    Feedback for ikay

Ian bought a pedal from me - no-hassle, prompt payment and friendly comms. Many thanks!
  3. You mentioned that the neck wasn't properly finished and needed sanding earlier didn't you. Doesn't that make it faulty or not of satisfactory quality and consequently it should be on them to cover the cost of return under distance selling regs? If the finish is inconsistent on the neck it's undisputable surely?
  4. No problems! They’re knobs that enable you to adjust the tone and volume. The builder originally tried Precision pickups with a jack socket. This is an upgraded version with a jazz pickup, extra large magnets and the volume and tone controls. It’s quite an agricultural design, but it is effective. I used this as a backup in the case (if my other pickup broke). I never had a cause to use it and am moving to Evah strings which have a synthetics core, which means they won’t work with a magnetic pickup.
  5. I have bought a lot of guitars & basses online, both new and secondhand and so far I've not had a bad experience in buying new instruments with just the stock pics shown, however when I bought my GuitarGuitar exclusive AAA Gibson Les Paul standard, GuitarGuitar listed photos of each guitar, so I had a choice of over a dozen and knew exactly what I was getting visually as well as knowing the weight (I chose the lightest one, which also was the one with the best figuring). Just to be sure it wasn't a dead lump of porridge (it isn't) and as I am lucky enough to live a few miles from the Epsom branch, I was able to have it delivered there so I could check it over very carefully before accepting it. Come to think of it, I believe most of my other instruments with a natural or sunburst finish have been bought secondhand so I was able to see pics of the woodgrain before buying. My Ben Gibbard mustang is a good example of this, it has really nice grain in the Ash where the joins between pieces are not very obvious, whereas I've also seen examples with mismatched and/or ugly grain, which I'd not have been happy with if I'd bought unseen.
  6. I asked to escalate to a manager. They’ve now come back and said they can arrange collection for £25, which still doesn’t makes sense because 1. The bass has a fault, so I shouldn’t pay anything. 2. Their own policy is if you return a faulty guitar which they find to be non faulty, they then charge you £9.99 to cover the return shipping so where does £25 come from? The pics of the bass they have on their site aren’t mismatched like the one they sent me.

  8. It’s the online team. I think they’re based in Newcastle
  9. I've heard of Tina Weymouth, but I thought she played a Mustang.
  10. Captain Sensible of The Damned played one as well, in the early days of the band, before moving to guitar.
  11. It would bug me. I mean my Epiphone Jack Casady's flamed top isn't book matched, but at least each half isn't wildly different from the other... Do these retailers think we don't talk to each other? Attitude's a bit rum, I reckon.
  12. That was a bit of a rollercoaster. I’d strongly recommend the Bassrig SV and Fifteen for Ampeg tones.
  13. Making current models Pre-Hohner Hofners 👍

  15. It would be impossible to trigger the synth with MIDI and audio simultaneously. It’s a monophonic synth so that would be confusing. Switching between modes was faster on pre-v4 units as it would simply switch to whichever input type was detected. Now MIDI- and audio-triggered parts are in separate parts of the memory. We do have relatively fast switching of the apps so perhaps this functionality could be re-introduced, or at least via a MIDI command.

  17. I'd put my hand up and confess I couldn't live with it either. If I accepted it, I'd also be forever worried others would feel the same when it was time to sell it on.
  18. I have the 5 string version of that! awesome colour!
  19. I put the East pre in as the fender one was so average. The East is such a great addition.
  20. Hey all, Just sold a pedal to Nick, all good my end and would happily deal with again no worries at all. Peace.
  21. That picture looks a bit like a Smiley with a monocle 🧐.
  22. Not a good year this one. Roll on '26 and hope for better news.
  23. Which branch is giving you this crap?
  24. Probably for the best. In my experience it's the married guitarists that have a tendency to ruin the band.
  25. This is a few years later, if you like that style you might like this
  26. Great sounding bass with different tonal options via the switching; series, parallel and single coil - plus able to mix configurations. Plays really nicely and the B string is great sounding. 35" scale length so lots of tone and detail in the lower range. Around 4Kg in weight. Ash body, maple top, maple board. Bought in July of this year and selling as no longer require a 5 string. Courier to be arranged by buyer.
