  1. Past hour
  2. Remembering it's the hardest bit - and lugging around a bass tuned ridiculously low in order to play it!
  3. Yes I will do that..sounds Phenomenal🀟😊
  4. What tuning are you doing that in? I have done it a few times in its original, but that was when I had an actual tuned to C bass. I guess now I would just do it with a 5 string with the Boss XE on +1
  5. Yes thanks, it certainly does, I'm a very lucky man🀟😊
  6. This date is now in my calendar, boys and girls. πŸ˜‰
  7. Oh god, that reminds me, that song's on my to-do list as well. Fscking bricking it, mate. Apart from some of the intricacies, it's as much a memory test as anything else!
  8. First gig at the Merriott Social Venue near Yeovil last night. We were pretty rusty not having gigged since before Xmas and having been forced to cancel our last 3 weekly rehearsals due to illness and floods. Singer Kat still hadn't fully recovered from whatever bug had colonised her throat but we all agreed to just turn up and give it our best shot - including several ungigged new numbers. Thankfully Kat smashed it, the crowd loved us, the venue booked us for another gig in May plus their New Year's Eve bash - and a couple booked us for their wedding! One of the new numbers was No One Knows by Queens Of The Stone Age and our percussion was enhanced by the sound of my knees knocking together as the fear of what I was about to attempt took a hold of me. Fcuk the gig money! Nailing that song was what made my night πŸ™‚
  9. Maybe a silly question and I’m sure you’ve asked, but doesn’t the owner have the original matching tuner from when they changed it
  10. A fiendish and convoluted plan I wish I had thought of now!
  11. Just acquired one of the above bases - very nice sound and the neck is lovely (for a P Bass!). The previous owner has replaced one of the original "aged" Pure Vintage Fnder Tuning Machines with a Hipshot Drop D Tuner which I'd like to remove (I'll never use it and it looks"wrong"). However, I can't find a replacement tuner with is a direct replacement AND has similar "aging" . Anyone know where I could get one/or buy a single Fender Pure Vintage (reverse) Tuning Machine with similar aging? The other option is to replace all the tuners with something which looks similar. Anyone know what might fit (other than the Fender Pure vintage ones)? Gotoh make some which are a slightly different design but look very similar in terms of aging. And if the replacements were lighter AND non reverse that's be a win!! Can't attach a pic as the guitar is at the Wizard guitar fettlers (The Guitar Repair Workshop in Manchester) but here's a stock pic
  12. Okay, after doing a bit of reading I'm getting a bit confused as to best practice to find high spots. Should I not be following the string angle on the neck and following the centre line with my rocker? As I understand it, if I follow the string travel I'll be measuring for a compound cylinder rather than a cylinder and it's going to give a false measurement. Am I right in this assertion? Any advice appreciated!
  13. Roundabout - Yes
  14. So my theory that you were faking it was wrong. I always thought you borrowed somebody else's bass gear just so you could come to The Big Fat South-West Bass Bash!!
  15. I use a Sennheiser XSW-D, which is a similar small bug style unit. The way I mount it, I made an extension cable that lets me mount the bug to my strap. In my case, the wireless has its own specific unit it clips into that gives it a belt clip, which with my strap works perfectly for retention. Depending on the size of the unit, I know Xvive have a holder for their own units that'd probably do the trick for you.
  16. EHX Freeze - minimal signs of wear, velcro on base. Includes power adapter and all original packaging. Price includes UK delivery.
  17. Ouch!! Glad that didn't happen to me when we played Summer Of '69 last night.
  18. No cheap jibe intended, no part of the post ignored either. Saying you don't want to mess them around too much doesn't really overwrite the ultimatum you gave them, if that's what you actually sent them? Of course if you ended your email to them with "Don't worry about it though, you're cheaper than others anyway" then fair enough!
  19. Agree, I couldn't cover up that beautiful grain either πŸ‘πŸΌ
  20. For sure, if that was all I had said. But you obviously chose to ignore the second sentence in that very same post? It's super easy to quote folk out of context, Kev - anyone after a cheap jibe can do that. They're completely at liberty to say "no", or to extend the offer should they so wish and build additional customer loyalty and goodwill.

Did a deal with Spencer on a bass via a postal deal. Absolutely brilliant to deal with & would definitely do so again. Cheers! B.
  22. Aaah that is so unlucky 😒😒😒 Got to admire your never say die attitude though πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
  23. That's interesting, not seen that before, keep us posted on how well it works πŸ‘πŸΌ
  24. Today
  25. Fabulous, what year is that then @marcblum waaay too many strings for me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ What are the controls? πŸ€”
  26. Redux. There's a load of photos from Jersey. Stuart We were crawling over the soundcheck: St Helier airport 7.00am (note t-shirt that Stuart gave me). I'd just come back from Spain, hence my complexion reflecting mu Portuguese heritage. And glasses!: I had nothing to sign, so I bought a book and they signed that!
