  1. Past hour
  2. We are all individuals!
  3. Is that a metal insert? Blimey! Hats off to @Jabba_the_gut
  4. Fair enough... I understand why that works for you... I find the flats bring a life to it that I really like... Always subjective this game! ... Vive la difference! 😎
  5. Next is a doors tribute the doors alive then blackbeards tea party then a rush tribute , Moving Pictures Joe Jackson at the end off the year
  6. Thekla is a great venue!.. played there many times in the past 😎 Looks a great bass set up... What kind of stuff do you play?
  7. I'm relocating away from the area so we're currently looking for new bassist to join Peterborough Big Band after the summer (depending on moving dates!) Peterborough Big Band have been running for over 40 years and play an eclectic mixture of big band arrangements from 1940s swing right through to arrangements of modern pop classics and everything in between. Roughly 50:50 instrumental:vocal Looking for a committed bassist who can make weekly Thursday evening rehearsals. We don't have a lot of paid gigs, but we do a regular evening in the "Brewery Tap" function room in the centre of Peterborough roughly 5 times throughout the year. You need to be able to play from music dots and also be able make up your own lines (often walking bass) from a chords (80-90% of charts are fully written out music) I play bass guitar and double bass (depending on the tune) but double bass is absolutely not a requirement. Great bunch of people. Any questions, let me know. Or come and see our next gig on the 12th of Feb at the Brewery Tap, Peterborough. Links below are from one of our 'Brewery Tap' gigs from a couple of years ago. Awful lighting but you get the idea. 8. There are only three people up here in the North East of England who I would trust with refretting any bass, let alone a genuine 1963 Jazz bass; 1) Paul Richardson at PR Guitars (Facebook only, looks like his website is down) 2) Gary at Sylva Guitars 3) Dave Wilson (again, Facebook only) But, all three are incredibly busy so expect a wait.
  9. I probably should have explained that it scrolls through your presets but yea that’s why I’ve put them up together as I don’t think I could use it without
  10. Christmas is out of the way, you've been paid - what are you waiting for?
  11. Just a thumbs up for this combo as it is! The tap perfectly compliments the synth pedal, and looks oh so good on the pedal board!
  12. Thanks
  13. Well …I don’t need this at all ! I will be getting this later on in the year ! How could I not?!?
  14. I will check and let you know. I am watching Asia as we speak!
  15. Sale pending
  16. Today
  17. Cheers Aidan, I did see that post. Whilst the collection and return seems appealing, on research some folk complained about the quality of refret work. I have dealt with MOR over 20yrs ago when I lived in York and had no issues regarding buying/selling. The company have no presence in York, I believe now based in Selby. End of the day, I just want the Jazz sorted. I'm not bothered about the retaining the originality of the bass, it's a refin anyway but it's a keeper. Ian
  18. Thats good to know. It seems well regarded. Hoping to learn alot from it, Cheers
  19. Hi All, My Ashdown amp is for sale due to repurchasing an amp I sold on here last year, so I have enough amps. It's the current model and purchased new last year. Last gigged this past Saturday and sounding monstrous through my Barefaced 2x12. I noticed it could do with a wipe on the casing after I took the photos. There's no scratches or dents to the casing. Always protected when transported. Looking for £400 posted or £385 cash on collection. Thanks for looking.
  20. Big Country didn't do a lot for me but I was a huge fan of Skids (their name does not includeThe), a brilliant, brilliant guitarist.
  21. Nice one, Ive got that book somewhere, there’s plenty of stuff to work on, it’s good
  22. Re-release version. It’s been used, so isn’t pristine but works fine. Velcro on the base. No original box.

  23. I nearly bought a pair of these a few years back, read the marketing and decided not to I imagine they're a bloody great way of getting that classic '51/'53/'55 tone out of a Jazz though, so still very tempted
  24. Nothing right now! Still some decisions to be made…
  25. I was concerned that using fingernails (or indeed a pick) would, over time, possibly damage the cavity cover or body of the bass. @Jabba_the_gut came up with a solution...
  26. Payday today for me, so bought Marvyn Gayes 'Whats Going On' for James Jamersons bass playing on vinyl. Then ordered 'Music Theory for the Bass Player' by Ariane Cap. I'll give this a good go through February when it arrives on a couple of days, if its not for me, i'll get myself on Beginner To Badass from Bassbuzz.
