  1. Past hour
  2. Mmmm.... Now that is a work of beauty. Lovely amounts of usage. No showroom queen (in a really good way), you'd have no issues using this. Thankfully I'm completely skint but that's a great looking bass.
  3. Back in the days before cheap amplification upright players use to spend some time finding the part of the stage that they felt best amplified their instrument, usually a resonant bit of flooring near a reflective corner. I've occasionally found this can make a difference to me as the player, even in my music room there's a part of the wooden floor that's more resonant and the whole instrument seems to benefit, but whether anyone else can hear any difference is debatable. As @Jean-Luc Pickguard says, if you're standing on the same platform that's going to kill most of any resonance anyway (you could always lower the endpin and not stand on the platform however, this might be the best bet but would look odd!). Key question is do you want to hear the bass better yourself, do you want the audience/other players to hear it better, or both. I think a platform might help you, but will make little or not difference to other people's hearing it in anything other than a very small and/or quite room.
  4. Really enjoyed that 👍

  6. Can't beat a Boss CE-2B I had one once - I have no clue what happened to it - but now have a Cog clone
  7. I have strong suspicions that it is just a way for guitar makers to speed up the drying process of their stock and then come up with a suitable reason for the colour change that punters will believe.
  8. I can't put this bass down it sounds and plays so great. I got some self adhesive wheel weights and put them in the control cavity - 5 strips wasn't enough so I've ordered another 5. If £10 sorts out the only issue this might be one of the best buys ever. I don't really want to go the ultralites route as I couldn't live with screw holes from the original tuners.
  9. Still for sale mate?
  10. I'm 5ft 9 so I'd have to get some Gene Simmons boots to get anywhere close!
  11. Mine came with the top set, but I was sent the bottom set. Long gone now I'm afraid!
  12. I too have the software but none of the presets, a little frustrating as I can remember being sent the 'new' ones from Alex.
  13. I picked up a USA MM Stingray from my local music shop in 2011 when I was 18 - knocked them down to £700 including the hardcase etc. That still feels like a good deal to this day, still my main instrument.
  14. I'd love to play in a Type-O-Negative tribute. I'm not sure I've got the looks to pretend to be Peter Steele and at only 6'1" I'm far too short. I love playing their songs though.
  15. Could I put 3/4 strings on a 4/4?
  16. Barely on my bass. £45 £35 + Postage.
  17. I have to admit that up until about 2 years ago, I don’t think I’d seen a roasted neck. Yet, they seem to be going on everything now. Is there a benefit to the process or is it just the in thing. Genuine question this, I’m not against them, I think they look great. Just curious as to whether there’s more to it than aesthetics. Alex
  18. I had the 750 and 752 both great amps
  19. I've never seen or heard of a cello riser, but in theory I can see how the endpin could transmit vibrations to the surface of the riser which in turn *might* set up vibrations in the riser. Standing with all of your weight on the surface that you're looking to vibrate, however, is bound to damp/mute a lot of the resultant vibration, so maybe the design should be ammended to include an additional partial platform only connected at the edges to stand upon? Something that might maximise the volume gain would be design with a lightweight circular plate suspended so it is free to vibrate, with a cup-like depression in the centre for the endpin. I could imagine this might have a similar effect to the resonator in a dobro.
  20. Purchased a headless bass from Music Yo years ago. It got delivered to the wrong person (in the wrong city). They sent me another ones out within a few days....then the original one turned up. I guess a free bass counts? 😎
  21. THIS may have been the application.
  22. Just grabbed a set of flats for way cheaper than usual. Worth keeping an eye on smaller retailers too—some of the better deals aren’t getting shouted about as much.
  23. Hi Karl May have a solution if still available, have messaged you, Thanks
  24. IIRC, and this would need checking, the module was set to a mono block rather than dual with an active crossover. I believe the active cabinet still used a passive crossover as per the BBII. (Hence you'd be able to take the module out completely. (With caveats). Thus, the presets installed were for 'colour' settings as well as the expected HPF type protection possibly. I don't recall reading about any other DSP such as compression or Limiting. I used to have a copy of the editor app somewhere, but not of the preset files.
  25. Atelier Z 2 Band preamp. 4 pots, Volume Volume Bass Treble. Got for a project, but never uses. UK postage included
