Is this the stupidest use ever of fan frets?

As a bass vi and a baritone guitar? -
You can get these in various finishes. https://www.guyker.com/en-gb/products/guyker-gb205-5-string-electric-bass-bridge-vintage-style-saddle-bridge Careful groove selection should allow you narrower but consitent string spacing.

Hey guys So I’m a 5-stringer and brought a Fender American Pro 5 String as the band I’m in really suited that P-bass sound. I do use the 5th string quite a bit but having spent 15+years playing a Warwick I’m finding the string spacing and action height (it’s been setup but it still feels a bit higher) a bit awrkward. I hadn’t played mt Warwick since I brought my P-bass until today and was reminded how much I preferred the string spacing and action height from my Warwick. So I was wondering are there any 5 String P-Basses out there that have a smaller string spacing and can get lower without loads of fret buzz like my Warwick. suggestions most welcome thanks!

Yes, the darker Tort scratch plate is the one, although I really like the anodized gold.

Ok this was for a project but I no longer need it. This is a brand new Allparts Jazz neck, never installed of used. Since purchasing I have added a Fender Logo supplied by Rothko & Frost and a bone nut. The frets have been dressed, fretboard oiled and it's in beautiful condition. David Wilson then completely finished the neck in lacquer with a lovely tint on the face, his work is outstanding. In total this neck owes me about £600 ish so offering it out at £500 including UK delivery. Open to offers and potential trades HX Stomp, Radial JDI, Bassrig… let me know

That applies to many fashion products. They're made in the same factories, using the same basic components as budget items. Modern mass market quartz watch movements are so good, they'll rival or better a Rolex for accuracy. My favourite example is Oakley sunglasses. The Oakley brand is owned by Luxottica, which also owns just about every other major brand and makes for most of the fashion houses. The cost to produce those Oakleys people pay hundreds for is 15 cents. That's what they come off the production for.

Refinishing/staining sanded area of jazz neck after repair

I saw a suggestion to use light oak wood stain so might give that a try. -
Since you're round the corner from them in MK, is there any news from Blackstar about whether there's updates coming to the Unity range? As I mentioned in my little "review" earlier in this thread, there's lots to like but a load of little niggles (no mute/standby switch, fragile toggles, effect controls being on the back, only being able to get the full 700W out of the U700 head into 2.67ohms) - these all seem like relatively simple things for them to address. As I mentioned, I have a Unity combo that I use at home every day and I love it for practising. I'd be far more inclined to invest in the bigger rig if they could address these relatively small issues with it. Oh, and ditch the cloth grilles. I bought a bass amp, not a scratching post!

They both look pretty good 👍. Seriously tempted.

Just got mine to replace the Mooer Bass Sweeper and I'm blown away. I love how nicely it couples with Emma Electronic DiscumBOBulator. See, Disorder has a CV sockets - including ENVELOPE OUT, and DiscumBOBulator has a SIDE CHAIN INPUT. The DiscumBOBulator is an autowah by default, but if you connect these two, DBB becomes an envelope follower, controlled by Disorder's envelope even if Disorder is turned off; as long as it's plugged in to power source, the envelope - along with its sensitivity knob - works! They could be stacked too, of course.

I find there are two core sounds with my DB, how it sounds acoustically and how it sounds amplified. I love it with Gamuts, makes my soul sing, but sounds very average amplified. Stick some Spiros on it and while it sounds average acoustically, it’s much better amplified. Might be worth some experimentation?
