  2. I’m looking to move to German grip and am selling this lovely French grip bow. I bought it on musical chairs for £400 in 2024. Details from the original ad below. Lovely D.Muniz bass bow from Brazil. Pernambuco stick, recently rehaired at Guivers. I purchased this from Malcolm Healy in 2005 and was my bow I used for all music college auditions, final recital and professional jobs. Weight is 12.8g and the length is 71.5 cm. Rather battered hard case that does the job. Alternatively if someone has a German grip bow of similar value (or want to do a swap plus cash) please get in touch. Bow is in Somerset, but I’m happy to bring it to London (EC2) if you’d like to try it.
  3. Knew I had this somewhere. Hope the link to the video of Michael Gillett still works. Bass Gear 2019 Summer NAMM Awards.docx
  4. 5 week gap for us at moment. Singer is off on hols for 3 weeks renewing his vows. We gig the day after he returns so that'll be a fun night. Still it lets me enjoy all your gig reports at an nice easy pace. 😂 Dave
  5. Waiting for The Worm to Turn - Bourgeois Tagg
  6. The obvious explanation is that the tall guy is accidentally wearing his partner's trousers.
  7. Got to love your confidence. 😂 Hopefully it went well. Dave
  8. Had the lurgy few weeks back and it left me with a bit of a cough that is slowly going away but a bad cold does that to me these days. If i hadn't tested for it i would have sworn it was covid. Rest of the band caught it 2 weeks later with no contact from me in those 2 weeks. Seems to be doing the rounds again. Dave
  9. Bridge fitted, still haven't found an emg for the right price
  10. Give it a try, buy one separate, then you can go std if you don't like it... Earnie Ball do a wound 0.16 / 0.18 if ya use super/reg slinkies, to match...
  11. No, should I? Are there any manufacturers who offer a set of 9s with a wound third?
  12. Counterpoint: Tort is a lovely way of visually rooting a rosewood board in a black body - otherwise, the reddish browns of rosewood tend to clash with black finishes, imho. (And I‘m really not a big tort guy, I‘ve gone decades without it!) All that said, the gold really is on another level.
  13. It’s a custom FNA Jazzman - so a music man pickup by the bridge and a jazz pickup closer to the neck
  14. Nice. Have you tried a wound Third?.. Warmer tone for higher pitch. I always feel a 0.16 or 0.18 a bit thick for a plain. Wounds feel and 'work' so much better.
  15. Believe it, or not I used to plug a set of Beyer 100s directly into my 20th anniversary Stingray. Worked a treat for solo practice.
  16. 2pods

    Roland VB99

    I wish I hadn't sold mine, but progress y'know
  17. What model of Warwick do you own and does it have a preamp bypass option? I'm thinking you could try using it neck only and bypassing the preamp. That might get you close enough?
  18. Nissan Juke drivers. What's wrong with them? Why are they all such terrible drivers with no awareness of what's going on around them? If Im on my motorbike, I will always be extremely cautious around them and expect the worst of them.
  19. Today
  20. Cheers Shaggy, I think so too, the new bridge makes all the difference and the single truss rod with dual action once set it does not move incredible , so easy to set a Rick up now. this one plays like a dream with the flat profile neck so thin compared to any other Rick I have had over 40 of them, it is perfect has the growl, the feel, and looks not too shabby either, only selling due to ill health, will hate putting my Spector up.
  21. Just got this Nash PB52.......
  22. *PRICE INCLUDES UK POSTAGE * Wicked pedal! Tracks beautifully. Only selling as I’m now using multi-effect unit. In great condition (I may even have original box…can’t find at the moment m). Does an octave below and/or above. Also has an independent boost effect. Blurb here: Octavius tri-tone generator has 4 controls LO OCT, HIGH OCT, MASTER MIX and BOOST. LO OCT knob lets you set the volume of the lower octave signal produced by the pedal. HIGH OCT knob controls the volume of the higher octave signal produced by the pedal. The balance between the levels of these 2 knobs is what creates your particular octave-divided sound. Experiment with your mix, and you’ll be amazed at the variety of effects you’ll get. MASTER MIX knob lets you set the overall volume of your low and high octaves compared to your direct signal. Use the BOOST knob to control the output of your octave-divided sound. The boost function lets you dial in a solo level, whether the overdrive circuit is activated or not.
  23. Genuinely think this should be in a player’s tonal chain. Took out on a Jazz/Funk gig and it was smooth as butter!! Almost has me changing my mind…..just too much a luxury with the other stuff that I own and use!!
  24. I've seen a Helix require a few resets over a rehearsal more than once. Not at a gig so far.
