Let us know your thoughts. I really like the aesthetic of these - has that old school vibe nailed.

I've always fancied using either 'Star Anise' or 'Curly Kale' as stage names.....

Keep it as is, with apologies to @agedhorse, they don't make 'em like that any more I used the two cab solution as my main (only) gigging rig, there is nothing I'd change -

I had one for a brief period. It appeared at a price I could not resist. I paired it up with a 6x10". It was like being carried on a wave of LF power. I shall never plug into it's like again. I sold it to someone who could actually move it. -

Are bank transfers safe to buy goods from here?
HeadlessBassist replied to lushuk's topic in General Discussion
I regularly use bank transfers on here, but I often travel the country and deliver basses, or at least meet half way. I only accept payment when the purchaser is happy with the goods. I never post instruments, because that's where I've been bitten in the past, where one instrument was damaged beyond repair by UPS. It's nice meeting new people and putting faces to names, too. -
I have swapped to a white scratchplate though.

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
kwmlondon replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
Met up yesterday in Pirate, Dalston, with one of my bands. Lovely guys and they're getting better! The drummer is definitely coming on leaps and bound. The songs we know are getting tighter and working better. We're gonna have one more rehearsal then do a band open mic in November, maybe do a split bill with the guitarist's other band (he's retired so he can dedicate his time to music). But... the big eye-brow raiser was my sound yesterday. I had a Blackstar 250w 15" combo and blow me if it wasn't one of the best sounding rigs I've had in a practise. So punchy, deep and clear. I was running my Dingwall ABZ into it through a Sansamp VT-21 and the dirty sound was sublime. The Neve preamp on the Dingle is the best active circuitry I've ever used, seriously. I don't often use the bridge pickup on a bass because it lacks low-end but taking the bass up a few notches to balance it and tame the low end gave me an incredible rich, burpy sound with oodles of attack. I even whacked the treble up for one tune with distortion to get a really nasty, clanky sound. Unbelieveable how versatile and useful it is. The Blackstar did make me wonder how many of the other bass amps I've used in rehearsal spaces have just been buggered though! Maybe this one was new... -
That Cort hasn't released a lefty version yet Would love one, they look great and if they're anywhere near the quality of the Corts I've owned (older Korean ones, admittedly) I'm pretty sure I'd love it.

I have one of the limited edition JT4 basses and also a JT5 which I added the six way rotary to. It’s made a fantastic sounding bass even better. I actually run my basses passive a lot of the time, but the Neve preamp really is very good when you kick it in. My 5 is pretty light, balances very well and sustains for days too. It’s become my main bass for gigging. My JT5 My JT4 (18 of only 82 worldwide) Pickup settings for the six way. It really expands the range of sounds. Last Friday’s setup with my beloved Franz bass and the quite incredible GR Bass rig.

Are bank transfers safe to buy goods from here?

It's a no from me. -
A Kazumi Watanabe Bebop head with Janek Gwizdala doubling the tune. Just bit of BeBop to find your way around. The tune is called 'Algorithm' from the 2011 Watanabe album, 'Tricoroll'. Not impossible but there is a one bar string of triplets that needs thinking about, especially if you are on a four string. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/algorithm-kazumi-watanabe/

All I'm going to add, is that I need therapy. 'Nuff said.

That’s a really thoughtful approach -
It's funny cos Beeston is quite close to Nantwich! I used to cycle to Beeston Castle - we'd jump over the wall and attempt to find the fabled (and no doubt non-existent) secret passage to Peckforton Castle...

After many years of tube rolling in high end hifi amps and bass amps I believe valves do not have a given sound. It all comes down to the circuit that the valves go into. For example yesterday I was playing around with valves in my ABM head. A JJ and EH 12ax7 buzzed and hummed like crazy but in a hifi amp they were silent. The JJ was very bright and the EH warm. Next went in a vintage 1980s Marshall that was silent but sounded very thin and bright. I settled on a 1990s smooth silver plate Sovtek 7025 that sounded perfect to my ears. All of the above valves sound very different in my other amps. I firmly believe that it all is down to the circuit that the amp uses.

Having been a user of the Cali76 compact bass pedal i always fancied a try of the bigger TX version but prices are astronomical! This popped up on Richtones secondhand section the other day and a bit of research suggests it may be in the same ballpark. Look forward to giving it a blast, particularly with the Drive setting!
