  2. Nice one, Chris. I will avoid both for now, then. I have plenty of ideas for more obscure transcriptions to be getting on with!
  3. Absolutely brilliant. Some cracking vocals on there and your bass sounds so smooth and warm. Very nice playing. I'm also a fan of some of Peter Gabriel's music but not all but that was so good. Loved the wee vid you made too, it makes a difference to a song when you have a fun vid to watch. Many many thanks for sharing that, i really enjoyed it. Now correct me if i'm wrong but did i count 4 different girls in that clip ? One in particular has an amazing range taking the higher vocal parts her voice remained faultless. I like to hear that kind of vocal line. Dave
  4. John Wayne is Big Leggy - Haysi Fantayzee
  5. Nice Les Paul bass, great colour on the ‘burst.
  6. Just weighed this again......unless something wrong with the scales I am using. I initially stated 3.5kgs, but showing 3.9/just under 4kgs.
  7. I'm pretty stoked how this 2023 model is getting a nice yellowing on the binding. I might get a faded custom pickguard made to match, but I'm happy with the look atm.
  8. I've had a few enquires re courier; to make it easy, UK mainland courier cost (inc 'proper' insurance to £1400) is £35.
  9. Where Have All The Cowboys Gone - Paula Cole
  10. Of course, although opinions may differ on guitar/keyboard/drum/brass forums.
  11. Midnight Cowboy - Faith No More (orig. John Barry)
  12. Just bought an Ibanez srmd 4 string. Photo to follow aftera clean, new strings and a set up (all badly needed). On the subject of strings, what are we using gauge wise? I like 40-100 on my 34" bass. How much difference in tension if I just stick to these or should I consider slightly heavier strings, say 45-105? All help appreciated, I've asked the same question on a new topic in the accessories thread also.
  13. Zoom BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter to connect your multi effects to the Zoom Guitar Lab software. Unused, unopened and no longer required.
  14. Fantastic 😍
  15. I’m left handed! I play air bass left handed but actual bass right handed. I wouldn’t know where to start with a left handed bass!
  16. Price dropped to £1950 🎸
  17. Steve just bought a small cab from me, a very easy transaction & a pleasure to meet someone in my neck of the woods, thanks Steve
  18. Just bought an ibanez srmd 4 string and wondering about string gauge. I use 40-100 daddarios on my 34" scale bass and thinking of 45-105 for this one. Is there much difference in tension between both scales if I just stick with 40-100? Thanks guys.
  19. Fender Musicmaster Bass 1971 This is the rarer first issue of the Musicmaster bass. This is the baby of the Fender range of this era and has a 30” scale. This early version has the smaller logo and model name with the distinctive hooked R. The tuners are original with the tulip shaped keys, later models had Schaller types. The neck is nice and easy to play, it has a lovely dark rosewood board and 19 frets. Truss rod works as it ought to and the action is low and comfortable. It also intonates very well for a two saddle bridge shorty. The bass had been modded years before I bought it and had been routed for a reversed Precision bass pickup rather than the original rather weedy sounding Strat pickup. I swapped the pickup for a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder as the fitted pickup was in poor condition. I also removed the ‘choke’ from the original wiring circuit as this was probably used to make the original Strat pickup sound darker. I will include the choke with the bass. The pots and Bakelite knobs are all original. The scratchplate is one I made. It’s rather rough but does the job. I have the original one but it has been modded to accommodate the P pickup and the original pickup cavity patched. I’ll include this of course. The finish is original with lots of dings, touch ups, crazing and darker patches where stickers have been removed. It has had a long life as a gigged bass. It looks great because it’s been played and loved. I’ve personally used this for all my gigs over the last year. It sounds punchy and has a surprising tonal range. It’s light at around 3.7kgs and very easy to play. I’m selling because I’m getting back to playing long scales. I don’t want trades sorry and it’s UK only. I can post at the buyer’s expense and/or arrangement. I’ve included pictures of the original scratchplate and a template I made, plus the choke and wiring before I removed the choke. All are included. It came with a quirky home made padded bag as pictured.

  20. I alternate between finger and pick dependant on the song in my current band. However, in my old band, for some reason, I decided to play the odd set all pick. It was a revelation and a nice change. A friend of mine who, before he retired, owned a sound reinforcement company (and is the best FoH engineer I have ever heard) and also plays guitar and records with numerous folks, said that he loves the sound of a pick on bass, as it focusses the sound and can make it fit the mix better. Certainly something to break out every now and again to ring the changes. I can do that. This was recorded during lockdown... Probably the thing I'm most proud of in my playing career (doesn't hurt that it's my favourite tune of all time).

  22. Because both amp and speaker ratings are written by marketing departments, not engineering departments. Watts sell gear, amperes and volts don't. Wire capacity ratings come from engineering departments.
  23. Ahhhh, my old beautiful bass. A stunner of an instrument. GLWTS my friend. Someone is gonna pick up something very special indeed ☺️
