy explained that the ES-60 had a shorter travel on the keys than the ES120. So, shorter travel means that there is less delay - and more immediacy. On to the Kawai ES920, just to see what a blank cheque would get me. Incredible feel and sound, and clearly a stage piano. However, the sound of the keys was the noisiest of the bunch. Not a problem for the stage, but potentially annoying when someone else is listening to the noise of the keyboard, without music. The quietest keyboard? The ES-60. Next door but one, and into the corporate world of Roland. No entry level Roland FP10 Digital Piano on display, but the Roland FP-30X Digital Piano had the same piano action. An incredible instrument! Lively and responsive, allowing for lots of expression and emotion when I played. And that model (unlike the FP10) allowed for three expression pedals, which is essential for Grade 4, I am told. The grand piano sounded huge, the string sound lush and expressive. For me, the Roland was the instrument that I wanted to play at home. The Yamahas? I tried a P145. It was....okay. Again, I would be perfectly grateful for it. However, it didn't excite me. So, in conclusion, it was important for me to have tried the keyboards, before I invest in one.
