  2. Hey Mike, how are you up for being one of the team organising this? You know Louth and are familiar with getting here and the general area, hopefully! We don't know eachother (yet) but that could work in our favour as we probably know different sets of bass players. What do you think? Perhaps 3 or more of us organising aiming car/van load each? Maybe Jan/Feb? Anyone else interested? I can organise a variety of amps and cabs on site. Will sound out the general bass bash tips. As a local start I can think of 10 or so in Louth and guess half would come along, maybe more with enough notice and cajoling 😉 (we're a shy lot 'round here).
  3. What is this 'Facebook' of which you speak..? ...
  4. I don’t get particularly sweaty hands but my thumb still sticks. It wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t for a couple of things… I have a thumb injury I got as a child, this is exacerbated by neuropathic nerve damage that goes from my neck, down my arm and into my thumb. And I can’t play with my thumb brace on. It bloomin’ hurts!
  5. Alex from EMG told me this a while back when I asked, so you'll need to make sure the string width is compatible. The version that is 108mm is the 5-string version which has a magnet length of 77.5 mm.
  6. New strawberry flavour! The Italians seem to he getting upset over Cheesy Pasta. They should show some respect, it's Crawley's signature dish!
  7. Thanks @ricksterphil, slightly embarrassingly - as a long term social media hater - I've joined....

  9. Yes indeed. It comes from the factory with D’addario XL Flatwounds.

  12. There's nothing irrational about those items. Those sperm whale basses are particularly stupid.
  13. Walrus Audio Canvas Mono DI/LI. Selling due to downsizing my board. Great little pedal with with switchable pad, ground lift, and summing options. Adds a nice bit of colour too! There's currently velcro on the back, but easy to remove cleanly. Located in Devon. Can meet in person if nearby, or buyer decides on/pays for postage. Here's my feedback thread:

  14. Line 6 HX Stomp XL, selling due to downsizing my board. It's in pretty good nick, it's spent the majority of its time on a pedalboard in a protective case. It currently has some custom and purchased presets on it, but I can reset it back to factory if preferred. It comes with velcro on the back, the rubber feet are in the box. Located in Devon. Can meet in person if nearby, or buyer decides on/pays for postage. Here's my feedback thread:

  15. 3 month old AMPEG SGT-DI started making intermittent pops and crackles. Tried different leads. Using just the SGT with the supplied power cable. Bought from PMT before the closed. Hoping warranty will still be valid with AMPEG. Have emailed Yamaha UK waiting for reply but AMPEG pedal, doesn’t come up as option in their fault report form Have sprayed contact cleaner in the outputs. Tried both preamp out and cab sim/phone outputs and still crackles every now and then. anyone else having problems or may know what’s happening? Failing Yamaha helping will take to my tech guy. Pity as was loving the tone - was planning on getting a Venture V7 head and cab next year to replace this and have just bass - amp - tuner to take out. Might have to bring that forward as got run of gigs coming up.
  16. That's a very shiny looking fingerboard. Are those flat wounds you've got on there?
  17. I had one as it was the only stand that could cope with a Warwick Buzzard 5 height-wise. The grabber mechanism fell apart after not a lot of use. If you don't need the extra height of the Ultimate, a Hercules is (IME) a much better stand. But the Stagg is better than both.
  18. Excellent MIDI controller keyboard with a real piano feel and 88 wooden keys (Fatar TL/40 WOOD). OS version 1.7 installed (be careful not to install the higher version, which freezes all the controls). Excellent condition considering its age. Comes with an external power supply (unnecessary, as it's self-powered via USB), a USB cable, and a Korg control pedal that works perfectly with this keyboard and can be used for sustain or other assignable functions. This still-relevant MIDI controller keyboard cost nearly €1,200 when it was released. I recently replaced it with a brand new Studiologic SL88 GT Mk2 just for fun, but there's hardly any difference between the two, except for the design and interface... If you look at the Studiologic website, you'll find all the necessary information: https://www.studiologic-music.com/support/numa_nero/
  19. Yes, yes. And if you painted him red, he'd be the fastest bass player EVER.
  20. People who only have one bass, and ask anyone else "why do you need more than one bass?"
  21. Imagine how good Marcus Miller could be if he removed his pickup cover.
  22. 180 pounds? Blimey, another celebrity on Mounjaro Ps, quickest bump ever!
  23. Don't know about redundant screws, but my bass with such an 'extra bit' has it so the neck can have room for more relief behind the fretted part of the neck and five mounting screws.
