Misowaki started following Mustang Bass - MIJ Vs. JMJ - Do they sound different? and MIJ v JMJ

I've commented this exact same thing on an older thread but thought I'd copy it in here as it's newer. Zombie thread! I love my MIJ Mustang. If I had to be picky, the tuners are a bit clunky. That's it. I want to get another for one with flats, one with rounds. Looking at the USA with the J pup for rounds, flats on the MIJ. I've played the USA, it plays just fine and feels similar enough to the MIJ. EVERYBODY goes on about the JMJ, though. He is one of my favourite players, too, but I don't want the relic job, but! The sound of the chunkier neck is appealing. I usually play a P but am transitioning to shortys for those festivals and the like where there is no time to warm up. Also, because it makes me look less small onstage 😅 Any objective opinions on this? My MIJ sounds great with flats and rounds. Feels great, plays great. Am I really going to have a life changing experience with the JMJ or will I be fine, just fine, with the USA alongside the MIJ? Thanks!

I stacked x2 markbass traveller 210s. Phenomenal sound. More than you'll ever need. Way better than a standard 4x10 shape. And easier to carry and transport. Recommended.

Graham A started following Bergantino Super Pre
-
Bergantino Super Pre up for sale, boxed with instructions and power supply. I have used the pre In my band going in ears by placing it on a small table, rather than placing it on the floor. It therefore doesn't have any velcro attachments & is In an excellent condition. The only thing I had to do when I purchased it was update the firmware, there are also a few speaker profiles uploaded as well. The sound quality and build is excellent, just what you would expect from Jim Bergantino. Collection from Teesside is preferred, although I'm happy to courier at buyers expense / risk.

Oomo started following Broughton Audio Subsonic - £165

Broughton Audio's recreation of the OC2 octaver: https://www.broughtonaudio.com/product-page/subsonic Hard to get in the UK (or outside it!), but I'm not using it at the moment, so seems like a waste for me to keep it. It's in almost brand new condition, I bought to replace my OC-2, but then ended up not needing an octaver, so it's mostly been sat in a box. PayPal, bank transfer (preferred), or cash on pickup (I'll knock £10 off for collection too).

Hi Lefty, I did look at the Rodes but dropped them to 4th place behind the SEs, MXLs and Tbones based solely on reading the specs which didn’t seem quite as good for the M5s. Problem is, of course, that specs on paper don’t really tell you what your ears are going to experience which is why I’d like folks’ hands-on opinions. From the sound of things, the M5s might be worth another look - they’re certainly in the right price range. Off down the YT rabbit hole I go then 😁 Thanks!

***PRICE DROP NOW £1300*** 2010 US Stingray, 2EQ, CAR with rosewood board. One of the limited edition 133 basses, full fat ‘ray but with a soft gig bag case instead of a hard shell job. This is in excellent condition with one very minor ding on the top edge, and the pickguard is quite marked but obviously easily replaceable. Comes with a Hipshot D-tuner (long key though instead of short… doh), if you want the original tuner key I’ll chuck it in. I’ve also replaced the pickup with a Nordstrand MM4.2, which sounds flippin’ great. She’s quite heavy (10lb) but with a decent wide strap it feels ok. ***EDIT*** now comes with the option of a Warwick Rockbass semi-rigid case - photos added. Loathe to post this but can at buyer’s (insured) expense, or can meet in person at either Portsmouth, Southsea, Southampton or Lymington (I’m on the I.O.W.)

Oh, and Long Train Running as well I've just noticed. Lucky me 😎

I've just been sent the set list for a gig on 27/9 for a band I dep for. Three songs in there I've never played before and they don't rehearse. I wasn't informed of this when I said yes, but the singer is also a dep and everything will be tuned down half a step for him. There's a song in there that should be played on a 5. That's not going to happen if everything is being tuned down. They can put up with me playing the low stuff higher on that one. Plus....I've also got the full house in cover band bingo....Play That Funky Music, Summer of '69, Sex on Fire, Chelsea Dagger AND Mr.Brightside!

A tell for the Shaftys (and other Chushin Gakki ones, I think) is the slightly translucent pickguards.
-
I've only seen neck-thru Shaftys. Yep - the bolt-on Japanese ones didn't have the skunk stripe through the body. I don't think Eko (Italy) did 4001 copies?

RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to uk_lefty's topic in Effects For Sale
Thanks for getting back to me . I was in 2 minds whether I need this or not . I have ltd space . I also have various effects ( single , and zoom b3/ old boss me8b etc) I have a Roland sampler ( which really need to get my head around) , which although it takes batteries and mains, does plug directly into my Mac.. The idea I had was to say goodbye to the me8-b and use this as the modern replacement. Apologies for the long winded response, but GLWTS !
