I still think the Line6 POD Go is a brilliant bit of kit, but no DI though. Just bought a FlyRig v2 from Carlsim, only had a little time with it, but really looking forward to messing about with it a lot more. Some great sounds in there. Definitely has a DI out too.

Anyone bought a cheap (Chinese) neck off eBay?
Pea Turgh replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Bass Guitars
Thought that was a really nice green body for a minute, then wondered why the little Korg thing was inside the pick-up hole 🤣. That would be a cracking shade for a p-bass body! -
Another bucket list transcription, this is the (nearly) complete transcription for the tune 'Spears' from the 1984 Tribal Tech album of the same name. Stunning writing by Scott Henderson. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/spears-tribal-tech/

Sadly, I need to let go of my very special Spector NS Pulse II 5-string bass. Asking price is £1,000. I replaced the Tone Pump Jr pre-amp with a multi-coil filtering pre-amp from Lusithand Devices. Stock EMG pickups, not had a chance to swap them out with an actual multi-coil pickups but sounds amazing even without. If you are after the Wal sound, this setup will get you very close. Excellent condition, no scratches or dings, low action, no buzz, straight neck etc. UK buyers only. I'd prefer collection in person, but happy to post it via UPS or similar service (no evri) at the buyer's expense. Hard case included in price. Any questions, let me know! Specs: Body Wood: Solid Swamp Ash Neck Wood: 3-piece Roasted Maple; Bolt on Fretboard: Macassar Ebony Number of Frets: 24 Inlays: Dots Nut: Graphite Nut Width: 1.75" Scale: 35" Neck: EMG 40DC Bridge: EMG 40DC Bridge: Hi-mass Locking Tuners: Sealed Die-cast String Spacing at Bridge: .66"

Got a set of the 43-108s on the way, which I’ll likely put on my ‘Ray. Not expecting them to set the world alight but curiosity (and some good discounts) got the better of me! -
Looks like a quality chocolate product to me, rippled with praline. Looks yummy and no doubt sounds the same. Double thumbs up here 👍👍.

I'm no longer gigging, so another item up for sale. This bag offers a very high level of protection and with plenty of useful additional storage space. All zips work perfectly and the general condition is exceptionally good, with no rips or other damage. I don't have a box for postage, so this will have to be collection only.

The future of amps & cabs - stage props only?
Woodinblack replied to SimonK's topic in Amps and Cabs
It does in some things. If you went to a Rock or metal gig, you would expect to see a whole load of marshals along the back, even if they weren't being used. Otherwise it just looked wrong. In other groups, it is probably less important, or you don't even notice. -
I made up a rough bias circuit on my ancient but serviceable breadboard. There is a bridge rectifier clipped into the chocolate blocks on the 42V AC supply. With 249V AC mains (typical round here) I can get about -45V to -55V DC out of it. The final circuit will have 2 trim pots, one for each 'side' of the OT. I can always swap components if I can't get the dissipation within range.

Some of the early flangers had envelope followers, could be one of those. -
The future of amps & cabs - stage props only?
Woodinblack replied to SimonK's topic in Amps and Cabs
Well, yes they are, which is why i have something acting like a preamp, or basically an imperfect amplifier. I don't either, I generally play through my big headphones, or sometimes with an amp, but when I am playing at home I am not competing with any other musicians. -

I'll bring it along to your bass bash next year Rob.

Yes, yes and yes. But it’s all horses for courses. I used to hate seeing a band and getting stuck in front of (insert whoever you like except the bass player here) and not being able to hear anything else except their amp. But the ‘sterility’ of getting stuck in front of a PA speaker with everything in it and wondering why I can hear the bass player when they are ‘over there’ is weird.

More than happy to take it off your hands at a "load of junk" price if you want Absolute beauty as already said. I love little things like this 'notch'. I doubt I'd ever notice it if it wasn't for other people....

Kings Rd Vintage sent me the photos of the internals all those years ago but no mention on the neck plate discrepancy. That really was my only concern when I checked it out. I'm not going to change it though.

If you design your own Signature 15 string Bass???
itu replied to evrenyilmaz's topic in General Discussion
I am assuming this is a 3 x 5 string bass... Playing with a plectrum or fingers, then the order of the strings can be different. If there's a preferred string set (flat/RW, SS/Ni), I would start with that. Piccolo strings are pretty rare, there may be only few choices available. I suppose the bass has to be well made: to push three strings at once would feel harsh under the finger if the trio is far away from the fretboard. https://www.daddario.com/products/guitar/bass-guitar/xl-nickel-bass/exl280-nickel-wound-piccolo-bass-20-52-long-scale/ -
