  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks for all the advice folks. Really appreciated. I’ll give @Happy Jack’s warm up routine a go next gig. In the meantime I am applying ice and hoping it improves before the gig. I’m used to having an aching left hand, left shoulder blade and back after a long gig but this was a new one on me. Things don’t get easier with age! 😏
  3. Mother fooger 🤣 ain’t iPhones great!
  4. I don't have the 18v I do have the 9v, the original came with an european plug from thomman, but I have other 9v adapters that I could package in
  5. I can’t sell the heavy one, it might be a beast but it’s been with me for ages i stripped it in lockdown and sprayed it sonic blue (nitro) it’s a 6’ bass! looks great at 6’ but any closer it’s shit, but plays so well
  6. It's a lovely pedal. I'll try to record some clips if you like. It's quite subtle but a very polished sound
  7. So you buy the lightest Sterling around (I'll photograph this on the scales) and you sell a heavier one... problem solved!
  8. It is a good size Daryl and must be able to hold 200-250 people i reckon. A decent small concert venue. I like playing it because we have plenty of stage space. Twice we've played it and the audience were great both times. Not sure i've ever played on a concrete stage. To be fair the bass cab was sitting directly on stage with no gramma pad this time and it wasn't boomy in any way at all. I know the drummer was using twin floor toms tuned low and maybe it was down to a lack of damping but not sure why it wasn't noticed at sound check. Dave
  9. Cheers for the input. Noob question but how do you find the visual loop indicator better compared paired to say the basic ditto?
  10. By God! That was a long time ago.
  11. Great to hear there's good news out there.
  12. Weren’t they doing the mother fooger envelope filter? That had been rumoured for a few years now
  13. The room looks big and it looks like you had a good size crowd. I get the hollow wooden stage issue. My issue has always been playing on concrete stages. Very cold and medicinal. Daryl
  14. Paul Powell is a great player, his Mr Exe album is well worth a listen
  15. Great news, and a great bass. You can change the thread title to *FOUND!* 😁
  16. According to my Vernier it's 44.4mm.
  17. I have a sterling, it plays amazing but it’s on the heavy side! A lighter sterling would be a nice addition!
  18. A little update to my board which is mostly for fretless. A new addition is the Fender Bassman Driver which just adds a bit of grit. It's an awesome pedal and is perfect to cut through at certain points. The pedalboard is tight for space and not sure what I'm going to do when I get my hands on a MXR Bass Synth pedal. From right to left. 1. TC Electronic Tuner 2. Boss OC5 Octave 3. Fender Bassman Driver 4. Harley Benton CH5 Chorus (Best chorus I've ever had) 5. Walrus Audio Slo Reverb 6. Mooer Ambience A7 Reverb 7. Ampeg Opto Compressor 8. Sansamp BDDI v2 Preamp
  19. But if there must be a PG, then I'd rather it was clear over a woodgrain.
  20. A bit of an unusual one! I bought this bass made from high quality parts from the Bass Gallery for just shy of £800 (in old money 😆) a few years ago. - Shuker Custom Neck - 33” scale, rock maple, satin finish (slightly worn), 2mm side dots, carbon fibre reinforcement, two way truss rod, spalt rosewood fingerboard, flat radius, slight asymmetric carve, medium, Stainless Steel Frets - 38.5mm Graphite Nut - Hipshot D-Tuner - worn Fender Jazz Body - 2 x Di Marzio DP 149 Ultra Jazz Pickups (hum-cancelling) - Pickups Mounted In Adjustable Rosewood Ramp (flat radius/profile to match the fingerboard) - Babicz FCH Bridge - Weight: I don't have a scale unfortunately. It feels like an average jazz, I'd say on the lighter side of average. Definitely not a heavy bass. - Overall condition: obviously relic'ed, but this is only cosmetic. No structural issues, everything is solid. Asking £700. Collection in Cambridge preferred. I'm also in North London fairly often. Shipping is possible but there is no case with this bass. No trades unfortunately. Thanks!
  21. You can usually treat bursitis with things like rest, ice packs and painkillers. But prevention being better than the cure, @Happy Jack has a video on here somewhere, showing how to warm up before playing, which will help prevent reoccurrence.
  22. I have a crap Lenovo tablet looking for a use as I've ordered a galaxy tab to replace it for work. It is very slow, but It could serve for setlists/prompts especially if depping. Is there a good android app, or am I best off just having a pdf. The ideal would be a setlist, andvrap.on a song brings up a page of notes/condensed tab/chord chart or whatever... Main requirements- never goes blank, stable - doesn't easily disappear or crash. Big letters.
  23. I had elbow bursitis. Doctor said it should sort itself but come back if it inflames. A few days later it went a funny colour and very hot. Horse-sized antibiotics and it then got better. My main issue is arthritis but playing seems to be the best treatment. Plus I had vestibular neuritis come on at a gig, fortunately the lying down vomiting phase came on after I got my gear away... a week in hospital and a month later still having the odd bout of nausea.
  24. I believe he is the son of the late great John Giblin who is probably my favourite bass player.
