  1. Past hour
  2. Hello from near Sneckyville
  3. It seems a bit silly. Surely, if you buy it and return it, then it becomes b-stock? You would probably also have to pay for the return shipping.
  4. Just spoken to my diary secretary/CEO/partner in crime and she's OK with me going AWOL for the weekend. So am planning to come down now. The only hassle is coming back as I probably have to go to work on Monday. @neepheid we probably need to discuss how to break the space-time continuum and work how to get everything into your car or we simply take my larger estate 😊 I'll probably bring 3d printed headless bass 3d printed six string Westone Thunder Bass and matching Westone Thunder six string Probably one or two others. I'll bring a couple of pedalboards as well. If people are interested in a custom made pedal board, absolutely made to measure for sensible donations to charity, let me know. Also if we are looking to do 'work' I'm happy to run a software and hardware IT clinic. If people have issues let me know in advance so I can see if I can help. Rob
  5. I normally replace with a Graphtech Tuzq nut.
  6. Who decides what constitutes "high risk"? To me, Coldplay are a high risk band. There's a high risk they will bore me to death.
  7. Unlike other people they ripped off were influenced by, Glitter was given a writing credit. But he transferred outright ownership of his music when he sold the rights in 1997.
  8. Might as well give the broadcast rights to GB News. We could have three full days of self-righteous indignation and moral outrage. Jeremy Kyle could go round telling festival goers to get a job and sort their life out, stop spending money on drugs, tattoos, smashed avocados and Palestinian flags and pay proper child support ect.
  9. Absolute Beginners - DB
  10. That's works with me, I'll send you a PM with the details.
  11. I have one of these pedals built by @BabyBlueSound and it's absolutely brilliant. Biggest bargain on Basschat .
  12. It's actually got one 😁 it used to be higher. I will edit this into the description, good point.
  13. Well I think it’s fair to say the doubters were wrong and that that audience absolutely loved it. Just my humble opinion but in the mid nineties they made playing guitars cool again and I’m grateful for that as I bought their first two albums, bought a nice fender strat with a work bonus and started playing again which led me to taking up bass again and playing live in several bands which had always been an ambition. They are making a lot of people happy at this moment when the rest of the world is a bit of a sh*t show PS My 23 year old daughter and boyfriend have tickets for London. She wasn’t even born during their heyday.
  14. Maybe it's time for Channel 4 to take it on again. I think there's too much political influence in the BBC for it to work with them.
  15. Charlie Escher's (@passinwind) design is a good place to start with that. https://github.com/Passinwind/PW3B-LPF/blob/main/V4 Schematics and BOMs.md
  16. Right Back Where We Started From - Maxine Nightingale
  17. I see there's a predictable storm about Gary Glitter getting a royalty payment for Hello, but it does seem the obvious song to start with, but as Glitter is bankrupt maybe his victims (creditors) will get it? edit, anyway he's still in jail so won't do him much good, Mike Leander will be pleased though
  18. Thanks , I will try that ! Pete
  19. Nice plans! I have some of my own as well 😁 My prunes and custard clone, the Plüm will go through some changes. I want to build my own version, slightly changing some stuff, e.g. trying out some LEDs instead of the diodes, etc. I think it could do with softer clipping, and I am a sucker for the sound of LEDs. Not that satisfied with the OD part of the original, and the drive pot's usable range is also quite small in my opinion. I found anything apart from between 2pm-4pm positions basically useless. That's going to the breadboard soon. I also need to test if a P&C can benefit from a BLEND, or if it's useless in that context. What can I say, I am a big BLEND fan, I think almost every pedal should have it 😁 If I get the Fázz working, I am also looking to change some pots and R and C values in there to fine-tune it a bit to what I think it should sound like E.g. the original Mastotron has a switch to cut off the whole bass or some of it - NOT IN MY HOUSE! Already removed that switch. Once that's done, I want to create an SMT version of it and slowly transition away from through-holes. Speaking of SMTs, how do you do yours? Your Aotearoa looks so nice. Do you use a hot plate / hot air gun, or are you a solder iron wizard? I got a hot plate, but haven't got the chance to use it yet.
  20. Ahh, mine's 2015 (if it wasn't obvious from the serial number). So, they mess with the programme whenever they feel like it, I guess - including changing which tuners they use.
  21. Nothing particular to advise. The above recommendations are on the money. I use glue very sparingly, in a single spot, on the base of the nut. This should avoid a repeat of the present cause but also allow removal of the nut as necessary at another time. I have had to deal with removing a nut that was glued in with so much glue it was a real pain to remove……..and, it was a bound neck. Nasty.
  22. There's some great software available for these units also for example https://www.singularsound.com/products/groove-monkee
  23. Channel 4 were the first terrestrial channel to cover Glasto. They did the 1994 and 1995 festivals. They did it much better too.
  24. Well spotted. I basically placed that early into the process, and as this was my first PCB design ever, I struggled with changing part footprints, etc. But it is an internal trim indeed, part of the BLEND circuit. Ultimately I just measured if I can bend my existing trims' legs in a way that it fits this pot-like space - and I think it will be able to do that But that's certainly a future enhancement once I made sure the prototypes actually work, I want to use one of those 5-pole universal trim sockets.
