  2. I bought this beautiful bass last year for a project that has managed just two gigs in 18 months. I recently joined a new band and now need a different coloured bass. Before I bought it, I tried out the Squier and US versions, and this one has by far the smoothest, most playable, modern-feeling neck. It weighs 3.8kg / 8.4lb. It’s a joy to play, and the pickup is thunderous. I’ve swapped in the Retrovibe 4-brass-saddle dual-entry bridge for easier intonation (the original will be included). There’s a small dink by the bridge (pictured). Otherwise, there are no marks. It’s got new GR Balanced Nickel strings, and comes with a Fender gigbag. However. While it’s perfectly playable with a low action, the truss rod won’t tighten any further. The action at 12 fret is 3mm, so it’s fine with lower tension strings, but would struggle with thicker gauges. That’s why I’m selling so cheap.

  3. If you look at a typical driver, many manufacturers, Eminence for example, only publish the on axis response of their drivers. Most of the European manufacturers, Fane, Beyma, Feital Pro and Celestion (now Chinese owned but engineered in the UK I believe) publish both on and off axis frequency responses. Below is the frequency response of the Fane 10-300. All 10" drivers will be similar. You can see that at 45 degrees off axis, the output at 2KHz has dropped by approximately 10dB. With a properly designed two-way system with a compression driver, horn and crossover, the off axis response can be very close to the on-axis response of the single driver without sounding harsh or too trebley. If you think about where you ears are when a cab is on the floor, you may be well outside that 45 degree point so you cannot hear yourself properly. It does not matter what make you buy, It is Physics, and Ampeg, Barefaced, in fact no one can break those laws.
  4. Boss SY-1 has similar feature. It tracks surprisingly well, although I feel that it makes a calculation and follows after a short delay, like after the Attack (ADSR, anyone?). But if there's any signal coming in, the note stays there for ages.

  6. Gigged it again last week in a very different set, much more presence required, and again it was as good an amp as I could have hoped for. I kept it on the edge of break-up most of the time, occasionally pulling back into Motowny thump, but at other times unleashing the full visceral power of the power tubes. Even my Mesa M-Pulse can’t do the latter, it gets very close, but…… 🙂

  8. That’s great thanks, I do cover them over when away
  9. +tracking/latency/glitching = usability live. Really interested to see if the MXR lives up to the hype on this!
  10. I would suggest leaving them off. Much of the "dust" inside pots is actually bits of carbon that are dislodged from the track, so excess movement will cause more dust.
  11. No. I leave mine for months at a time untouched and they are always fine when they get an airing.
  12. I love the community-spiritedness of the people on here!
  13. My Valve amp (100Watt Sound City) was stolen in 1971 and was replaced with SS. I could not even lift a valve amp now.
  14. Yes, 5GHz is rock solid. There are two reasons for that, firstly the 2.4GHz band is shared with Bluetooth as well as cheaper radio mics and IEMs. Secondly, on 2.4GHz, the channels overlap. On 5GHz there is a guard band in between each channel. So while in theory 2.4GHz foes further, because of the congestion, it is a permanent traffic jam.
  15. Quick question for you valve amp users, these days I’m abroad a few months at a time when I can , do you think I need to get someone to turn them on and move the knobs and switches for me to keep them in use, or are they ok just left a while, it’s mainly my V4B, PF50T and Ashdown LB , thanks
  16. Hi all, Just thought I'd drop a message on here considering this is my listing. Firstly, thank you for all of your replies to this as if I've learnt a lot about this bass from this. I struggled to find information about this bass online to price this bass so went with a similar price to one listed on Reverb somewhere in Europe. From reading this is clearly very overpriced so I'll be making an adjustment for this. To answer someone saying as there are no strings there must be an issue with the neck I have since restrung this and plays great. I just took some quick photos to list the bass. I'd only put Pedulla in the title as another seller who is selling this had done the same. I presumed this was a model name but from research this clearly isn't. I appreciate all info on this and will be adjusting things accordingly. Any ideas on a more realistic valuation so I know what to price it at? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dan
  17. I say bring your most mental one. Vive la difference!
  18. I am not being greedy, I paid £450 a few months ago. It has done one gig but mostly sat atop my 8" cab at home.
  19. Thanks. I'll try not to be. Can't promise anything of course as I am a belligerent Scot. If you still have it by that time, I'd be very interested in playing your Epiphone Les Paul actually as I think it looks fantastic. It'd certainly be good to meet you and the rest of the peeps properly. Naturally, getting the train, I'd be travelling light, so one bass, possibly a small amp and maybe a few pedals. I don't know what folk would be interested in trying that I own as since quite a lot of it is "pointy," or dare I say it, "mental," it does sometimes put people off.
  20. It's getting crowded between those sheets! 😀 Fourplay - Between the sheets Vocals by Nathan East & Chaka Khan

  22. How about £600 each or £1000 for the pair, I've better things I could be using the cash for at present 👍
  23. Wait until I get around to the other Peaveys 😃
  24. Best FS thread for ages 👍
