  6. Hi all, selling my Dingwall Combustion 5 has never been gigged in mint condition, just used at home and for recording at home, as much as i love it circumstances have changed and unfortunately it needs to go to a good home, it will come with the padded gig bag, pau ferro fretboard, ideally would be collection or can meet halfway if sensible, any questions please feel free to ask The Combustion succeeds in providing the ultimate combination of tone, performance and value, making it perfect for both stage and studio work. Thanks to our hybrid manufacturing approach, each bass receives a final fret level and set up by our skilled team of artisans in Canada, which means you can enjoy the cutting-edge benefits of the Dingwall Custom Shop at a more affordable price. Select from a left or right-handed model, Maple or Pau Ferro, 4-, 5- or 6-strings, with or without a pickguard and choose from a range of available of finishes, including Natural Ash, 2-Tone Blackburst, Vintageburst, Indigoburst, Whalepoolburst, and Ultraviolet. BODY & NECK The body is swamp ash and modelled on our Custom Shop Afterburner. It’s compact and lightweight, making for a bass that’s comfortable to wear and beautifully balanced. The five-piece maple neck is securely attached via four bolts, and the fingerboard employs Ralph Novak’s fanned-fret system and a 34–37-inch scale spread (the scale length of the B-string is three inches longer than the G), with a 240mm fretboard radius, making it superfast over a full two octaves. “We’re happy to report that the Combustion is well deserving of the Dingwall reputation. It’s built to last, with plenty of bounce, vibrancy and great sustain, all you would want from a five-string bass. We can’t recommend it highly enough – this is why so many bassists are adopting these instruments into their bass arsenals. Buy with confidence!” BASS GUITAR MAGAZINE PICKUPS & ELECTRONICS The Combustion comes fitted with Dingwall FD3n pickups that are made to our exacting specifications using neodymium magnets, which offer both high output and a smooth, but aggressive tone. They’re wired to a 3-band preamp, along with a 4-position Quad-tone pickup selector, master volume and an active/passive toggle switch. “The Quad-Tone pickup selector gave me quick access to several distinct flavors. In passive mode, the soloed neck and bridge pickups were old-school and vintage, the bridge /middle pickup combo was fat and focused, and the bridge/neck sound was loud and growly. Changing right-hand position gave me lots of variations on those themes, but switching on the preamp brought each pickup to life and showed me several new colors.” BASS MAGAZINE HARDWARE The Dingwall bridge started with an available bridge/saddle system that met our requirements for solid performance and great tone. We then improved on it by designing a custom riser system to provide an increased range of flexibility when it comes to adjusting the action. The headstock is home to the lightest import tuners we could find. We collaborated with Hipshot to modify their Ultra-lite tuners, which resulted in a shorter tuning peg that allows a proper downward angle at the nut for maximum sustain and improved stability. Dingwall Strings Dingwall strings have been meticulously tested to maximize performance and deliver a tone that blends effortlessly with any style of music. We were the first company to design strings specifically for multi-scale instruments. Available in both nickel and stainless steel, our strings provide an even tension for optimal balance, letting you experience the warmest highs and the tightest lows possible. Note: basses are shipped with Dingwall Nickel Strings as standard. 7. Hey thanks JJ. It looks earlier than mine, but good to see what an original bridge might look like.
  8. PM’s replied to. Thanks
  9. yes agree, great squared
  10. Hi H = 44cm (incl feet) W = 47.5cm D = 40cm (51 P bass pic for comparison purposes!)
  11. My life underwent a similar upheaval a few years back. She bought me out of the house so I had a few grand to splurge in the Basschat market place and ever since I have been living the life of an itinerant musician. I'm pretty much broke by most people's standards but I wouldn't go back for any money. Hang in there mate, life can surprise you in a good way too

  13. These are underrated! The low and high controls are super handy on bass 👌
  14. I owned it, but ended up selling it, because I'm a BassChatter... GR Bass AeroTech Full Carbon Cube 800 Combo coupled to a GR Bass AeroTech Full Carbon Cube 112+ cabinet. Super light and super powerful with excellent definition and almost neutral sounding.
  15. We put domed lights on top of our cabs to stop people putting drinks down. Dave
  16. A Tony Franklin like Precision Bass would be a better description. It has what looks like an ebony fingerboard with a brass nut on what also looks to be a 70's Fender P-Bass neck, with a Jazz Bass pickup under the bridge cover and the output jack located on the side as the hole is now certainly occupied by the tone control. If it's an original Fender 70's Precision Bass neck, the fingerboard has been changed as it was either rosewood or varnished maple.
  17. Today
  18. Had that happen to our sound guy a while back and it killed the cab 😡 he built some pitched roof covers for them so it was impossible
  19. Was great watching you last Thursday. You sat in the pocket effortlessly. You made it seem super natural. The whole band did great is such a hot venue. I questioned my life choices with the clothes I decided to wear to the gig lol. Hope to see you catch the band again.
  20. I was sent this bass via Whatsapp that was for sale at a local car boot sale this morning. If this is yours then please do let me know as I am curious! So the question is.....any ideas on what it would be? Apparently it was being described as a Jaco signature but, well, I always hand him down as a sunburst Jazz type....
  21. Great bass at a great price too!
  22. Is that the bowling green @Norris?
