Dan and EZ, I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience. Thanks.

Great, that’s the scenario I’m seeking. Do the two facing upwards help hear the bass, especially on a small stage, where you might have to stand right in front of and close to the rig.

Good, I’m looking at up to 12 of them and up to 500w….enough to feel it at small gigs?

“Now” - Paul Rodgers. Jaz Lochrie fills the low end with some great fretless playing. Rogers’ backing band on this album is particularly tight.

I considered that, but it just makes life complicated and defeats my original intention. I may manufacture some sort of ramp to cover the void before going down the custom pickguard route (it’s where my hand sits when I play anyway, so a rest would be useful). -
Use enough of them and you will.

I’m in the wrong business all I need now is to become female, young and passably pretty with at least average presentational skills and I’ve got it made 💰 -

Iirc the plate amp was an off the shelf part (with custom dsp curves) that was discontinued. That was the main reason those cabs were stopped, although Alex did say he had a stock of parts on hand. My point is that the amps exist outside of Barefaced and having it fixed may be easier than you think. Have you checked the fuse?

Hmmm, I am used to feeling the presence through my Bassman 135 rig, as much as hearing those lovely phat tones. Please can any other PJB owners share their experience of ‘feeling’ the bass through multiple 5” neo speakers in a gig situation? thanks
-
In the past I too have had great service from Barefaced so i expect this is a minor blip. I don’t use Instagram. However it would be good to get a resolution from them before i resort to opening it up to see if i can find something obvious. If I don’t hear from BF by the end of the year, i will have to take it to a tech. Such a great cab to not have working.

This is the only thing that YouTube gets right. You have to disclose if you're being paid to shill something. Other social media sites either have looser policies or don't enforce the ones they do have. Both my wife (who's into witchy stuff) and her sister (who's a piercer) have been approached multiple times for sponsored posts by companies and said no every time. We do have a friend (a female warhammer player) who started saying yes to offers. Oh to be a gorgeous goth woman like those three. Meanwhile I'd happily lie about anything for 50p but as an ugly bloke my options for 'collabs' (shudder) are somewhat more limited. I'm joking, as business owners they work really hard and are at the top of their games, they deserve all the success they are getting. God knows we're not retiring on my salary. -

I'm usually almost pathologically resistant to paid for courses. However after years of playing in rock/indie I joined a funk/soul band and felt painfully exposed. Phrasing wasn't right, felt awkward and not in the pocket etc etc. I bit the bullet and realised that spending money on a new bass/amp/pedal wasn't magically making me a better player (still fun though) so I signed up Three weeks in, I'm pretty impressed. I like the structure that releases a section a week rather than full access to everything. Resources, videos and backing tracks are excellent quality. The live sessions are fun and focused. Feels well scaled so far - lots of stuff I've seen go from root notes to 7/8 mixolydian Swedish folk fusion leaving a massive 'how the hell did they do that?' gulf in the middle. Am I motivated to practice more? Yes Is my practice more focused? Yes Is my timing improving (probably as a result of the above)? Yes Is my phrasing improving? Starting to Can I do stuff I couldn't before? Yes Could I have learned most of this stuff for free piecemeal on the Internet? Probably Do they send waaaaay too many emails? Good lord yes Was it expensive? It felt it, but if I break it down into 14 (the length of the course in weeks) then probably not really. Has the rest of the band noticed? Very funny (but it's only week 3 so I still have hope) If anyone else is doing the course then I'd be interested in how you're finding it. If you're thinking about these courses then hopefully this might help a bit.

12th fret to the neck side of the pickup on an original stingray is 321mm That’s what I went with. Not quite enough room to have the P pickup as well.
