It arrived today. Connected my phone to the audio and midi bluetooth connections and streamed music. Plugged my iPad in with the usb-c lead from the KG. Just used the built in camera app to record video and it worked perfectly, bass and streamed music both recorded. Maybe you could try a firmware update, or play with the USB settings?

Yeah im going to head across, watch footy, eat food and "admire basses" (gotta keep up the illusion im here for bass shit). Youve worked in IT for 20+ years at a uni and are denied a mod postion. That sucks!

No, no, no! Coil over your hand putting a half twist into each loop so they are all completely limp. Thus is how I was taught to hank a rope. Minimises tangles, as used by seamen for generations. Then velcro, rather than securing with a loop round and through.

Virtually new Fender Bassman 100 cover from Roqsolid, i got it to use while my flightcase was being manufactured so was only used briefly. Its a little dusty but will wipe. They're about £65 new + shipping Cover is in Hope Valley, happy to post within UK, probably gonna cost a tenner just for how small it doesn't fold up.

I think this could be a good shout. If you go down this route my advice would be to make sure you have your key ingredients in place early. I spent 4-6 months (with a friend) rehearsing, planning and putting together an Aerosmith tribute and we were so keen and over the moon with the guitarist chemistry, drummer, band name and sound that we were ploughing ahead without the crucial ingredient, Tribute Steven Tyler. We auditioned a lot of singers (male and female) and we always thought that it would just be matter of time, we never got there and didn't have a Plan B. We could have taken one of the auditioned singers and easily done something else very good but all of us were fixated on Aerosmith. We found out the hard way why there aren't many Aerosmith tributes around. I would drop everything to be in a good Aerosmith tribute (sorry, current bandmates). I'd also love to do a Pearl Jam tribute, I'd get to wear Vans and play my Hamer every gig. Having an idea of what tribute you'd like to be in and knowing all the obvious bangers off pat gets you off the blocks.

I'd stick with the cable - it's traditional for a reason - but work on my routine so I was performing an equal number of moves in the opposite direction. Not only would this keep the cable tangle-free but it would inject an element of variety into what might otherwise become a predictable performance. It will be necessary to make doubly sure all necessary connections are secure, and to be aware of the increased risk of inadvertant headstock > cymbals > drummer's cranium > guitarist's teeth interface.

Never played in a trib band myself, but most seem to be put together by people who are particular fans of the act & personally influenced by them. It might be an idea to think about it from that perspective with a view to starting a band rather than walking into an existing one.

This is how it works. As soon as I did a few scratch band wedding gigs I found the phone started pinging. (Nobody rings anymore, do they?) Thankfully I’m out of that now.

Very much this^^^^ and who knows you from seeing you play in other bands. That is not to say that advertising on Join My Band, etc doesn’t work too (I got my current gig through JMB) but the ‘network’ is where a large percentage of gigs come from.

Show Us Your Unusual Scratchplates/Pickguards

And this is why basses should be natural finish with no scratchplate. -
Agreed! Which multi-fx have you come across that don't allow parameter assigns?

Mrs Zero says I always sound like me. I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.

Aye aye min, I'm not a mod - simply spending time here damn near every day isn't enough to rise to those exalted heights! I'll see you later on for the fitba?

It’s about who you know really. I dep on rhythm guitar (mostly) and bass (occasionally) in a Dire Straits tribute that plays theatres and arts centres all over the UK. I met the BL through a mutual friend who was putting together a scratch band for a wedding - not something I recommend btw!

Christmas presents....What did Santa bring you?
NancyJohnson replied to Mudpup's topic in General Discussion
I guess it's just indicative of age/monetary availability, but we just seem to buy stuff when we want it rather than holding out for the 25th December. I also have my birthday on December 1st, so that screws things up, too. I never really want anything, but suppose there is this expectation that someone will pick up on something I've said, but alas, nope. Ever. I've been expecting a sausage making machine for over a decade. I drop hints, but tumbleweed. Inevitably, nothing (obvs) discernably bass-centric arrived (so nothing unusual on that front); we did treat ourselves to a pair of Sonos ERA100 speakers - my old ones went to @RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE a couple of weeks back - I just wanted an upgrade to allow Bluetooth and a wired-in method of playing the odd CD. Much to my chagrin I found out that these don't fit my stands, so I ordered in a pair of adaptors on Christmas Eve and they actually arrived today (shipped from Amazon in the US, so full credit where due). Beyond this, got some Canadian Bourbon (Bearfaced) and some smellies.
