  2. Ivor Mairants has never been a bass focused shop but is one of the old grandees of the Soho music shop scene. Just had an email from their mailing list saying that they are closing down after trading for over 60 years. Not part of Denmark Street but tucked up a side street off Oxford Street nearby, it was one I always popped into for a look any time I was in the area and having an idle browse. Retail is a tough old biz these days and so I’m not surprised that a small, independent shop like that can’t keep going. That’s 21st C commerce. Still a shame when I look back at what the area was like back in the 80s when I first started visiting.
  3. Fantastic strait forward transaction with Stu. Great communication fast payment an absolute pleasure to deal with.
  4. Tomorrow night, Nine Lives at the Balaclava in Fraserburgh.
  5. Or use a resistor ladder and just one pin set to a2d mode.
  6. Double booked for tomorrow... asked to play at 7 instead, but other band has pulled out. It's an hour away and my mate has been learning the songs to dep guitar so glad it will be straightforward.

I bought an MXR blacked out envelope filter from Mick - quick comms, pedal exactly as described, well packaged and next day delivery. Trade with confidence. Many thanks 👍
  8. I had no idea Bunde (can't do umlauts on this keyboard, unfortunately) was German for fret. I used to live near the town called Bunde in the eastern region of NRW, back in the day. Anyway, bass looks great, good luck with the sale!
  9. Well that’s a pretty thing! P pickup and piezo bridge. A rare one, I think… good luck with the sale!
  10. Fender Precision Bass Japan model TNB 110 SPL Rare Japan only Fender Precision, Thinline Telebass, semi acoustic. 11. Best of CD collections from Dickey Betts and Great Southern and the Outlaws. Both in new condition. £12 for the pair, posted UK.
  12. As seen on the London stage with Clapton! Deluxe edition - Played once, as new. Do You Get The Blues dates from 2001 - this is its anniversary reissue on CD with sleeve notes from the bluesmeister himself. Cameos by Lou Ann Barton and Double Trouble. Now £8 posted UK Now £7
  13. All great CDs btw. I'd grab the lot, except I already have them.
  14. That Elm body would be inzane as a one piece body, (crazy grain)what was there a reason for topping it ?
  15. Fender Bassman Delay, about £100... Better than anything else I've tried on bass.
  16. Gorgeous looking bass. Well done @therasonic450 Dave
  17. Sometimes, it works out well for the viewers. "We are at the Iranian embassy..." But generally, I agree that it is pointless to film cars skidding on a snowy road, or watch ministers entering 10 Downing Street.
  18. I was fortunate to play plenty of these back in the day as Barrett's in Manchester had the distribution deal (I think). The shop was full of Wals. They had so many that one weekend, they were offering a Sunn bass amp with every Wal. I was penniless. The re-furb looks stunning - what a fabulous instrument. I genuinely prefer these to the customs (I've owned of few) in pretty much every way. Brilliant job and brilliant that Paul was able to undertake the work - and so quickly
  19. Jam Rattler and DOD FX 91 Bass OD for sale Rattler is a great RAT clone for Bass with a really useful blend dial to keep the bottom end in. Load of online demos on YouTube. I've got the original box and packaging with this one. There's not a scratch on it. FX 91 is the first Bass fx I ever bought from good old AI music in Manchester on Oxford Road. Rattler is £145 posted royal mail (recorded). DOD FX 91 is 55 posted (recorded) Both have large velcro strip on the back but easily removed. No trades thanks. For collection in south Manchester knock a fiver off each price.

  21. ETS Tuning Fork Bass 5 Big (brass material) Rounded chrome, 18 mm strings spacing. Beware that the saddles were modified by a previous owner to go lower (but are working perfectly as is for standard B to G tuning, or you can interchange them to go lower on the treble side, or turn them upside down to start from fresh). The shining chrome bridge plate is new and has never been fitted, only the satin chrome saddles were modified. It can be used for stringing through the body. Check my ads. NO TRADES! 22. I have a pair of these... for me they are absolutely the best within their price bracket though I understand headphone choice is quite a subjective matter! I suppose @Hellzero is OK to deal with too... 😜
