  1. Past hour
  2. I don’t suppose this offering from a fellow German company helped https://www.thomann.co.uk/harley_benton_beatbass.htm HB Beat Bass
  3. Quite a busy night for me last night, finished up bassing for about half the acts on. Some songs I knew, some I'd done before and had written the chords down for, some I could read the chords over the guitarist's shoulder, and a couple I just had to wing (but one was four chords and the other was two). I'd been using the TC BAM200 and homebuilt Plenty cab, but last time when the guitars got a bit loud and I turned the BAM200 up to match them it started sounding a bit shouty (for want of a better description) so I decided to use the Tecamp Puma 900 instead and it was much better sounding.
  4. Talk about getting everywhere - this was from BBC sports personality of the year last night!
  5. To my mind the fact that Chris Wood, a highly creative virtuoso player known as much for his electric as for his upright playing, chooses to use a Hofner pretty much exclusively (occasionally seen with a Fender also), speaks volumes. I've never played one and often thought about it, but then remember that I really don't appear to get on with short scale basses
  6. I stand corrected, I should have known as I had a “project” Jack bass for a while.
  7. Reduced to £325. This is more than worth it for the fuzz and filter circuits alone before all the bells and whistles!
  8. Yes, I have. I think the tally is two ski trips to Jasper, three to Banff, and 1 to Panorama. The only summer trip was to the Yukon as part of an Alaskan trip - and that was 30 years ago... Last trip to Banff was about 20 years ago. As a solo traveller, ski trips are expensive anyway, but Canada gets very expensive because the hotel rooms are family rooms and so the single supplements are large. I have never skied in the US (and won't now at all) as the price gouging for single travellers is even worse. Also, it's generally more expensive as Canadian ski pass costs are more than 50% more than say French ones, equipment hire is also more expensive than in Europe. I'll have to wait to getting signed-off from the injury before committing to booking, but I'd expect to make it to Banff around January 2027.
  9. Updated some trade options before I pull it!
  10. It's a 34" scale bass - full factory specs are here. https://www.music-man.com/instruments/basses/the-game-changer
  11. £150 now includes postage bump
  12. What a handsome bass! - Is it short scale?
  13. It would definitely make a difference, thats for sure
  14. Cheers pal, the tort guard has a lovely genuine look to it that is hard to picture. Even the indent left by the thumbrest looks genuine. Ill post a pic tonight of her wearing all her jewellery and the case i can chuck in
  15. Absinthe Makes The Heart Grow Fonder - Dean Martin
  16. I have a budget of around £1500, so which model, new or used would you recommend please. I've never played a Spector before so I don't know a lot about them. My search for a Warwick Streamer LX 5 that I missed out on a couple of years ago on here are very hard to find unfortunately. Thanks in advance, Woody.
  17. Just anchor your hand near the E and move to B when you need. It’s about your mental approach not whether you use fingers or are pick-weird 😛
  18. Do any of the lights on the ethernet socket come on when when everything is plugged in? Can you make this adaptor work with your laptop? What make and model number is your Android Tablet? It simply might not be able to make a network connection via the USB port.
  19. That's the way we're going - being in a niche, and moving soon, we decided to focus on a YouTube channel. But I'm just not good enough to sing and play mandolin (from memory), while moving around in a vaguely co-ordinated way and smiling at the camera. So we abandoned the video until we've recorded our songs in the studio.

  21. A couple of people have asked about trades, but honestly I don’t think there’s anything I want or need.
  22. I really didn’t like the Sandberg strings that came on my Lionel. I thought the sound overall was a bit weak and they felt a bit ‘sticky’ to my fingers. I changed to 50-105 EBMM shortscale slinkies which work well for me.
