  2. i got zoom b3, want to "upgrade"... b2 fpur or b6...or? thx
  3. so I've now done a duo gig with the K10s in quite a big venue they were ok, but the K12s are better on their own. More bottom end they will be fine in smaller venues so I'll continue with them on some gigs but with the bass bins, always the 10s now. They fit in the car easier too
  4. Additional info: - I use a Y-splitter to power the Generator and a Noble DI. I've tried powering them separately and the buzz is still there - tried going straight from the switcher to the amp (i.e. cutting out the Noble). Buzz still there.
  5. https://dingwallguitars.com/bass/sp1/ Dingwall just updated their website and added the SP1 Gorgeous!
  6. Today's the day. It's gorgeous here in Clapham. Currently 9C expect high of 20C. Not a cloud in the sky. Finiahing my coffee and will open up the village hall.
  7. Necks Left to right that Chinese (I assume) maple FL (£50), Squier maple Classic Vibe 51' Precision (£100), Shuker maple fretless Precision (£300), Warmoth maple Precision £325), Northwest rosewood Precision (£100) I'll post pics of pickguards, tuners, pickups, bridges etc when I've dug them all out
  8. That looks lovely. Congratulations! The FSR Jazzes are usually very special. I've got a hand stained Ash 2012 FSR Jazz which is also definitely a keeper. They're often mistaken for Guitar Center specials etc, but there's always something about a good FSR instrument. Dark Night finish is my favourite on the American Professional II as well. Enjoy your new Bass
  9. Maybe get a looper pedal to have something to play off?
  10. Could arrange a mutually convenient motorway services deal.
  11. I've had a read around the internet and can't find this exact scenario, so putting it to you guys. I'm getting a bit of buzz when I from my setup, which is as follows: Bass (single coils) > pedalboard > amp. When I roll the volume down the buzz disappears, which implies it's something going on with the pickups/wiring. HOWEVER, when I plug straight into the amp... silence. So it's the pedalboard, right? Well, I have a GigRig power supply, so fully isolated, all pedals correctly powered and every pedal is in its own isolated loop using a GigRig QMX. I even have a noise filter (!) I currently don't have a buffer first thing as my Canvas Tuner is away getting repaired (fairly sure the buzz was there before). Hoping someone out there knows electronics better than the internet.
  12. I really like the finish! Glad you’ve found a keeper.
  13. I've had both Streamers and Thumbs, BO and NT. I do love their unique sound, but they are really heavy things (mine are all and have all been 6ers) and I find that after an hour my shoulder get very uncomfortable. The hang slightly more offset that most basses, so when playing stood up, the low end of the neck feels further away than say my EBMM Bongo. The tone is unique, and cuts like a knife - but they do have their challenges!

  15. Well I did it. After watching this one for over 2years online with the local agent, I pulled the trigger and bought myself the one bass I will never put down. I have promised both myself, my long-suffering better half and most of my mates that this is genuinely the last bass I ever buy. Feel free to screenshot this postand remind me if you see me lurking 🤣🤣🤣 But anyway, here she is: One N.O.S. 2021 Amerocan Pro 2 Jazz bass 75rh Anniversary FSR Dark Night woth Rosewood board. Genuinely cannot describe how beautiful this thing is, all around. It feels amazing in the hand, sounds exactly like a Jazz should and it has the most beautiful rosewood I have ever seen on any neck! This is a pretty good place to end my GAS Odyessy 😎
  16. Couple of PMs re what's sold and what's still available in this rather chaotic thread, so..... Bodies still available Left to right that'a 1970's Daion Precision, generic Precision (NON FENDER POCKET, CLOSE, BUT NOT QUITE), generic Jazz/SDs, generic P/J 80s DiMarzios
  17. I looked up suggestions on Google. Artificial Intelligence told me to use a heat gun, or a sander. I think that AI confused "double bass" with "floorboards ". Easily done. My money would be on talking to a violin maker, or a luthier, to ask how they would remove a finish.
  18. One and One is One - Medicine Head
  19. It's possible ... I may try some 99% acetone on an odd area to see if that gets it off.
