Bought this quite recently from Jay-synchro here, as a temp head while I pondered a bigger commitment to drive my pair of 210s. Frankly I was shocked! - and I've gigged with it a few times happily. Plenty of power but what surprised me was the clean, punchy sound. These heads are way better than their small size and price suggest. This is the V2 300W (into 4 ohms, around 160/170 into 8 ohms) and it definitely has the power and headroom to handle average pub/club gigs with any decent cab. I have been running it flat eq most of the time, with small bass and mid adjustments to various rooms. Complete as sold new:, box, manual, midi lead, kettle lead. All in virtually as new condition. Offered for less than I paid (that's fair I think) and a little over half new price. Happily ship UK at cost (around £6 I expect).

Artist music platform options - Soundcloud alternatives?
Woodwind replied to xgsjx's topic in General Discussion
I hadn't heard of hearthis. I will be in a similar position to you later this year where I'll need to share some works in progress and I was totally put off setting up a new SoundCloud account, so I will give it a look -

This bass came from a local music service and part of the money from the sale will be going back to them. It is pretty messy but completely solid and functioning fine. It’s slightly small for a 3/4 size so I have labelled it as 5/8 but I may be wrong about this. The end pin goes high enough that it feels fine to me but would suit somebody on the smaller side. Playing string length 102cm Length of body 108cm Upper bout 49cm Lower bout 66cm Depth of ribs 19cm Swell back, I believe it is a carved top and plywood back. The fingerboard is a light coloured wood (maple?) stained black. It’s just labelled ‘Made in Hungary’. The action is currently fairly low and it’s a bit rattly on the E string but this could be solved with heavier strings or fitting a new bridge or adjusters. The neck joint looks like it has never had a problem. See photos for messy edges/varnish especially on the bottom corners. There are a couple of old cracks on the front which appear to have been glued and do not seem to be open. Priced low for quick and easy sale. Come and have a look/play. It’s not gonna be a pro instrument but would be ideal for someone starting out on upright bass.

I thought it was incredibly boring. Pity as it could have been really interesting. The interviewer was a tw*t. -
My very first amp was a Carlsboro-made 50 Top. They reissued them a good few years ago but they are long gone now. Nice amp (all valve 50 watter). They also made a 100 Top. Bill Nelson (Be Bop Deluxe) was a Carlsboro man.

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
mikebass456 replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
We always record our rehearsals - mainly to be able to listen back individually to the progress made, to be able to play along to what might be different arrangements to the originals, and also to catch and moments of brilliance!!! Good luck with the new band - it's always great to be making music with mates.....😎👍🤘 -

We had a very good practice last night. Part of last night was getting our sound and mix sorted. And without much effort it was very good. Especially when none of us have much experience or have dealt with that end of things. We're a new band and have our first gig in a few weeks. We went through the songs we have and they sounded really good. One of the new ones to the list, played it first time, it sounded like we'd been playing it for months. Very happy all round. Can't wait to hear the recording the drummer made. -

Marcus at Bassdirect did a video on mark king basses which used a few Jaydees from different eras. Might be worth giving them a call, they have them in from time to time.

Soledad started following Fender Santa Ana Overdrive pedal

Used at home with a Fender all-tube combo, but not playing guitar at the moment and need to recover from some big bass spends!! Santa Ana Overdrive - super-versatile. Renowned for producing a very convincing tube-like overdrive, from subtle to massive. The 4 band EQ with level and drive also serves as an allround EQ with level flat or boost (for solos etc). Used mainly at home through a Fender all-valve combo - produces a very 'musical' overdrive with lots of tonal control. Unmarked condition, usual velcro on base, takes standard 9v neg pin power supply. This is just over half-price, but it has to go. Will post UK at cost (around a fiver).

Excitement mounts. Sweetwater were great, easy transaction. Shipping (UPS) should have been three days (Fort Wayne, Indiana to Houston), but it took double that, so there was a logistics concern if the package hadn't dropped before today. Brother in law flies back to 'blighty tomorrow, should have it in a couple of days.
