  2. Hello, Very cool little Boss modeller for sale. Sounds great but I'm just not a modelling guy, I'm admitting defeat. Boxed, also comes with additional Bright Onion switch. £350 delivered please. Would consider trades for bass gear - amps, basses (J flavoured), whatever... In good condition, a few scratches on the bottom as pictured. Album with lots of photos here: https://imgur.com/a/9pniK6g

  3. Thighs of a Cow - The Wonder Stuff
  4. I did this for a few years, mainly on the Americana circuit. I then took my Jazz out for a multi-(rock) band all dayer in Sheffield and confused the soundman - he couldn't work put why my bass sounded the way it did! 😸 I think all the other bassists were active 5-string players and I had that setup.
  5. Not at the moment. Ive recently joined a alt rock band in Langport. We're writing and recording at the moment. Gigs later in the year hopefully. I was in a doom metal band in Devon before. My oldest daughter plays bass for Butane Skies, they're playing in Frome (and everywhere else) pretty regularly.

  11. Fair point. In which case I hate 5 string bass!

  13. Joe Osborn’s entire career was based on playing a Jazz with flats (and a pick).
  14. ***PRICE DROP NOW £1300*** 2010 US Stingray, 2EQ, CAR with rosewood board. One of the limited edition 133 basses, full fat ‘ray but with a soft gig bag case instead of a hard shell job. This is in excellent condition with one very minor ding on the top edge, and the pickguard is quite marked but obviously easily replaceable. Comes with a Hipshot D-tuner (long key though instead of short… doh), if you want the original tuner key I’ll chuck it in. I’ve also replaced the pickup with a Nordstrand MM4.2, which sounds flippin’ great. She’s quite heavy (10lb) but with a decent wide strap it feels ok. ***EDIT*** now comes with the option of a Warwick Rockbass semi-rigid case - photos added. Loathe to post this but can at buyer’s (insured) expense, or can meet in person at either Portsmouth, Southsea, Southampton or Lymington (I’m on the I.O.W.)

  15. This one has probably already been mentioned. You've been told the band is breaking up. Then you find out the band is still together only your no longer a member. Daryl

  18. I believe I went on later to clarify my answer once I had a better grasp of how that all worked. It turns out that an OTA compressor like Single Slice and The Watt are a "compressor-sustainer" and not a "compressor-limiter", so there isn't a set gain reduction ratio like there would be on a typical compressor-limiter. OTA compressors don't compress in a linear way like that, so it's not really something you can put a number on. Also glad to see people are excited for the new pedal I'm hoping to have stock built up for it by the end of September. I was originally planning to hold off on announcing it until it was ready to go, but I didn't tell Mike that, and he was excited after gig-testing it (which is always a good sign) and wanted to tell everyone.
  19. Agreed. When the crowd is into it a lot of other things don't seem to matter. Daryl
  20. I think the enthusiastic and engaged crowd is a big one for most of us. For me there's nothing worse than playing to a disinterested crowd. Daryl
  21. I would love a gig like that. Unfortunately I need the supplemental income from gigs Daryl

  23. Hi folks, Just in case any of us bedroom players wonder how to go about the replacement of that little jet engine fan at the back of RM 500 EVO & I think someone already mentioned it in one of previous posts but just in case.. It's purpose is: ,,the fan is there to change the air inside the enclosure, it does not have to provide a blast, just a gentle air exchange, to this end any fan you choose would be suitable.,, These are the words of mr.Dave Green from Ashdownmusic, who kindly responded to my query over what specs should the replacement fan be. So i am truly very grateful for his response given the original email was sent to ,,whoever,, at Ashdownmusic. Credit to them. 💗 That being said, the fan inside seem to be 60 x 60, might be 15 mm thick but i have feeling there is enough room for 25mm. So i ordered fan from RS Components, 19 Db at some 2500 rpm (RS badged, the other one with similar specs,if not slightly better, better make, was about £15 more)& if the plonkers from DHL have delivered it yesterday (it's just past midnight) i could of have had it fitted by now. Two wires to solder or just to attach correctly. The original fan is some no name stuff, the noise reminds me of APU at the back of RyanAir Boeing 737 when walking around the left wing towards rear entry lol.. Now seriously, it isn't bad at all but i like to muck about the things so hence the change, i've got Warwick Gnome iPro v2 and that is quieter then a tombstone compared to RM but then it is much smaller in size as you all know, less then A5, just over an inch thick.
  24. My duo has been working for around 30 years now without one rehearsal, ever! 😁

  26. This 100%. One of the reasons I always prefer Precisions over Jazz basses. My P-Lyte (PJ pickups) has a single volume plus a pan control which works fine for me.
  27. Hong Kong Garden - Siouxsie and The Banshees
  28. Think of the neck pickup volume as your master volume, and the bridge pickup volume as the "hollow twang" knob and you'll be ok leaving it turned down. Under no circumstances should the "hollow twang" knob be turned up on its own 😆
