  5. Hi Terry, Adding a pickguard sounds like a fun idea! Self-adhesive pickguards can be a good option since they don’t require drilling.
  6. Selling a couple of sets of used Elites flatwound strings, previously fitted to a P bass (cut 4 in-line). These strings have a similar tone to GHS Precision Flats (warm with prominent mids) but with slightly lower tension thanks to the round core (medium tension overall). They're also a bit smoother than the GHS flats. Ideal if you like classic flatwound tone with a comfortable, supple feel. One set has only been fitted for a few days and is still fresh. £30 The other set has been fitted for a while and have fully mellowed. Note: some parts of the silking have come off the older set. £20 Postage included in the prices. Feel free to PM me if you've got any questions
  7. I used a piece of holographic sticker cut to shape stuck to the front of the guitar I made in the late 70s:
  8. Welcome back Bado.
  9. selling my incredible 1975 Musicman HD130 amp. Bought this back in 2021 and had a flight case made it for it straight away. Was serviced just before I bought it as well. Sounds amazing.

  16. Not really. You could buy a yard stick, or even a 2 ft rule and measure from 12th fret. Neither will be particularly accurate. 30"/ 32"/ 34" or 35", these are just rough numbers; all they mean is the speaking length of a string will not be shorter that the given number. Actual speaking length varies on the string; gauge and construction. Intonation is set by ear or tuner not measurements 👍
  17. Thats encourging news. Any pics or a rundown of any setup you did?

  19. Thanks for the heads up - I was looking and am now sorted 🙂
  20. I totally get it. I bought an Aria Legend Jazz for £60 from someone who got it, played a few times and forgot about in a cupboard. I put new Wilkinsons in it, a Fender Himass bridge, new pots and electrics, added a Fender waterslide decal for the hell of it, fine wire woolled the neck and fret ends for that smooth 'played in' feel and because now it's essentially part of me it's my go-to bass indoors and more often than not my live weapon of choice. It's hard to explain but because I put 'me' into it I could never part with it.
  21. well there's the rub, I have no idea how it would work but it is pretty scruffy the way it is
  22. As I'm an idiot I pasted this in the wrong chat. This is one way to cut a sheet of plywood down from 1440 x 660 for pieces for the 8" Basschat speaker. There are others but this does it in six cuts if you can stack the pieces, click on it to expand. If you have your own guide rail BUT it's not 1.3m long, you can also use cut 3 first, then cut 4, place them on top of each other to do cut 1. Still the same number of cuts. Apparently my circular saw will do 66mm of cuts with the blade at 90 degrees. It's a relatively cheap Makita (for Makita) https://amzn.eu/d/j6vA5Sf My guide is only 1m long so I do the same cut pattern as @tauzero. Your local timber merchant may have their own way to cut this. my local one has a sign adjacent to the very large table saw, saying this is highly dangerous equipment and under no circumstances tell the operator how to do his job So 24mm of plywood should be no problem and neither should 36mm of plywood (mmmmm...). It has an 80 tooth wheel on so it does very nice fine cuts and I have absolutely no idea if that makes a difference or not on the depth. If anybody can say for certain it's OK to cut 36mm of plywood without it destroying the 80T blade or motor? I'll have try when the weather gets better. Currently we appear to be doing our best to emulate Noah's flood in North Yorkshire. One day of decent weather and two weeks of rain and another week forecast. My poor dog never seems to have enough time to get dry from each walk
  23. Wow Inga, are you a real comedian?
  24. Hi folks, Bought this about a month back after selling my first and wanting to play again. It’s brilliant, the new Entropia part is awesome, the new distortions (Sansamp etc) were killer. I haven’t tested the new modulation stuff yet, but presuming it will rock. Selling for one reason, and that’s because I want to experiment with an axe fx, and this will be surplus to requirements. That arrives tomorrow and probs should attempt to offset. No doubt I’ll grab one of these again. this is mint and still has the screen sticker. Comes with power cable and case as expected. based in Aberdeen - can ship. I’d like about £800 again (save yourself some cash!), so i’d imagine £825 after PayPal fees.
