    ...never been a massive fan of short scale basses for gigging so normally overlook this thread, until realising that my Ibanez Talman is almost always on my lap when sitting in front of the computer for random noodling as the size makes it perfect for around the house!

    Great story, Jack, and Happy 20th Bass Birthday ! 🍻🎸🎶🥂 It's almost a 'Happy Jack, Lord of the Strings - or there and back again' kind of epic tale... Just goes to show why - when it gets under your skin - music, playing bass and this place, can become so all-consuming and life changing. Ronaldo says he's going to retire when he gets to a 1000 career goals, but compared to your gigging ambitions Jack, he's clearly a bit of a lightweight!! 😁

    The smaller ‘head’ section has 2 up-firing speakers, which seemed to help with on stage monitoring. That said, when stacked, it’s not exactly very tall, so I suspect that there’s some floor coupling going on too, with this arrangement.

    That's a very nice example of a rare bass, and I would say a very good price. Fwiw there are MIJ Washburn & Daion/Yamaki - specific FB groups where there might be significant interest in something like this. GLWTS!

    Me neither - I've bought at least 12 sets, including the ridiculously cheap £9.99 heavyweight NYXLs, and all have worked on Player's code, and all lasted as expected... I've found DRs to be not really any better, but cost significantly more. Newtone were good, but still not better. Rotosounds hardly lasted at all, Ernie Ball were OK as were Elixir but still no better that D'Addario. Only ones I like slightly more are Labella Super Slaps which were proper zingy.
