Without detailed specs on the woofer and tweeter one cannot construct an ideal crossover. If you have the impedance of the drivers you can use an off the shelf crossover that will still be better than what you have, for instance https://www.parts-express.com/Eminence-PX-BII-3K5-2-Way-Crossover-Board-3-500-Hz-290-636?quantity=1

I agree with everything, have also found single pickup basses generally track better and Stingrays too but with a the bass dialled back a little.

Pardon my ignorance, but who is HW?

Is the compressor in the One any good?

And One Of The Days by Pink Floyd (obvs prefer the live versions!) - That dotted 8ths pedal groove is SO effective and perfect for grabbing the delay pedal out. #NerdAlert - I remember watching John Giblin playing for Simple Minds at the Nelson Mandela concert - so much so that I recall him playing a Fender Power Jazz Bass Special - my PJ's of choice these days, cracking out a delay pedal at the end of the song. It's funny how these memories seem to come back to me when I read basschat posts!
-
I remember you having severe doubts about keeping it - glad you managed to overcome them. Sadly your original thread has been Imgured. The biggest issue is that the fingerboard runs the length of the bass - however, as Jon said, he knows how it went together. And that also means that he can change the scale length while he's at it, so there is an upside.

Vintage (brand) V30 short scale P bass - any opinions?

I`ve not had or used one of these, but assuming it`s the same quality of their Tony Butler Precision then it would be a very good instrument. This is the first time I`ve seen these and I`m going to take a punt on one. -

So the £130 pedal becomes £180 if it's preloaded with presets that I presume you could add to the £130 one? Have I got that right?

ALL of this. I teach this bass line every time someone wants to learn slap bass. It's the perfect antidote to over playing, which oft ends up sounding like building a shed with drum kit. And a two chord song! Em - EAug

I'll refrain from recycling the old When Dove's Cry joke..

This is a tough one as every note in this track is perfectly and well placed. A bit of an odd choice from me, it appeared on a Sony compilation CD my mum had and I noted that the singer has the same name as my good friend and band mate, top session drummer Thomas Lang. What was more incredible is the fretless bassist on the track, expertly negotiating weaving in and out of the vocals, unbeknownst to me is a chap called John Murphy... yes, the same John Murphy responsible for the soundtracks of Suicide Squad, 28 days/weeks later, Guardians Of The Galaxy, etc! Ok, pick a note, any note.. 0.54 or 1.07 reaching high. or 1.30

We (The Daub'z...) are quite definitely not a wedding band; we play nothing to dance to (RATM, Muse, Space Oddity, Wish you were here, Radiohead and more...). We have a buddy with an events company; he often supplied the PA and did the sound for our concerts, with heavy use of subs, from his Disco days. He badly wanted us to play at his own wedding, despite our protesting its unsuitability. The day came, we were set up on the gravel track beside the main reception building/hall (so outside, using our own more modest PA...) When the time came, mid-afternoon, we were signalled to start up; after about ten minutes, the groom (our buddy...) came out to ask us to turn it down..! No, we were not loud (that's not our style, and we were playing outdoors...). We played a couple more songs and decided, together, that it would be kinder to everyone to knock it on the head, packed up and left, leaving the happy couple and guests to their revelries inside. We remained buddies, but got no more offers of 'function' gigs, to our relief. :-|

I've been on the other end of that - a friend's wedding, her Dad was paying, so it was a big country house hotel, verrrr posh, but he'd also booked a Jazz band, because he liked jazz. We all buggered off outside (some of us even crashed the wedding in the other wing, because it looked great) and stayed there, while her Dad, her Mum and a couple of their friends stayed in the room and tapped their feet.
-
We are not a wedding band either, but we have done a load of weddings and none of them have been bad, the last one was a bit faffy, but most of them have been really good. I guess we have just been lucky, the people who have hired us had seen us before and were happy with what they got.

Schecter diamond model T, modelled on the bass designed by Robert DeLeo of stone temple pilots. has original Seymour Duncan pickups (I believe these are the spb2) giving great dynamic range. This bass is so good I bought it twice. I sold it in a moment of GAS, and then spent several years trying to find it again. Very reluctant sale due to not playing anymore. collection preferred from Warrington or possible meet up
-
Up for sale is this amazing fender highway one precision. Not a massive fan of p basses personally, but this is one of the best I’ve played, and very reluctantly selling as I’m not playing anymore. nitro is wearing in the usual places giving a very tasteful roadworn look, currently strung with flat wounds for old school warm thump. collection preferred but can potentially arrange a meet up somewhere.
