  2. My experience is that when it comes to basses, at whatever price point, Yamaha don't make rubbish. They're always good designs that are as good or better than anything else for that money, be it a budget bass or a high-end one. I remember those RBX basses as fairly decent budget PJ basses. What I do remember is that they were nice and light, which is never a bad thing.
  3. Depending on the body proportions and the strap length, the first one is much more universal. Here I would say, more carve is better, but I have had issues with my hands. If the player sets the bass very low, the carve is nearly useless.
  4. Put away 10 quid a week and before you know it you will have choices in quality 112 cabs that can fully drown out your current one.
  5. I use 13A twin core mains cable.
  6. My goodness is this still here! These are great cabs and at that price a complete steal, if I didn’t already have one I would be snapping this up. GLWTS
  7. Went to see GNOME last Friday. That. Was. Awesome.
  8. Could possibly deliver if anyone's interested.
  9. I only get involved in stage management side of it but not what the SE does FOH. I do listen to what he has FOH during my line check and that it matches my on stage tone. SE's have often told me that the bass channel is almost flat EQ and that the tone from my Mesa amps is good enough on its own. Dave
  10. By the way, welcome to the forum. David

  12. The red jack socket below the DI is the speaker output. As Bill says, you will need a jack to speakon lead to connect your amp to that speaker. David
  13. You need a cable with 1/4" on one end and Speakon on the other. What's labeled as Direct Output goes to a mixing console, not a speaker. Read the manuals. If you don't have them do a search to find them. BTW, you're in the wrong forum. This is the PA section. 😒
  14. Everyone except for the drummer is set up before me. They're all in their early 40s and move a lot faster than me. In my older age I'm overall a lot more practical about my gigs. And anything I can take off my plate to make the gig go smooth for me , I'll do it. But not at anyone else's expense. I might do a little tweaking for my sound on stage. Not much, as soon as I hear something I like and my chorus pedal is set I'm good. Dave, I completely delegate the sound in the house to the sound guys. That's not my area of expertise. Hopefully they'll get me a good sound and place me properly in the mix. I'm not getting involved with that part of a show. Keep in mind, 10 years ago I'd definitely be on the other side of the fence. 16. Well I ordered a Nano in the end, but then have returned it. it arrived just after the launch of the new V2 captures, and it did sound great, but ultimately I found only being able to have 1 capture per preset quite limiting. Also I found it annoying not being able to turn an effect on and off, and having to have two different presets, one with the effect and one without it. I was very impressed with the sound quality of the captures, especially the Tech 21 GED 2112. Aside from a Boss Katana Go, this was my first foray into digital effects, and I liked them a lot. I also found the app quite easy to use, and set up presets etc. Its a shame that Neural dont have a device that sits between the Nano and the full size QC, but I guess this is where the Anagram fills the gap. When I used the Nano powered by a USB battery pack, there was quite a lot of interference, which is something to watch out for. It was fine through headphones with the battery pack, and fine with the power supply through the amp, just not the battery pack.
  17. I got this bundled with something else and have no need for it. I've never used so no idea how good/bad it is but it's cheap, comes with a cable and clip for a stand and I'll be happy to post it if you pay the postage. Onsale for £19.99 at Andertons https://www.andertons.co.uk/ordo-d10-dynamic-vocal-mic/?msclkid=04ebe81098721a3c9c91813d2808131e&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=AMC | Smart Shopping | Full Catalogue&utm_term=2324161424030427&utm_content=Ad group %231 I work in Central London so happy to hand over somewhere in zone 1, ideally near Euston/Russel Sq or heading south to Waterloo. Yes. I'd consider swaps for something interesting under a tenner!
  18. Cool little phaser pedal from the JHS budget line, was on my board for the last 8 months or so but I just prefer the more simple Phase 90 for my use, the less knobs the less chance of me fiddling during gigs! It can pull off the Phase 90 vibe and also do much more extreme sounds with the feedback knob switched on. Pretty much as new except having Velcro on the bottom, with the original box and bits and pieces. Price includes UK postage, will knock £5 off for local collection
  19. In the past I've found it useful to play along to drum rudiments. I also trg to vary my rhythm when playing certain songs. Perhaps most of us don't think about naming rhythms or consciously learning them, perhaps shuffles and bo diddley... or just play along to different drum machine rhythms without actually breakingthem down. I was listening to 'Add to Playlist' earlier and they mentioned Samba rhythm. It made me think 'how is a samba constructed?' I found this short video interesting: Spoiler: it does not mention samba...

  20. Thanks for the input, is a lovely sounding amp 👌
  21. I'm kinda with you. I never really saw the point of it and usually just ignored it hoping it would go away but thought i should ask the question just in case i need it. 😂 Dave
  22. I watched the Nathan East interview earlier this week, along with the Freddie Washington video, and both very enjoyable. Scott Devine did a good job with both. Personally, I found them far more interesting than the three part series on Sky Arts in the other thread. I think I will give the Flea interview a watch as well. Thanks for the upload...👍
