I had the same issue with my Studiologic SL88 GT MK2 MIDI controller keyboard connected to an iPad, it only worked with the official Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter... https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/product/mw5m3zm/a/usb-c-digital-av-multiport-adapter There is the same adapter for Lightning should you need this version.

Song writing partnerships: myth or reality?Franticsmurf replied to lemonstar's topic in General Discussion When I was in my first band playing our own songs, the main writer was the drummer. He was very good, but had limited bass and guitar skills. He'd bring chords and rough lyrics to a rehearsal and we'd set off from there. I was the guitarist at the time so we'd work together (the drummer was my best mate from school so we were on the same wavelength) but my main contributions were riffs and middle eights. If I wrote a song on my own, it was usually reasonably complete and, without the influence of others, not the sort of song the band was looking for. The other guys would also write now and again and more than once we jammed new songs pretty much from scratch in rehearsals. The singer was usually responsible for the final lyrics. I write my own songs now but I do miss the collaborative process and it tends to take a lot longer for me to finish a song. I often find myself with a form of writer's block which a second opinion would usually overcome. We tried remote writing during lockdown but the spontaneity wasn't there.

Regarding boutique P basses, I think the law of diminishing returns is particularly pertinent. Most bang for your buck is to be had at around the USA Fender price point, in my opinion. That is not to say that less expensive versions are not worthwhile. A £5000 Olinto ,on the other hand, might be somebody's forever bass, I'm not putting it down, but despite never having played one myself I would wager that it sounds and feels like...a P Bass. Probably a very good one but essentially still a P Bass. As I've previously mentioned in other threads, there's a certain point with vintage and boutique traditional Fender-style basses where what your paying for is magic realism, not anything tangible or actually necessary in a practical sense.

UPDATE: NGD - Simon and Patrick S&P6 acousticOwen replied to bassbiscuits's topic in Other Instruments I have one from the early 90's. I am quite a light guitarist and do not actually play much acoustic. So it lasted very well. Then one of my son's friends picked it up when they were rehearsing here. The finish got battered pretty quickly. I feel your pain.

I've pretty much no experience with valve amps, but I think they'd often quote rated power at 10% (or sometimes, I think I've heard, 3%) the reason being that their THD is in excess of 0.1% even when they're not clipping. In the context of valve amps, the power rating has even less bearing on the actual volume - as the mighty AC30 attests!

I cut them as I don’t like too much wrap on the posts. This is what my headstock looks like…

I don't tell which brand I use, but I recommend you to do some trials with the B. The best sounding gauge has been .120, and I have tried many. Find your favourite, that works with the bass and your fingers.

If there is an eq, you can do it, if not, buy one. I do not know any eq box from modern tce. They had a 2 band parametric pedal back in the 80's, and a 4 band rack unit named as 1140/1144/2240 (HS).

StingRayBoy42 started following Gator mulltifx/pedalboard/controller/stuff Bag - *SOLD*
-
Gator bag for small keyboards, controllers, multi-FX, pedalboards or just tonnes of 'stuff' for gigs. I think it's the GK2110. Inside dimensions (L x W x H): 57 x 29 x 10 cm Outside dimensions (L x W x H): 59 x 33 x 11 cm According to Thomann It's been my 'Everything I could possibly need and lots of things I will never *ever* need but they're good to have as spares' bag for years, you can cram a mind-boggling amount of things in there. It's done somewhere in the region of eleventy billion gigs, so it's very well used and a bit tatty in places naturally relic'd which adds tonnes of mojo. It's structurally sound, decent padding, no holes, zips work well... years of life left in it. Front pocket for even more (slightly smaller) crap that you won't need but you're going to take anyway because you're a bit OCD. Great for butter, plays like metal, will only increase in value etc etc Would consider trade for a Wal (with cash my way) The picture is upside down, but the bag is the right way up in real life. £17 posted or a tenner collected from Bewdley DY12

	Me too, it's rubbish.

Not great where I live (Hants), but I don't expect it to be. Specialised items tend to be thin on the ground away from major centres of population, unsurprisingly. Say, for example, that one in ten thousand people play the bass and so will have the occasional instrument to sell. In the Greater London area, with approx 10 million inhabitants, there are likely to be a few hundred to choose from at any one time. Move to where I live and you'll find a couple of dozen at best. Better players (excluding the rich and famous who have bought a mansion in the country) tend to live in major population centres because that's where most gigs are. Unless you want a used Squier, there ain't likely to be a lot to choose from.

Space - that's a nice idea. Wish I had some.
